Hi everyone! I'm a freshie studying FT Early Childhood Education soon and I'd like to know if it is compulsory to stay the whole of 1st August orientation? According to the SUSS website, the program ends at 5pm but I'm looking to leave around lunch. Does anyone know if it is okay?

School Fees issue

I was recently informed that I have been awarded the Scholarship commencing from the July 2026 semester.

However, I have also received an invoice for school fees for the upcoming semester and the scholarship has not been reflected/cancel off the school fees yet. Called the school and they said they haven't got an update from the financial side.

Anyone else faced/ facing similar issue? so now i am stuck i am unsure if i need to make payment or not. Scared that i will not be enrolled next semester.

Please advice!

Update: As of 24/7/26 they have issued me a new invoice that reflects the scholarship, thank you all for your reply.

Major electives and Free Electives

Does anyone know if you can move completed modules from the "Major electives" bin to the "Free electives" bin? Or is there some kind of automatic transfer for those available in both bins?

As a Psych student, we were told to "Double dip" into Psychology mods using our Free electives as well. Just thought it would work automatically as a y1 and y2 student as i cleared compulsory mods and core but now i realised the mods i took last semester went into the major electives bin. And worse is that they overlap with the GSP100 psychology free electives offered.

I wrote in recently but the SS didnt read my questions properly and didnt answer my question at all. Sent another email to reclarify but they off for the weekend and early add/drop ends on the 28th July so idk if i need to click that tiny "Add GSP100 module" button and reorganise it...

Can someone advise me on how this system works? Do i have to actually click that tiny add GSP100 module into Psychology instead of the regular ones offered through eCR and in the main add/drop page? Am i cooked for the modules i already completed?

Thank you in advance!

Need advice: SUSS enrolment issue

(Sharing on behalf)

My partner is a SUSS CET student who needs to complete 4 recommended modules within 3 consecutive semesters before he can reapply for his degree.

He passed his first 2 modules in Jan 2026 and contacted SUSS about enrolling in the remaining 2. One module is only offered in the July semester.

He was told he could register during 1–31 May.
When he couldn’t see the module, he called again and was told it would only be available to existing students in July.

The Student Portal also showed an Add/Drop period of 17–28 July 2026, so we waited.

When he logged in on 17 July, there was no Add/Drop option. He called again and was then told that enrolment had actually closed in May, and the July dates shown on his portal didn’t apply to him.

Because of this, he may miss taking the module only offered once a year, meaning he won’t be able to complete the required modules within the 3-semester window—even though he followed the advice given by SUSS staff and the dates displayed in his portal.

He has since emailed SUSS requesting manual enrolment, but they’re taking a few working days to respond.

Has anyone encountered a similar situation with SUSS? Is it reasonable to hope that they might allow a manual enrolment or make an exception in a case like this?

Thank you in advance for any advice or experiences you can share.

I’m also aware of another CET student from the same programme who successfully enrolled through the Student Portal in July, around two weeks ago. This has left us confused, as we were informed that the enrolment period had already closed in May.

Picked and paid for wrong module

ello everybody the context is I already paid for the course and realized that the timing of the class is 12-3pm which of course as a part time student I can't make it and I didn't realize it until a few days after I paid for the course and stuff .....

Has anyone experience this before ? Would the school allow a change of mod or mod time ? :'(

What to wear for ETB

(URGENT!!) Hello, for those that have gone for ETB, can I ask what did y'all wear? (E.g. jeans? Shorts? Prev school shirts? --i saw a lot of people wearing jc/ poly shirts for ori, not sure for ETB though since I don't see any posts so far. Casual? Idk) The pdf only said to dress appropriately but I'm not quite sure what outfit would be good for the activities we will be doing for the 3 days

(Also where did y'all meet your groups? The pdf showed entry points of the school but not the venue we are supposed to report to)

Edit: I haven't gotten the details abt attire and venues from my SL yet even though my run starts tmr so tysm for all the responses!

Free elective requirement

I’m having a headache trying to understand this😭 sorry it’s been a long day

Is “Note 1” saying, I need to have already complete 40cu in my major, to take Free Electives?

Or, I must complete 40cu of Lvl 2 and above mods of Free Electives to graduate?

lost y2 student pls help

hello friends… im starting y2s1 (ft) next month and since it is add/drop season, i am reaching out for some advice. ever since i started bidding for courses, suss has always only offered me 5 courses even thiugh i bid for 6 (or up to 7 iirc, as my last semester i underbidded and ended with only 5). i have declared minor for health psych but i have never been offered any of the courses i bid for… i understand the whole situation about minor courses but i want to ask if any seniors have had this similar experience as me before. i am just worried that my graduation would be greatly delayed (by greatly, i mean more than 1 sem) if i go down this road of being under-subscribed in future semesters. PLUS my eCR was so terrible i couldnt get any nie301, nco205 etcetc this has stressed me out since march omgosh….

any advice would be appreciated thank you guys :( just worried for my uni path here

Advice on Masters in Research

Am thinking on taking on the masters in applied research given that I’m already working in a field that’s relevant to SUSS’s Research Focus, but wanted to understand the experience of the people who have went before applying.

For those who have went, how would you describe the rigour and the intensity of the course? Was it difficult for you to source an internal thesis supervisor? How much support does the school provide to the individual, in terms of more administrative processes such as submission of study for IRB, general school admission etc?

How would you also compare this Masters to the others provided by the Big 3, in terms of rigour and the modules?
