Studebaker Lark

Up for sale is my 1960 Studebaker Lark VIII Wagon, a rare and unique American classic that's becoming increasingly difficult to find. This wagon is powered by a 259 cubic-inch Studebaker V8 paired with an automatic transmission. It runs and drives and is a great candidate for someone looking for a weekend cruiser, classic daily, or restoration project.

Details:

1960 Studebaker Lark VIII Wagon
Original 259ci Studebaker V8
Automatic transmission
Runs and drives
Clean California title
Newer battery
Alternator conversion
Spacious wagon interior
Rare body style with lots of character

The car is in solid driver condition for its age. The engine runs perfectly, and the engine bay is clean. The interior is mostly complete, with a clean rear bench and newer carpet, though some interior trim and door panels could use attention. The exterior presents well and has the classic patina and charm you'd expect from a 66-year-old vehicle.

Whether you're a Studebaker enthusiast or just looking for something you won't see at every car show, this Lark VIII is a great opportunity.

No trades. Serious buyers only. Message me if you have questions or would like to come see it.

Timing help

Here’s the timing marks on my ‘59 Studebaker and I’m curious to know if anyone has suggestions on how to apply some timing marks to this so I can adjust my new distributor correctly. I’ve also got a vacuum gauge to help get it tuned correctly.

Thanks!

New exhaust almost complete!

Spent two days custom fabricating a new exhaust from the manifolds back. Just need to tack and weld the rest.

Then:

Bleed brakes
Rear differential oil change
Rear leafs and shocks
New radiator in
Install fuse block
Wire rad fans and radio
Replace plugs
New HEI distributor and coil
Adjust timing
Clean and tune carb
Final timing

EASY.

Want to be ready for a local car show in August.

Ignition update time

Now that exhaust is done I’m moving on to the ignition. New HEI distributor and coil, getting rid of the old points and external resistance coil.

Plugs look good, so looks like the carb is tuned well and there’s not any issues with burning oil, which is nice. Replacing them anyway because they’re old.

Did find the PCV valve (lifter valley ventilation?) just cut off, and had been venting oil just everywhere. So I reconnected that to manifold vacuum. I don’t see anywhere else this would’ve connected, but going to check my shop manual.

New distributor is in. But have to figure out the wiring - several splices keep me from tracing the right colors, so I have to cut open the loom.

Zip van current restoration

First two colors complete, working on the 3rd.

Now I just need the engine rebuilt.
