Its genuinely terrifying how realistic accurate this line is

The way how people who will commit/attempt to take their lives end up regretting it as it happens and want to take it back, but it ends up being too late.

is jax actually that good of a character

like forget the transgender thing for a second, i mean as a Character, as a Literary Device (i should note this is in regards to his her writing as of episode 9 like how it made them a hilariously awful person after baiting for a redemption arc)

I love the detail throughout episode 8, when the other players look at Caine in fear, Jax is consistently shown glaring at him in anger and hatred

After all the juggling Gooseworx did with Jax, the second half of the series, and all that—is Pomni a good protagonist or a bad one?

Am I The Only One Who Thinks Isn’t She Lovely Just Doesn’t Fit?

I’ve been thinking about it for some time now and I don’t believe Isn’t She Lovely just doesn’t fit this scene. I’m wondering if I’m the only one who thinks this.

I did research on this track to figure out what it is since I had no idea of this tracks existence prior to the finale which after doing research on what the track was made for, it upsets me.

Isn’t She Lovely was created by Stevie Wonder to celebrate the birth of his daughter, Aisha. The song is meant to represent the birth of one to the world.

Yet when it plays in TADC’s finale, it just plays a montage of Jax who has been nothing but a piece of shit throughout the entire series and the finale just made him worse. If Jax didn’t abstract and opened up to Pomni, then maybe the track could’ve had a purpose to resemble his rebirth as a person? I don’t know, maybe?

Even without this, the track itself is just jarring to hear and it feels very out of place. It’s not like with Who’s Running The Show? (Banger track by the way) where the song fits the series’s tone and Caine’s character. This song however doesn’t fit whatsoever.

What annoys me more is that this scene started a trend where people used this song for other scenes which would’ve been fine if people used it for scenes that fit, but no I’ve seen people use the song for the Cars franchise of all things. I’m just confused.

Also side note, I’ve seen people saying that Glitch and Gooseworx used a cover of Isn’t She Lovely that came from a shady person, but I don’t know if that’s true or not.

What do you guys think about Tale Foundry's new video on the show?

Btw, the VA of Ribbit also comments on the video, and they about sum up how I feel about the people who get hung up by the theory crafting and headcanon-ing of TADC.

how do people find caine sexy? /genq

(posting this here cuz im deathly afraid of the main tadc sub.)

but seriously, people who make suggestive comments about him weird me out (no offense), not because of his dentures head, but rather the his proportions and behavior/mentality are all childlike. all of the fanart I've seen sexualizing him gives him fangs and an omnious expression with a different body type due to how weird simping to the actual thing would be 💔

ps: if someone tells me to stop being sensitive or ask if this is my first time in a fandom im gonna carve their username on a bullet and shoot myself in the ass.

You could put a whole gun to my head and ask me "how many times did Ragatha interact with Zooble or Gangle" and I would straight up tell you to pull the trigger.

Jax getting a lot more screentime later on isn't at all a terrible thing..the main issue is the fact that characters like Ragatha got heavily shafted and neglected and I've seen people argue she was a majorly fleshed out character.

She wasn't, knowing a few more things about her isn't the same as fully fleshing out and exploring a character.

Same goes for characters like Gangle and Zooble who's arcs just kinda..stop like in EP6 or EP7.

Their arcs aren't really given a ending or conclusion, they just kinda stop.

And I also find it weird how people will get mad at you or judge you for wanting the main cast to interact more with each other like "did we really need a scene of Ragatha and Zooble talking" or "Pomni and Zooble"

Like..YES?

This is a character driven show,I expect these cast members to talk amongst themselves and develop amongst themselves.

Ok so what did Jax mean by this?

Because I'm so confused because she says this but nothing about ribbit or kaufmo seemed unpleasant before they abstracted, now I will say Jax did seem unpleasant before she abstracted but like there was nothing for that for ribbit and kaufmo so I'm confused

I've seen people argue that the episode count was the issue and I would agree..if this show didn't exist and accomplish more with the characters and their arcs in more or less the same amount of time.

Over the Garden Wall is proof you can tell a fully realized story with good arcs and overall consistent growth amongst the cast and good worldbuilding and lore.

It's not impossible but issue was that Gooseworks bit off way more then she could chew in this show.

She basically gave herself a big cast with 9 episodes and thought that would be enough but she lacked the writing experience or foresight to handle each of these characters properly with a consistent arc and actual equal focus amongst the cast and not just pour everything into one character.

