Many owned accounts banned for something my brother “didn’t” do.
Unfortunately, my brother and I have both received 14-day bans from Roblox over an incident that neither of us committed.
So, my brother was transferring weapons in MM2 between two devices when he accidentally left his microphone active. During this time, a user began jokingly saying things to a homos*xual because of his s*xual orientation. This included various slurs, offensive language, and a lot of swearing.
My brother’s microphone was simply left active, and the other user’s voice apparently carried and transmitted through his device. He did not intentionally say anything.
Despite this, the consequences extended far beyond the person who was allegedly responsible. Multiple accounts belonging to my brother were banned, and my very own accounts were also banned, apparently because we live in the same household.
That is the part I find particularly difficult to understand.
We are two separate people with separate accounts. Sharing a residence, network, or IP address does not mean that we are the same person, nor does it establish that we participated in the same conduct.
It genuinely concerns me how much personal data a platform like Roblox could potentially have on me. Possibly even more info than the government has on me and my brother combined lmfao.
What makes this even more frustrating is that most of the affected accounts had little or no prior moderation history. Going from essentially no history to a 14-day suspension is brutal.
The two of us have spent a lot on MM2 and limiteds for a little over a decade. Losing access to those accounts for two weeks over circumstances we had no intention of causing is understandably frustrating but also amusing.
