Hey everyone!

​I’m heading to the Texas Renaissance Festival for the very first time tomorrow and I can’t wait! I went to Sherwood Forest Faire last year and absolutely loved the vibe, so I’m super hyped to experience TRF for Opening Weekend and immerse myself in the community. I’ve got a shirt together to get into garb for the day, but I’m definitely looking forward to eating some amazing feast food and shopping around for new gear/garb to build out my full outfit!

​I’m bringing my camera along to capture the day and had a quick question for the photographers and veterans here:

​What’s the best etiquette for taking photos around the faire? I’d love to capture some great candid moments of the atmosphere and people, but I want to make sure I’m respecting everyone. Is candid street photography cool, or is it better to ask permission before snapping pictures of individuals in awesome garb?

​Pumped to explore the grounds, try some great food, meet new people, and soak it all in tomorrow! Any must-try food spots or favorite shop recommendations are welcome!

Hey guys this will be my first time camping at TRF and my second ever visit to the faire. what are some things I should to look out for at the camp grounds for a first timer(what are some things I should bring on top pf the usual camping supplies ). I'm also curious on making friends at the camp grounds and how the after parties work. I have heard the clans are great to hangout with but from what understand you have to have a direct invite from them. any advice would be greatly appreciated. also using this to try to make a few friends before.

Does anyone know how much a day pass is for the smoking crow cigar lounge is ? I believe it's called the black feather lounge. Heard about it on the TRF podcast and I am excited.

I am looking to do a plague rat costume for my first day and a different outfit for my second day. I planned on doing hand stamps, with consent, to give people the plague like I have seen at ren faires before but I read online that can be frowned upon at the Texas Ren Faire. Would i be ok to give people plague stamps? And if not I planned on doing stickers instead but I don't have the time or means to make homemade ones like with a cricut so is it frowned upon to do amazon stickers?

I’m running a side quest during the 1001 Dreams weekend at the TRF. I’ll be roaming the grounds as a dark fey, (super vague ik but I gotta make it a little challenging, just look for the biggest bat wings) and I’m challenging anyone bold enough to track me down.

If you find me and give me the correct answer to my riddle, I’ll reward the first 18 adventurers with a prize!

My friend and I are going to TRF next weekend for the first time. We’re camping from Friday-Sunday. Any advice is welcome! Day one we’re going as Sun/moon fairies, day 2 we’re going as an alchemist and a jester. I’ve been to one two-day ren faire before but never something this big. Any tips about parties, booths we should visit, shows we should see, etc.?

My wife and I will be there pirate weekend. We were looking forward to the pub crawl on Saturday but it looks like it’s already sold out. Any ideas for alternative activities? We are looking at the wine tasting and maybe the RenMeade or bourbon/rum. Any other suggestions?

How hard is it to stay cool? Any tips?

The weight and fit aren’t a concern to me, just gauging how likely I am to get boiled alive on a November weekend.

I’m taking my son for 1001 nights weekend and would appreciate any advice. I’ve been before but just during the day. He has never been. We are planning on dressing up. What’s the camping situation like? Best places to be? Anything everything?

Hello, I’m back with another question. I’ve heard flooding happens sometimes at the camp grounds and I’ve been lucky enough not to be there when it happens. I know some areas get more flooded than others and was wondering if anyone knows where that usually happens. Thank you in advance!

I keep trying to get tickets on the TRF website for Halloween weekend and it keeps saying they can’t process my order. Please don’t tell me they’re sold out???