Also TADC feels more rushed cause this is a character driven show and everyone except Jax barely feels properly fleshed out and explored beyond their basic bullshit..Pomni and Kinger are the closest things to "fleshed out" and even that's debatable and even Jax's arc feels as wide as a ocean but as rushed as a bad pool digging and as shallow as a puzzle.

None of the cast ever really talks or bonds with each other outside of trauma dumping or unless the plot demands it.

Gooseworks has a good amount of potential as a writer and storyteller + this was her first overall major project, so I understand there being massive hiccups here and there but I really pray she swallows her pride and gets a co-writer or a more experienced writing team.

Is there a good reason why the TADC fanbase can't take an itty bitty tiny bit of criticism?

Literally. Just give a criticism about the show and the fans will label you a hater or a fake fan.

You Know What They Should’ve Done? (My Opinion)

Instead of making Jax basically indirectly kill Ribbit with his attitude, have the convo leading to them developing a closer bond.

The talk up on the mountain wasn’t an argument, it was their last happy memory together. Maybe even add a scene up there that hints at Ribbit’s internal struggles, but Jax doesn’t push hard enough to get an answer out of her because she says she’s fine and even though he knows something is wrong, he doesn’t push it.

Ribbit soon becomes distant and then a few days later, have the same scene with Jax knock on Ribbit’s door only to transition to him hiding from her abstraction.

Have it turn out to be that Ribbit abstracted without warning, causing Jax to feel not only heartbroken but betrayed. His closest friend just abstracted and no one will ever know why nor will Jax know if it was somehow his fault or if he could’ve changed the outcome if he just pushed a little harder.

Then once Kaufmo offers his support, Jax goes off and the flashback continues as originally shown.

Jax is afraid to get close to anyone again, because he doesn’t want them to leave him. I feel like his mindset would be “Why get close to someone else if they’re just going to leave me too?”

Yeah Pomni and Jax might’ve been good friends, but in Jax’s mind, how long would it have been till she herself distanced herself and ended up like Ribbit the second she got the chance. He couldn’t handle that again.

But that’s just my thoughts, maybe y’all disagree.

You know what?I actually kinda wish that Jax was somewhat right or true about this cause at least that would've been something genuinely interesting.

(Ignore the reddit watermark)

This show has all these cool themes and set-ups and interesting ideas and concepts but the writing is just way too sloppy and rushed and not good enough to either actually properly convey them or properly execute them at all.

I have a really controversial take and it's that I feel like Gooseworks made Jax way too much of a cartoon villain in the last episode.

Like yeah, he was a asshole before but he felt way more balanced and nuanced as a overall character but it just felt like Gooseworks saw that people liked him and even sympathized with him at times or were invested in their character and just want amplified it.

But even ignoring that, I actually wish that people did get worse or more self destructive and awful as they begin to abstract cause that actually would've been something interesting, something nuanced and actually made characters like Ribbet and Kaufmo somewhat interesting and not just basic plot devices made to make you despise Jax and be happy that he killed himself and got replaced with a A.I ringmaster who went "I'm Sowwy."

Jax as a character feels both like they take up too screentime yet their overall character arc still feels extremely rushed cause almost all of his arc and development and ending and past happened in the last 1 episode or 2 episodes, so it feels extremely rushed and it's the fact that it's at the expense of other characters as well.

The way I see it,Gooseworks genuinely needed either both a Co-writer(someone to run and bounce ideas off and by)or just a overall bigger team of writers since she's inexperienced herself.

This show in general has really interesting themes and concepts and ideas and character ideas/concepts but the writing and execution isn't good enough unfortunately to properly convey and handle them.

This show has 1 season and 9 episodes when the overall writing and storytelling could've used either more episodes or a S2 cause it feels extremely rushed and characters minus Jax end up being barely fleshed out or explored beyond their basic traits and maybe their personality while Jax feels both overwritten and still has a really rushed character arc and conclusion.

Gooseworks has overall good ideas and deep themed ideas but just lacks the actual experience and overall writing skill to properly convey, express and handle them in a well written and satisfying way for storytelling.

This show is really rushed and it's not cause of the episode count cause you can write a fully realized story with good characters and arcs in a short time frame as long as you're knowing what you're doing but cause Gooseworks either didn't know what she was doing or just lacked the experience to properly know how to do these things, this show ends up falling flat.

Gooseworks isn't necessarily a full on garbage writer but my God,I hope she goes back to the basics of writing and explores and gets more experience before she starts any new project.
