Dilemma regarding Dolby Atmos

I am new to Dolby Atmos on Tidal. And realized it has more focus on vocals which it has an affect i like, but can miss some magic it gives. The thing is, i have like 1000+ songs saved & i don't want to redownload everything all over again, and i also heard DA takes more space. I can download only the ones i really do feel the difference and crisp of the voice, but i don't know. I would very appriciate help on this topic!

price increase without a warning

Tidal just tried to charge my card more than normal and I don't have any emails from them notifying of a price increase. Is this an error or did I miss some news?

My song ended up getting a Spotlight Award and is on the top of Uploads!

This is super exciting and I'm not sure where to share it but thanks to the editors for picking it! It also got added to the ALT Radio Playlist!

Is anyone else having issues today with artist radios being full of completely random unrelated artists/songs

Was listening to an artist radio earlier today then came back to it a couple hours later and all the tracks changed to a bunch of completely random ones that had no similarity to the artist I was listening to, and it seems now to be the case with every artist radio I've looked at since this happened. For example I was listening to a german rap artist's radio and it went from being a bunch of similar artists to random stuff like K-Drama soundtracks, old samba music, funk, midwest emo, etc, just all over the place

Did the recent update screw the algorithm entirely?

When I turned on my normal radio this morning it started playing music ENTIRELY unrelated to that artist. I haven't even listened to anything remotely close to it either, which is the weird part. I changed to a different artist radio and the same thing, a bunch of random crap that's not even playing the same sport, much less in the same ballpark. Wtf happened?

On The Ongoing Ridiculousness of Streaming Orchestral/Classical Music.

How hard would it be for actual composers to be included when you click 'Go to artist' ? Do streaming platforms seriously imagine that people are looking for more by that orchestra/conductor when they click that ?

All downloads are 320kbps?

My settings clearly state that I want MAX quality in all my downloads, and the rest of my downloads up to this point are all HiRes FLAC, but starting today, no matter what I want to download, it downloads in 320kbps AAC.

Is this happening to anyone else?

Getting used to new interface

I am noticing about myself that i am indeed getting used to the new playing now interface.

I also take into notice that Tidal is constantly fixing issues quietly, for example the coloring of the background, keep it up Tidal! 🤩 for the others: please stop complaning on here 24/7, you can explain your issue/opinion without roasting the app.

Tidal this is very important for gamers...

Don't ever, under any circumstances, automatically force focus on Tidal...

I was in the middle of an online match enjoying music in the background, suddenly "something went wrong" in Tidal and it alt tabs out of my game. This simply can't ever happen, you need to remove that line of code out of existence if you want gamers to trust having Tidal on.

Edit: how the hell is my post upvoted but every single comment is downvoted

Tidal Icons Inspired in Aero

I was bored, so I looked for a Tidal icon in the Frutiger Aero style. Since I couldn't find one, I made it myself. I hope you like it :)

Tidal used to count streams even if I was offline but now they don’t.😕 I’ve been listening to Drake’s albums since Friday but only 130 streams have counted…

Why they keep ruining their app man. I’ve been using Tidal since 2017 but I’m starting to hate it :) their quality of music which kept me staying

Thanks for the update

Apparently there’s been an update. An update which deleted all my downloads (gigabytes) then set about redownloading them on my mobile data plan which is now borked for the month.

Thanks Tidal, great work.

This shit has been going on for DAYS now

Either they get off their asses and fix it or I go back to Spotify. I will not continue to pay $12 a month for a service that doesn't work

Tidal new UI is sh*t

Hey, this isn’t so much a request for support as it is user feedback—a sentiment widely shared among my friends and family these days.

I’m extremely disappointed with Tidal’s new design. As a loyal user for years, I was initially pleased a few months ago to see Tidal transform into a more modern and streamlined interface while retaining its visual identity.

However, for about a month now—first on PC, then on mobile—the platform has completely adopted Spotify’s graphical elements and interactions: the “+” to add a track to favorites, which turns into a “✓” once added (just like on Spotify); a “lyrics” button; the display of lyrics, the various other buttons and their layout, the presentation of the current track, and even the shape of the graphic elements…

This “Spotify-ization” is very disappointing.

The most disappointing aspect is the prominence given to the audio format on the playback page. Whereas it previously occupied a central position in the graphic layout—with a color associated with each codec and a dedicated box—it is now relegated to the background: below the timeline bar, transparent, and “colorless.”

This is all the more problematic given that this indication of the audio format is at the heart of Tidal’s messaging, as the service aims to offer the best streaming audio format among its competitors. It makes no sense to relegate such an element when it is the main marketing selling point.

Finally, regarding the bug, this codec indicator disappears when you switch to another app (without closing Tidal), but reappears when you return to Tidal.

In short, while some are celebrating a “good alternative” to Spotify, I see this as a specific criticism from those who were loyal to the platform for what it offered; the semi-professional and high-quality aspect is being sacrificed in favor of mass-market marketing.

When an album disappears and reappears will the corresponding track also disappear forever off playlists?

Like every streamer, Tidal has a really annoying feature where albums are constantly getting unfavorited. I think this usually happens because updated versions get uploaded, but it's infuriating how often this happened to me on Deezer and now Tidal and it's not uncommon that I have to re-follow every single album in someone's catalogue.

What I'm wondering is if playlists somehow retain memory of these tracks or if any time there's an album hiccup your playlist basically drops the track. I'm hoping the latter isn't the case because it would be doubly irritating if my neurotically curated playlists are constantly losing tracks.
