Sunderland MP claims Reform want to scrap kids' free breakfast clubs and calls on councillors to reveal stance

Sunderland MP and education secretary Bridget Phillipson has called on the city’s incoming Reform councillors to “admit to their constituents that they would close the recently introduced free breakfast clubs”.

A spokesperson for Reform UK has labelled the clubs a “gimmick” and an additional burden on tax-payers.

Big weekend travel advice

Hey local people! We are staying at hilton near stadium of light on Saturday and had just (foolishly) assumed we could uber to the big weekend and then uber back later. Except the official advice is that there is no drop off point for taxis and they want us all to use shuttle buses.

Do u think ubers will still be reasonably priced at kick out time if we walked to say the stables pub off Herrington Rd or the pub at the roundabout with chester road. imagine there will be people walking there for pick ups etc. duno whether to risk it or just shuttle bus 🙃

Uni accommodation confusion?

I’m a prospective student to Sunderland for medicine, they gave me a link to the accommodation. The three options are Panns Bank, The precinct and Scotia Quay. I know this application is very late maybe but I only received an offer a week or so ago. I was thinking of applying for Scotia Quay as I’m not very interested in sharing a bathroom with others. Panns Bank en suites are ofc higher price than the Scotia Quay, from the pictures provided in the website I can’t tell if Scotia Quay looks like it hasn’t been maintained well or not so now I’m kind of lost? Do I apply to both? Am I allowed to apply for two accoms and then pick if I get a room? Also is there any like things I should know about the accoms that isn’t stated on the website and descriptions?

Wearmouth bridge roundabout

If I was to do a U-turn at this roundabout to go back past the Theory Test Centre, which lane would I be best using?

Does anywhere still do this?

I know during the more relaxed lock downs some pubs were doing deals like this for people who were forced to work from home.

Does anyone know if any still have it going?

I know the seaburn inm were doing it but no idea if it's still a thing.
