After multiple failed attempts and getting very frustrated, I just didn’t want to to deal with this and decided to switch to assist mode for the first and hopefully last time.

But I’m asking myself “Am I bad because of I had to resort to that?”

Side note, but this is how my life feels like sometimes.

Alright, guys, I got something else in mind for Rosalina that should've been in the movie.

This is a good one.

She could've just stayed in the cage, instead of being overpowered by that machine, they could've just used the Grand Star to power up the Boomsday Weapon (just like in Sonic, Eggman uses the Chaos Emeralds or Master Emerald to Power Up the Eclipse Cannon).

And Peach fights Kamek to rescue Rosalina, let's just say after Kamek warns Bowser and Bowser Jr that Mario and his friends are in Space Junk Galaxy AKA Planet Bowser, he has been told to watch over Rosalina til Peach gets there, this is where Kamek gets a role, Kamek takes Rosalina's power which overpowers her, and all that power Kamek took gave him power.

When Peach finds Rosalina in a cage, Kamek appears all mighty and powerful, Peach demands that he released her sister at once but Kamek refused, the power is all his now, and in a few minutes, the Boomsday Weapon will fire, she gonna have to fight Kamek to free Rosalina and stop that machine.

Peach tries her best to fight Kamek, but Kamek knocks her down, but Peach didn't give up, she came all way to find her sister, and she's way too far to give in, she came right back up and continues to fight, she dodges every one of Kamek’s attacks, magic, minions, even Koopa shell. She uses thoses shells to her advantage, she throws and reflects them at Kamek few times (just like the games), then after one final hit, Kamek loses all the Power and returns to his normal self unconscious, then Kamek’s wand fell in front of unconscious Rosalina, broke and releases all of her power and energy, Rosalina gains her power and energy, and broke out of the cage, Peach and Rosalina ran and hugs each other shortly (they don't have time for the reunion yet),

Then they work together to stop the Boomsday Weapon, they tried their best to get the Grand Star out of there, but the glass is too strong, but Peach had an idea, she tells Rosalina to touch her hand, Rosalina knows what she's talking about, she reaches out her hand to Peach's hand, then they closed their eyes to focus, the magic releases, and their other hands touches the glass, as the magic grows, the glass begins to crack, the power destroys the glass, the Grand Star is out, and the power transformed Planet Bowser into a nature-filled garden, then they hugged again as a reunion.

I’ve been playing Galaxy 2 on my switch 2 and every time I save I have a certain number of lives. Let’s say 6 lives but when I reopen the game I always am knocked down to 4 lives. It’s only ever 4. Does anyone know why this is happening? Everything else saves in the game like it should but my lives never do why?

Hopefully I can showcase my talent more , do need more props and an umbrella .

Here's something new and cool garbanzo beans, while I was trying to hunt for Jakks Pacific Elephant Mario 2.5 Inch Figure. Even though I didn't find the one I was looking for, I found Jakks Pacific Tanooki Mario 2.5 Inch Figure in Gamestop, and Super Mario Galaxy Movie 1.5 Inch Flying Mario Figure with Star Launcher yesterday in Target. I guess that too bad yesterday was Sunday, I would've record my next part of Sonic 1 Reblasted (Beta Build) recently after posting my post lol.

The flair and my example is Galaxy 2, but comments from either game are accepted!

For me - Clockwork Ruins. The secret star is somewhat fun (albeit incredibly easy with the slow-mo mechanic), but standing on those rotating platforms is tedious as they move fairly slowly, not to mention you have to be stupidly precise as you reach for the Power Star (or Green Star 3) at the end.

Also - Freezy Flake. Sorbetti is an absolute joke and devoid of any difficulty (once you know how to chain attack it, it’s over in a matter of seconds) and combined with my general hatred of snow levels in Mario games as it is, I just find it a boring galaxy. Mind you, I quite enjoy the Chimp’s skating challenges, which can be legitimately difficult if you’re not familiar with the sequence, particularly in Shiverburn (a great galaxy!).

I don’t have my Switch on me at the moment, so can’t show evidence.

On the Switch port, I unlocked The Perfect Run with 9400 star bits - I thought you needed 9999 (but no need to deposit) to unlock it? I got it straight after finishing Grandmaster’s first mission. Didn’t need to grind the second star in Molten Monster for star bits.

Still, I did TPR in 31 attempts, which I think is my PB.

*Well, as 100% as possible while still getting the max amount of Bronze Stars, and since Bronze Stars can't be used to unlock Grandmaster Galaxy, it's ending at 240/242.

And If you're wondering why only certain stars can be Bronze, it's because the Cosmic Spirit that helps you but turns the star Bronze will only ever appear in certain missions, and only up to once in each galaxy. (except Flip-Out, weirdly) Galaxies that contain multiple Bronze Stars usually feature both a normal and hidden star in the same mission, meaning both of them can often be collected Bronze after you interact with the spirit.

The only feasible improvement I can see happening from our current knowledge would potentially be Supermassive's In Full Bloom star. The Cosmic Spirit spawns on the final planet beyond the hidden star, but the jump to return to a previous planet is close enough to possible that it may be doable with something TAS-level movement or future tricks.

