Car agreed value $1500 less than I paid?

I can only afford a cheap car right now.

Found a dealer used 2012 Suzuki Alto, 75,000km

They will only come down to $5,500 lowest

I think it's a good price for the kms

But RAC will only agree value at $4,000

I've checked other insurers and their agreed value is even less ($2800)

Would this be a risky purchase

If I were to crash on way home say, I would lose $1500

Thoughts?

Kizashi GTS help!!

This is my manual 2012 Kizashi GTS. I’m hoping it’s just a low voltage issue and I can just replace the battery. When I start the car and accelerate, there is a flash or two of a “service ESP system warning” (electronic stability program). When that warning happens, there is a flicker of all electronics and the power steering freezes leaving the steering wheel heavy/feeling locked up and then it disappears for the rest of the ride.

To my understanding, the kizashi has electronic power steering which seems to be closely linked to the esp system. Does any other Suzuki owner have this problem and know what’s going on?

Really miss my Suzuki SX4 that recently got totaled. Would it be a terrible idea to get another one?

Long story short, got rammed at a stop sign recently and the person-who-hit-me’s insurance company decided that my car was worth ~$600 less than what the body shop said it would take to fix. Therefore, they decided to total it. Currently waiting on a check from them to buy a new car. I always buy older and outright; financing isn’t an option.

My mechanic, a friend of a friend, is heavily suggesting I get a 2010’s Toyota. He’s been helping me look online for almost a week now, but with limited luck.

The thing is, I *loved* my car. It was a 2009 Suzuki SX4 and, while it wasn’t perfect, it was great in the snow (I live in PA), great for hauling stuff (was even able to tow my partner’s early 90’s Ford F150 out of a snowbank a few winters ago), and super practical to park anywhere. It was going to need some work to pass inspection this year, but I’ve already started saving to put money into to keep it going forever.

The other thing is, I know Suzuki doesn’t deal car parts to the US or Canada anymore, which is a problem. My mechanic and his business partner suggested i steer away from getting another one for this reason, but I can’t find much of anything that I actually want for either personal or work (I do catering) purposes.

I found a low-miles, later model SX4 for sale online last night that I could buy with about half of the check that I’m getting, so could squirrel that money away for later repairs.

Basically what I need to hear though is: is it worth it to buy another of what is basically my dream car or do I need to give up and move on due to the limited parts availability?

Kizashi appreciation?

I love this car, super fun to drive. It's a damn shame there was only one generation! Working on fixing her up as much as I can, parts are definitely a pain in the ass to find but I'm kind of enjoying the scavenger hunt.

X7 Not Starting

So here’s the issue. I’ve got 2008 XL7. It won’t start on its own. I put the key in and nothing happens. No lights, no ac, no nothing. If I jump it off another vehicle, it starts and runs. But the moment I put it into gear or remove the jumper cables, the engine dies. Just before it died, the engine was surging while driving. I’m clueless as to the fix. Anyone got ideas I can check out?

ZC31S M16A oil level reading confusion

ZC31S / M16A owners, how do you properly check your engine oil level?

After fresh oil service, my cold morning dipstick reading is slightly below max instead of exactly full. But if I start the engine briefly, turn it off, wait a few minutes and check again, it reads closer to full.

Is this normal behavior on the M16A dipstick?

Also, for older/high mileage M16A engines, how much oil consumption between oil changes is considered acceptable?

Back on the road after an engine swap

I just spent a week learning how to replace the F10A engine, now this little camper is back on the road! - used (57K) bare engine onto old gearbox. New timing belt, radiator, temperature sender and thermostat, oil and filter change

This is a 1988 Bedford Rascal, a rebadged version of the seventh-generation Suzuki Carry (ST90/SK410 series, 980cc, 45HP) cat for scale

The back is demountable leaving a tiny flatbed truck when I need it

Suzuki Baleno II (2017) 1.2 DualJet – problemy z układem kierowniczym i częściami

Cześć wszystkim!

Kilka tygodni temu kupiłem Suzuki Baleno z 2017 Premium Plus (silnik 1.2 DualJet). 135tyś km. Polski salon od pierwszych właścicieli.

