Really hoping someone in Suzhou can help me reach a local textile company — I've hit a wall after months of trying

Hi everyone,

I run a small textile materials startup in India, and I'm reaching out here because I've genuinely run out of ideas and I'm hoping someone in this community might be able to help.

I've been trying for months to get in touch with a manufacturer based in Suzhou ; Suzhou Lifei Textile Co., Ltd. (苏州市利飞纺织品有限公司)

Address: No. 221 Sudai Road, Huangqiao Town, Xiangcheng District, Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province, China - 215132 ,

About a fiber sourcing and technical collaboration that matters a lot to my company's next steps. I've sent emails, gone through sourcing intermediaries, tried every channel I could think of from overseas and I haven't been able to get a single response. I know that's not unusual for cold outreach from abroad, but I'm at the point where I could really use some local help.

If you're based in Suzhou, work in textiles or manufacturing, or just know how business introductions tend to work there, I would be so grateful for any guidance at all even something small, like:

  • A better way to reach a company like this (I've heard WeChat works far better than email for this kind of thing, but I don't have a way in)
  • Someone who can visit this place if you are crossing by and get me some email or a contact
  • Or just honest advice on how to get a first response from a Suzhou-based manufacturer as an outsider from India

I'm happy to share more details by DM, and I'd genuinely appreciate even a small pointer in the right direction. Thank you so much to anyone who reads this, it means a lot.

Foreigner that got aggressive near Olympic Center

You were that bald guy with golden teeth driving a black EV near olympic center at 1pm. I saw how you were recklessly swerving and almost hit my driver that was trying to pick me up. Instead of apologizing, you got rolled down your window and got incredibly aggressive. If you do not even have basic respect for people, I think the CCP should deport your ugly ass to whatever shithole you came from.

How do I make friends as an international student in Xjtlu?

I just received my unconditional offer and was wondering if there are any online spaces to meet other students.

I’m in the freshman main WeChat group form but that’s more formal than friend making and I just want to meet people who are also looking for friends.

XJTLU Academic Calendar

I was wondering when does the 2026-2027 academic calendar drop? Because UNNC sent theirs out I wanted to know when XJTLU drops theirs.

And is it just the same each year or does it differ?

insights on XJTLU (and looking to connect for August intake!)

Hey everyone!

I’m an international student from India (19M), and I just finalized everything to join the Robotics and Mechatronics program at XJTLU this August. I'm super excited to move to Suzhou, and since everything is locked in now, I really want to connect with people who are joining this semester. If you're starting the same course, or honestly just joining the uni in general, drop a comment or slide into my DMs so we can link up and figure things out together!

For the seniors or anyone already living in Suzhou, I could use some unfiltered insights on how things actually work out there, especially regarding housing and setting up.

I’m looking to get a spacious room that has a built-in kitchen and a proper, large study desk setup since I'll be doing a lot of engineering work. I've heard about places like Parfait, Wencui, and Scholar’s Garden, but I'm trying to figure out which option actually gives you a decent-sized private space with a kitchen while still keeping a good social life to meet people from different majors. What kind of monthly price range should I realistically expect for a setup like that over there?

Also, what is the day-one installation and setup process like once you land? I’m trying to find the easiest way to handle getting a local SIM card, setting up mobile communication, and sorting out the banking/digital payment apps. Let me know if there are specific apps I should definitely install before leaving home.

For getting around, how is the daily transportation? Do most students just use the metro and buses, or is it better to rely on bikes to navigate campus and the rest of Suzhou?

On the personal side, I’m a vegetarian, so I’m a bit nervous about navigating the campus canteens. Is there a decent variety for us, or should I start practicing my cooking skills for the shared/built-in kitchens right now? Also, I'd love to know what the general engineering vibe is like—do students get to jump into the labs and hands-on competitions early on?

If you're heading to campus this August or are already out there, let me know your thoughts or any tips for a newcomer.

Hit me up or DM me! :D

Problem with master application

Hi everyone,

A friend of mine has been admitted to a master’s program in Xi’an jiaotong Liverpool university but the university requires the official bachelor’s degree certificate to finalize the enrollment.

The issue is that in France, although the bachelor’s degree has been completed and officially validated, the physical diploma is often issued several months later, sometimes close to a year after graduation. At the moment, he only has an official certificate confirming that he successfully completed his degree.

Has anyone else experienced this when applying to a Chinese university (or another international university)? Was an official graduation certificate or certificate of completion accepted while waiting for the final diploma? If so, how did you handle it?

Any advice or experience would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Bars in Suzhou

Hi,
I (22M) am currently in Suzhou for a total of 9 weeks as part of a student exchange program. I'm in my 4th week now and wanted to ask if you have any recommendations for an expat bar or something similar. Are there any karaoke bars or places like that you can recommend? I've already been to Jenny's Bar and the DDR Club on Ligondi, but I wasn't really convinced by them.

Thanks!

XJTLU undergraduate unconditional offer

Hi, I applied to XJTLU for undergraduate studies and received a conditional offer. (I'm an international student, Indian, living in Thailand.)

After I received and submitted my documents, they emailed me about three days later saying they wanted protected/locked files. So, I obtained the locked files from my high school and submitted them. Before that, I had asked them if I should ask my school to send the documents directly to the university. They replied about four days later saying yes, I could do that (with no reply regarding the files I had already uploaded to the portal). They randomly emailed me earlier, stating that I wouldn't get any scholarship but still didn't update me on the offer or if my documents were accepted. I asked my high school to email the documents to them.

I don't know what's wrong, but why can't they reply quicker? I'm dependent on these results for an unconditional offer.

Is anyone else having the same issue? Or does anyone have another way to contact them?

Update: they emailed me asking me to ask my High school to email then documents instead and they don't accept the locked documents i submitted.
