Real Diamond or Not?

This diamond ring is pretty dirty, kinda look a little rusty I'm not sure but it says 14k. The Diamond size looks to be 2 carat, the same size as one of the stones in my wedding ring. It was in a jewelry box of costume jewelry I purchased for $10 at a garage sale. I actually bought it because I liked the box itself.

Considering purchasing this pixel cut ruby

Do you think this will be good quality for the price point?

Ive read great things about House of Sylas, and the photos on his site are amazing. I'm going to put it in an old heirloom gem which currently has a scratched stone. Would love any thoughts. 3rd photo is an AI render of what it might look like.

Edit: I like his other rectangular cuts (esp. the fireworks cut) but they don't come in 10x8 mm which it has to be for the setting...

Sharing a commission piece I made for a client - 14kt channel set ring w lab diamonds, and a 9mm Lab Sapphire in light pink, elongated cushion in a modified Arya Akhavan design. It's so sparkly!

Where to buy a large raw sinthetic ruby in europe?

As the title state. I need a large (about 1cm cube ) ruby and perhaps a blue garnet too. Does anyone know where could i buy these, and how much something like this would cost?

It canot be colored glass, because they are meant to be used in a lab setup. So i am having trouble to find something that i could trust.

Which lab sapphire (2ct) looks better?

This is my stone check for a custom piece. I’m new to the custom jewelry stuff in general and I really have no idea what I should be looking for here. This is for a silver ring if that helps with color picking at all.

8 x 5.7mm Czochralski Alexandrite - Very strong teal on this piece, and always a pleasure to cut a design by Ramon Tesoro!

Where to find a heptagon cut, please?

Hi! I’m a huge fan of moissanite, the band TOOL, and my husband, and our 20th wedding anniversary is coming early 2027. TOOL is our favorite band together; being able to incorporate a bit of that into white gold anniversary jewelry would make us so happy.

I would love to find or create a ring that has a 7-sided heptagon cut stone. I have found heptagon moissanite cuts but only in a coffin shape so far. They are cute as hell but not what I’m looking for at this time.

I am not sure I’m using the correct terminology but I welcome advice and education. I also welcome other ideas and thoughts. I’d love to know who YOU trust!

Yay for space diamonds! And thank you all so much for your help.💕🤘💕

Blue gemstones for earrings — inspired by Apollo of Apollo & Artemis (the most expensive earrings ever sold)

I’m in the earliest days of my next custom jewelry project and would love some of your thoughts to help refine my plan!

I’d been kicking around the idea of a custom pair of drop earrings with CHUNKY stones when I ran across an article about “Apollo and Artemis,” the most expensive earrings ever sold.

Apollo (the blue earring) is very similar to what I had in mind. It has a 14.54 carat pear-shaped blue diamond. The stone is 22.88 x 14.63 x 7.42 mm.

Color — Light-ish blue; doesn’t have to be this shade.

Shape & Cut —** **Elongated stones (non-pear ok) with a traditional or antique cut (I love a chunky facet).

Size —** **Same mm size as Apollo or a little smaller.

Type —** **These won’t be everyday jewels, so softer stones are definitely an option. Higher RI would be a bonus given my preference for chunky facets.

Price — Definitely less than $1k USD per stone. The lower it goes the sooner this project gets completed!

Right now my leading semi-custom contender are the Djeva / House of Sylas Czochralski-grown, aqua-colored lab sapphires in the antique cushion cut. The largest semi-custom size is 17mm x 12.6mm for $870.

So with all of that —

- What stones would you pick?
- Where would you source them?
- Should I change my mind on any of my preferences??

Natural alexandrite or lab created?

I have a question about the pedant which is very old. Particularly the stone I presume it’s alexandrite, as it’s changing the colour. It’s quite hard to photograph as on the camera it’s always more purple. I attached in the daylight, under the led light and in candle light. Could you please maybe help me to identify it?

Could you please help me choose one of these three natural emeralds as the main stone for my pendant?

I don't know much about this cut, but it's quite soft and I really like it.

There are no excessive facets to allow me to appreciate the inclusions of the natural gemstone.
