Has anyone gotten their KTN on the same day they went in for their in person appt?
I have an appt for my wife to get yrs precheck. She’s a dual citizen. Wondering if anyone’s gotten their KTN on the same day of an appt.

Today I did my in-person at Office Depot for my TSA PreCheck. It was finished at 1:32PM Eastern time. I received a text message at 6:37PM that it was submitted to TSA for approval. I am a veteran, I have a small background (young and dumb) but nothing major (no felonies). I used my passport as well. I know months ago, I bought a firearm. So I know if that was approved, this will get approved. I just really want to know what my realistic timeline would be.
I will update once it comes in.
Applied: 8/15
In Person: 8/17
Submitted to TSA: 8/17
My TSA PreCheck is up for renewal. I go online and find three options with different pricing. Why is this? And are there advantages / differences with these options? TIA.
Clear: $69.95
Idemia: $58.75
Telos: $69.95
For example if my middle names were Daisy Rose and my ticket was accidentally booked (not by me I hasten to add) as Daisyrose, will my pre check be OK? Lady at the processing office seemed to think not. Just want 2nd opinions, not sure how easy it is to fix.
I’m 18 and I’ve never had a state ID or driver’s license before. I need to fly soon and I’m trying to figure out whether I’m actually going to be able to get through TSA using ConfirmID.
My biggest concern is that because I’ve never had an ID, I’m worried I might not have enough information in whatever databases ConfirmID uses to verify me. I basically have no history of using a government-issued photo ID, so I’m scared the verification is just going to fail because there’s not enough information on me.
For anyone who has actually used ConfirmID at the airport, especially if you didnt have one or never have had one, what was your experience
Did TSA accept it without a problem?
If ConfirmID failed, what happened afterward?
I’m mostly trying to figure out how realistic my chances are. I don’t want to spend money on a plane ticket if there’s a significant chance I’m going to get turned away at the airport.
I know nobody can guarantee what TSA will do, but I’d really appreciate hearing from people who have actually been in this situation. I’m especially interested in experiences from people who never had an ID, rather than people who just forgot/lost theirs.
I’m flying out tomorrow with a thc pen on a Canadian domestic flight. I am underage by a year. I heard from some buddies that they don’t care because it’s legal to fly with in Canada and I’m wondering if they’re right. It’s legal to fly with but I’m not sure if they’ll take it out of my bag or something. I’m flying domestic btw.
please help me find this in canada!
Flew out of Ontario, California today. It was crazy. There was one TSA agent handling both Precheck and standard passengers. The Precheck line took significantly longer. The TSA agents are out of their minds! Precheck passengers are supposed to get first class service at TSA regardless of where they're sitting on the plane.
How do we get a refund for the tsa verification ? I feel like I got scammed out of $42
Bought flights from STL to CUN and input my known traveler number. Everything goes through and my boarding pass shows the TSA precheck mark.
Go through precheck line, only to have the TSA agent tell me that I dont have precheck. Ignores my boarding pass and says the airline didnt send it through. I can either go through the normal line or go back upstairs to the ticket counter.
First time flying Frontier and first time this has happened. Anyone else?
I'll be traveling with my cat shortly. I understand that I can request a room to take the cat out and go through a metal detector. Is this possible at LAX? Do I need to coordinate with TSA prior to me getting there? I do have TSA pre-check.
Thank you.
Hopefully I worded that right. I have TSA pre check and am traveling with three minors. Two are under the age or 8 and are included in my original reservation. The third is my 17 year old brother. I have notarized permission to travel letters from all of our parents. My 17 year old brothers ticket was purchased months later because he decided he did want to go on the trip. I understand the two under 8 can go with me through the tsa pre check line. I wanted to know if I can add my brother or link our reservations so the tsa pre check appears on his boarding pass. We are flying united internationally in less than 4 days so I doubt he’d get approved in time for him to get his own KTN. I was going to call but maybe someone here knows the answer. I know I should’ve gotten his pre check done earlier I really don’t have any excuse as to why I didn’t do it. If anyone knows if it’s possible to link our reservations please let me know.
Update: we flew out he went through TSA on his own and boarded on his own as we were in different groups everything worked out!! Thank you everyone for the replies!
Kid, large luggage, check-in and CLEAR office in a different terminal. I'd prefer to check my bags then do the interview so I don't have to carry a bunch of stuff between terminals, but do they inform in the boarding pass you're TSA Pre? If so would be better to do the interview first then check-in?
Thanks in advance!
Hi all!
Traveling to Fort Lauderdale from Rockford and have a question about my expired passport. It expired less than 2 years ago so I was banking on being able to still use it for this domestic flight. However I remembered that the passport is in my maiden name. I have a copy of my marriage certificate I was planning to bring. Obviously I had booked the flight under my current name.
Any insight on if this will work or be an issue? I do have TSA precheck known traveler number although IDK if that makes any difference.... I do not travel often if you can't tell.
Hello Everyone, I have a trip to Mexico this 24 of August. LAX to GUADALAJARA MX. I accidentally washed my passport. Do you think they will let me fly? I’m worried they will deny me. I used the app READID and it scanned the main page (plastic) and the chip. Nothing is smudged everything looks good. Opinions? Suggestions? Should I replace?
I nearly missed my flight today due to heavy traffic to the airport. And today was my first time using touchless ID, I went through TSA in less than 2 mins. Had I not have precheck, I would’ve missed my flight and pay another $800 for the next flight. Gate lady was literally ready to close the door when I got there.
My KTN only contains letters - it has no numbers (or anything that can be mistaken for a number like a 1 or 0). I got my TSA pre check through CLEAR. Is it normal to only have letters as my KTN?
