Has anyone had any issues with downloading and installing Stremio on a Firestick (its just a basic edition Firestick, running the current OS 5.2.9.5)? I'm able to download the file (32 Bit for Firestick) without issues, but when I try to install, I keep getting the error message "Page Error - There was a problem parsing the package".

Is the version of the file maybe corrupt? Is my Firestick too old to handle the app? I have another Firestick in another room that I had no issues installing the app onto.

what's the best version of stremio for Android tv ??

I have an older Samsung Smart TV that doesn’t support Stremio natively (as far as I know), so I’m looking for an external streaming device mainly to use Stremio.

A few things to consider:

• I already have a sound setup connected through eARC, so compatibility with that matters.
• I’m in The Netherland. Can buy used no issue.
• Devices like the Xiaomi Box S (3rd gen) and Nvidia Shield are a bit too expensive for my budget. 50e or under is what I can spend comfortably.
• I’ve seen mixed reviews about Fire TV Sticks and Chromecast devices when it comes to installing and running Stremio smoothly recently.
• Ethernet is available (if that is a consideration).

So, what device would you recommend?

Did stremio get rid of all Amazon exclusive shows, I use to watch them but now there is nothing to be found?

I've installed stremio on macos El capitan.

The stremio veraion is 4.4.

When In the homepage, I don't see pictures of the movies, and when entering one, there are no available torrents.

What should I do?

I've been watching Air Crash Investigation/Mayday and got to the last episode and suddenly started getting the error in the title. I've searched and tried some of the solutions but nothing has worked so far.

Mainly tried, clearing cache, data, restarting etc. This is affecting all of my devices (android TV, phone and tablet). I'm using cinebye but reset to default and it made no difference. Even removed ratings add-ons in case they affected things but that didn't work either. Also tried casting from DMM with no luck.

Anyone ever had the issue? Or if the same show isn't working for anyone else. Any suggestions on how to fix it would be appreciated!

My fire stick is on its last legs.

Thinking about getting a new fire stick or a AppleTV, thoughts?

Edit: got it, no to AppleTV. The question now is, FireStick4k, Onn Box 4k, or GoogleBox?

Edit: Ended up getting a AppleTV! I am already in Apple ecosystem and did not realize there were alternative apps in the official store that function the same - I also don’t mind sideloading stremio!

Does anyone have the same problem? Audio track on Exoplayer is mute, when i switch to VLC everything is normal. Someone have solution for this bug?

I find that anything I chose to watch takes such a long time to watch. I always go to 1080p rather than the 4k or HD options as I know they will not load.
My wifi is fine. Everything else loads up fine, if I were to watch the same show on Netflix it’ll be fine.

The title is more or less self-explanatory, but to give better context: While for most non-anime related content, I find default ExoPlayer just fine, I find myself really struggling when it comes to anime. Even setting aside basic stuff like having two different subs up at the same time (like having a sign appear on-screen while a character talks causing them to either cut out or overlay each other), if a show has more animated or stylized subtitles (like, say, Apothecary Diaries OPs and EDs showing lyrics and whatnot on screen), pretty much every player I've tried just crashes and burns.

ExoPlayer just completely gives up the ghost and doesn't even try (using the experimental Libass support just makes stuff crash more often than not). LibVLC tries but shits itself, leading stuff to animate out of sync or not correctly (say if a subtitle is supposed to fade on-screen, it'll just pop it up at a low opacity and stay static like that without moving, making it unreadable).

I tried some of the recommended external players like standalone VLC (needed to download an older APK of it because the most recent one on the playstore just crashes when trying to open an episode), Just Player doesn't even try, MX Player has similar issues, so does NOVA Player.

The only one that I tried so far that flawlessly plays those kinds of animated subtitles is Kodi. Problem is, Kodi sucks in terms of seamless integration. It loads a long splash screen every time you try to pop in an episode, it doesn't track watched episodes (so I'll finish an episode and it'll mark as never having been started), if I press the back key to go back to Stremio it freaks out and hops me onto the Kodi menu while still playing the video in the background and then if I press back again it pauses it and opens the video again, looping over and over which really freaks out my muscle memory.

Is there literally ANY alternative to Kodi here that might actually work with SSA subtitles without going completely insane? I was hoping for more seamless integration when I watch stuff on my TV, but none of the players I've seen people recommend work for this use-case very well and the only one that does is a bit of a usability nightmare. Sure, I could probably power through and get used to the annoyance, but my less technically-minded boyfriend gave up after flailing with the Kodi UI for five minutes when he tried watching something while I wasn't around.

I set everything up and it did work, but it stopped and idk why.

I'm helping a friend set up stremio. Through the website it works to login, but when he tries to log in from his Samsung Android or his tablet he gets an authenitication error of "wrong passphrase". I tried logging in with his account on my android and had no problem. But for some reason he cannot get on. Has anyone had this issue or found a resolution? I read online that downloading an older verison might do the trick. His tablet and phone were updated this morning and mine hasn't. But I'm not sure where to go to find an older version of Stremio to try on his phone/tablet. Thanks!

We primarily watch on a Samsung tv with the app installed from the Samsung App Store but I would also like to be able to watch on a Vizio Tv in another room. We use Rokus for our other streaming services. What is our best option to get Stremio on the Vizio?

Exo no reproduce casi ningún contenido, por el contrario vlc si lo hace sin problemas. Probé en las versiones 1.8.4 - 1.9.12 y en la beta 1.10.0 rc15, nada funciona con exo. Así que instalé la version 1.6(.)12 y funciona genial.

Tengo una caja china x96q allwinner h313 y con exo en casi ninguna fuente logra reproducir su contenido queda pegado ni bien inicia o ni siquiera eso.

Vlc reproduce el contenido sin ningún inconveniente, que puede estar pasando??

I've made this feedback/suggestion on the new xbox voice page. Was hoping to get some support for it if anyone has an account they can login and upvote.

Plex was a popular suggestion when they done this last time and Xbox made it happen, could we see the same with Stremio?