Autko dość fajnie wyposażone:

Multifunkcja, Radar, tempomat adaptacyjny, manualna klima, przednie szyby w prądzie, podstawowe radio z BT, podgrzewane fotele, światła dzienne LED w zderzaku, Tylne postojowe/stop LED, czujniki parkowania tył, czujniki ciśnienia,

  1. Układ kierowniczy:

To mój główny punkt zainteresowania. Czy ktoś z Was przechodził temat "sztywnej" kierownicy albo braku powracania do pozycji zero?

EDIT: Znalazłem to > https://www.reddit.com/r/CarsIndia/s/r3W8eFf21x

Jak to wygląda u Was? Czy w Waszych Suzuki też występuje ten problem ?

Czy ktoś z Was był z tym problemem w ASO? Może po gwarancji? I jak do tego podejść, żeby nie wymieniać połowy auta na darmo?

  1. Dostępność części nowych i używanych

Przeglądałem kilka hurtowni. Części zamiennych jak na lekarstwo. Bardziej same eksploatacyjne tarcze/klocki/spinki/filtry/olej

Olx/otomoto/alledrogo ceny używanych przerażają 😂

Gdzie jeszcze szukacie części do niego ? Teren Małopolski i Śląska

Will there be a new S-cross later this year?

I have been in the market for awhile to get a new bigger car (going from a Yaris) for all the outdoor stuff I now do (lots of gravel roads)

I was very close to getting the AWD S Cross at the beginning of the year but did not really like that it was only partial hybrid and also really old tech (I want more than 1 USB port and didn't want to mess around with electronics cand cutting into things to install more where I wanted them).

Does anyone know if they are doing a revamp? I know the last one was exterior only so was hoping they would be doing an interior one and maybe doing proper hybird.

Looking on youtube and some websites there seems to be lots of AI type videos but nothing really "Real".

Note: I did already put down a refundable deposit for the entry level AWD Rav 4 when it comes out but the first ones are not due in my country until early next year so if something was out later this year, i probably would be going for that. Wanted something before the summer (New Zealand).

Just running after who knows how long 1979 Suzuki GS1000EN

Bought this on auction, not running, brakes locked, clutch stuck. But had compression, spark, starter good, electricals in apparent good order. I don't know what its history was or how long it sat, but had 9500 miles on the odometer. Definitely stored indoors, and whoever stored it did a good job of removing all the fuel; tank is clean. As far as could tell, the only non-original bits were the mirrors.

Stripped down, painted frame, cleaned up every part, evaporust where needed, sand blast and repaint all. New wheel and swing arm bearings, fork seals, caliper and master cylinder rebuild, carbs rebuilt, new cables, brake lines, chain sprockets, etc.

Put a few hundred miles on it, and so far no real issues other than getting the clutch to break where I like it and a leaky petcock. Carbs required no corrections to balance all!

Rides nice! Very comfortable, not like super quick or anything (other bike is bmw s1000xr, so I might be skewed). Quick enough, and while I wouldn't call it flickable because that heavy 19in front aluminum wheel, it corners confidently.

Most parts were already in good working order (pipes are the crustiest item, but original),and paint was good enough that I thought better to leave original if has a bit of patina.

Was a great project and I expect will remain an awesome bike.

The Suzuki LC Concept (short for "Light Car") is a retro-styled two-seater city car that debuted at the 2005 Tokyo Motor Show. It was designed as a modern homage to the 1955 Suzulight, Suzuki's first passenger car, and the 1967 Fronte 360.

The LC Concept is known for its "unbearably cute" appearance, featuring rounded shapes and minimal decoration.

Its silhouette resembles classic small cars like the Fiat 850 or original Mini, with large circular headlights and an oval grille.

The cabin follows a 1950s/60s aesthetic with a beige and bright-red color scheme. It features plaid-patterned seats, a spartan dashboard, and a retro three-spoke steering wheel.

As a kei car study, the LC Concept was built for urban agility rather than speed.

Powered by a rear-mounted 660cc 3-cylinder DOHC engine (Suzuki’s K-series) paired with 4-speed automatic transmission.

Power was delivered to the front wheels.

While the LC Concept never entered full production, its retro-cute DNA eventually influenced the Suzuki Lapin LC, a production model released in 2022 that uses similar design cues from the Fronte series.
