My drawing of Rikishi eating chanko
Drawing Sumo for every Sunday until I achieve my goal of seeing them in person. This is last Sumo drawing I drew in the UK before departing for what I thought would be a short trip to Poland. Happy Rikishi eating their daily Chanko!
Currently in Poland post operation in recovery for the next 3 months so enjoy this scanned artwork. Will try my best to have another Sumo drawing for next Sunday but due to health limitations I have no clue if I will be able to continue my Sunday Sumo drawing challenge.

The Banzuke
Hi, I’ve just gotten into sumo in the last month or so, but I’m fascinated by the banzuke. I know the rankings are decided by a committee, and I think there are technically no rules on who goes where (although maybe I’m wrong about that), but there are clearly customs and ways to predict the final rankings. I am very curious about all of these customs and I would like to know as much as possible about how people are typically ranked, please tell me everything. Even if it’s too complicated for me to understand at the moment, I will be able to understand it later on. Thanks in advance!
