I havent read the manga , but is there any differences between the show and the manga?
I actually knew about the series when it was only a manga, and I got to the part when Maria wanted to talk to Shizuku in the forest, and what happened after. I had to watch something a little less depressing afterwards.
I finished watching the show yesterday, and I would give it a 10/10.
I really liked the animation. I really like how the characters look weak; it makes what happens to them feel even more tragic, in my opinion. The art was really good.
I really liked the opening song and the ending song.
I feel like there is a deeper meaning. I really couldn't figure it out, other than there's a reason for things happening.
I usually write my thoughts as I watch shows, but I was really immersed to write anything.
My favorite character is Takopi. I have a really hard time understanding social situations, and I want to try to be as positive as he is.
My 2nd favorite character is Marina. There was a scene when she wanted to hold Azuma's hand, and he stepped back because he noticed Shizuku. She asks him, "Sorry, did that make you feel uncomfortable?" I will say I dislike how she treated Shizuku, and that was wrong.
My 3rd favorite character is Shizuku. I relate a little bit, not how she uses others, but near the end where she cried and wondered why she was suffering.
I think the anime did a good job at showing the severity of mental health, in my own opinion, and how one thing can be the turning point. For Shizuku, it was her dog.
As for recommendation, I want to give a really big warning. It's really dark. Give episode 1 a watch and see if you want to continue. It's very dark, and it mentions it at the start.
It really makes me feel empty afterwards.
The adults are at fault here, in my opinion.
Overall, I really enjoyed it.
I was sure that Takopi's original sin would get at least one award on anime of the year awards on Crunchyroll, but it didn't get anything. What do you mean?! This masterpiece doesn't deserve any rewards?! What do you mean The Apothecary Diaries season 2 had better drama than Takopi's Original Sin?! That is total bullshit and it is injustice to this anime. I am glad that I stopped my subscription to this shitty service.
These characters are very well written. The human condition is such a complex thing. Honestly, this might've been just what I needed. Seeing Tokapi's innocence and lack of understanding, I really saw my siblings in that. I've been thinking about the rope for awhile now. It's just that Tokapi can't understand, they won't either. Seeing the pain in Tokapi, not understanding what she did to herself. I... I just can't let them find me like that.
"Digital camera? That feels kinda nostalgic."
Question for the anime opening;
Kuze is holding Chappie=makes sense
Azuma is next to his brother=ok sure
Why is Marina with these girls? I see that she always with them for the most part talking trash about abuse and her life but why are they so important for visual significance for the opening. Does she need external positive validation from others to feel more normal since her home life is anything but?
Takopi, kuze, and azuma all at some point said the phrase bye bye
Marina never did; I wonder if that meant anything?
It’s very strange and funny to hear Marina daggered eyes at Kuze while screaming through her teeth die!
The characters are in middle school specifically fourth grade so they are probably 10 to 9 years old so their way of thinking is totally accurate
Also in the part when they grow old we can see the change of personality
Setting aside unknowns like the Box's durability to avoid it breaking during this process - assuming it were possible they could've shrank it down over and over to essentially crush her into a tiny compressed pill of unrecognizable remains then buried it. Like, the size of a Tylenol. Practically impossible to find out in the woods due to small size, presumably airtight and there's canonically no decomp so there's no scent for animals to dig up, seems foolproof.
Even if it only got down to the pencil-case size its introduced as, that's still way more discreet than the full on casket size they leave it as.
Of course they're 9 year olds and probably wouldn't think to do this, also there'd obviously be no plot if it happened, just a random thought on my 10th+ rewatch.
Love ya!