Melty Monster's A Stroll Down Rolling Lane technically also has The Chimp's Bowling Challenge, but is pretty unlikely to happen. To travel from the Spirit to the Chimp's pipe you'd need to go backwards across a massive Launch Star path. Unless some sorta new, Yoshi-less flight glitch is discovered, there's no way this one's being done.

I based my run using the Mario Wiki's current list of Cosmic Spirits, but since the documentation online for these mechanics isn't great, it's very possible there's more cosmic spirits in the game and it's code that haven't been discovered. (I added 3 Bronze Stars to the wiki's list myself. :P) If anyone wanted to improve the run, finding a new spirit could be another way to do it.

Maybe I'm late about this and everyone else already knows but either way I'm so happy about this.

How many other people have come across this?

In Super Mario Galaxy 2, when you open the game and the last played save file isn’t the one you’re currently on, Mailtoad will have a “mysterious letter” instead of the usual letter from Peach. This letter contains the same amount of lives the as the other save file, and can be used to pass lives between saves.

There’s some interesting stuff about this letter too:

First off, the message itself is seemingly from Rosalina, given the writing and the stationary.

Secondly, Mailtoad does keep the mysterious letter, just like the rest of the letters you receive. If you count receiving all the letters as part of completion, then this is the only one that’s easily missable. To get it for completion’s sake, all you’d need to do is use a different file (or make a throwaway save) and save anywhere inside it.

Finally, if you do have a second save file prepped, and it at least has the Mailtoad unlocked, then the letter can be used as a method to maintain your lives between sessions. When you’re done with your main file, you just save and quit, which sends the letter to your second file. the next time you open the game go the to the second file first, receive the letter, save and quit, and then receive the letter on the main file again. (It’s not the most convenient, but it can be faster than bouncing on Koopas every session. :P)

Moral Concerns for Super Mario Galaxy 1

Hi all! So I’m a long time Mario fan. My older brother got Super Mario Galaxy 1 for me when I was a kid, which was about a decade ago (or a little more). Now, as an adult, I returned to the game and bought it on my switch. I just completely finished it (Luigi play-through and all), and I have some moral concerns about certain aspects of the game.

Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely loved it. I cried multiple times. The storytelling and gameplay was amazing. I’m already downloading the sequel as we speak.

BUT…I do have questions. Here’s a list of my concerns below.

1.) The Luma Shop

So I understand that Luma’s destiny is to transform into different things. I’ve made peace with that (although I still find it a bit morbid). But the Luma shop…when the blue Luma transforms into whichever mushroom you choose, is he just gone? Bro gave up his life for thirty star bits? I find it sad to think that he just becomes a mushroom and we fricking eat him. I like it better and understand more when it’s sometbing like the hungry Luma’s on Rosalina’s ship, where they transform into the pink sling stars and go back to their normal form once you’ve sprung through them.

2.) Rosalina’s Mental Health

This poor woman. I am concerned for her. She was put into the role of being the Luma’s mother since she was young and while it’s clear she has affection for them, I can’t help but feel bad for her. And she’s also been witness to every Luma’s death and rebirth. From what I can tell from the first games lore, she was just a normal girl who encountered the space ship and decided to travel with Luma. Also, what’s that about? Are children just allowed to leave their parents and family? Did she even leave them a fricking note or say goodbye? Her family is probably dead now since it’s been hundreds of years. Like damn, that’s dark. Also, who is the celestial mother? Was it just her from the future? Is it HER mom? I’ve got too many questions.

Also, how did Rosalina’s mom even die? I guess that’s not too important but I’m still curious. And why did she look exactly like adult Rosalina, dress and everything? Also, where did Rosalina’s guitar just spawn from? I assume she dug it out of the ice but how tf did she learn to play. Self taught, I guess? Another thing, how is Rosalina able to live hundreds of years if she was originally just a normal girl? I assumed it was the power the Luma’s imbued upon her or something.

3.) Mario Just Ending It

What happens when we “die” on something like the races or we when don’t collect all the purple coins? Since it takes a life away from us, I always thought it was funny to think that Mario or Luigi were so distraught with their failure that they ended it and just jumped.

4.) Baby Piranha Dino Thing.

I feel bad that we have to kill it. I get that it’s an enemy but we literally crack it out of its shell and then just obliterate it. Like damn.

5.) Super Luigi Galaxy

I thought in this play through, Mario would basically replace Luigi and it would be like a personality/role swap. Nope. We’re just gonna have two fricking Luigi’s. And I think Luigi even mentions it and he’s like “that’s weird.” How does that make sense? And in this universe, is Peach Luigi’s girlfriend? Because she calls out his name still in the finale. But then why did she send the letters to Mario? Where tf is Mario?

Anyways, that’s all. Also DISCLAIMER: this post is for gits and shiggles. Yes, I did actually have some of these questions, but I’m not actually too concerned on Nintendo’s choices for an 18 yr old game. I love SMG1 ❤️❤️🍄⭐️💫🪐🌎
