Has anyone else got a Chipper club mug from the 80’s

I won this mug at school around 1983. Just wondered if anyone else still had one

Looking for accessible places to make friends

Title explains it. I’m a wheelchair user in my early 20s and have very few friends and it’s horribly isolating. The places I used to go prior to being a wheelchair user aren’t accessible and I just wanna go somewhere to make friends where it’s not considered weird to just go up and say hi.

Anyone know anywhere?

Meeting people in Sunderland - late 20s

Hi everyone.

I'm originally from the north east but moved away with family years ago. I'm now in the process of moving to Sunderland later this year but I'm doing my best to make sure I don't end up lonely. I can be a bit introverted and I don't drink so I can sometimes find it hard to settle in a new place so I want to have a plan ahead of time.

I really like outdoorsy and creative hobbies. I love walking next to the sea or in nature or trying a new craft project. I like video games and sport as well (also a Sunderland fan).

What would you recommend a late 20s guy like me do when moving to the area to meet new people locally? Thanks in advance!

illegal dirt bikes on pavements

what, if anything, will be done about these in Sunderland?

police are absolutely useless.

they all seem to be young kids as well. why on earth are their scruffy chavs of “parents” buying these things for them? it’s just unthinkable. i’d be mortified if my son ever dreamed to ask me to buy him one.

From Sunderland but living abroad a long time, looking for somewhere decent for lunch? Where would you recommend? (City centre)

Obviously it’s match day, so that’s Propa out. What do you think?

Looking for part time job for students

I’m going to be studying in Sunderland and I’m currently looking for a part-time job alongside my studies.

I’ve already been checking Indeed, LinkedIn and other online job platforms, but I’m struggling to find suitable part-time opportunities in Sunderland. I’m open to pretty much anything suitable for a student — retail, hospitality, warehouse, kitchen work, cleaning, customer service, admin, etc.

I wanted to ask people who actually live/work in Sunderland:

Are there any particular places, companies, recruitment agencies or local businesses that regularly hire students for part-time work?

If you know somewhere currently hiring, or even somewhere that is worth approaching directly with a CV, I’d really appreciate the recommendation.

I’m mainly looking for around 15–20 hours per week and I’m flexible with evenings/weekends.

Thanks!

Where oh where are Jalapeños

I like Jalapeños, however I cannot seem to find any fresh anywhere.

I just want to make my own stuffed jalapeños 😢

I have tried a lot of places hoping someone may have physically seen them somewhere 😅

Looking for Accommodation in Sunderland – October 2026 Intake

Hi everyone!

I’m an international student from India and I’ll be joining the MSc Drug Discovery and Drug Development at the University of Sunderland for the October 2026 intake.

I’m currently looking for student accommodation in Sunderland from around September/October 2026.

If anyone is looking for a flatmate, has a room available, is moving out, or knows of any good accommodation options, please feel free to comment or DM me.

I would also really appreciate any tips or advice from current or past Sunderland students.

Thank you!
