Yet again. Cant be surprised anymore

A guildhest pops and tank just stops functioning because i hit an enemy they hadnt hit yet. There wasnt much conversation so i didnt screenshot. They just said they didnt know bards were tanks so i told them id report their lethargic play after.

But seriously, even in guildhest they need to be the main character? Cant roll my eyes hard enough

The Shirk Vigil (Hard)

So High-Level roulette throws me into Stone Vigil (Hard), with a new WHM, a BRD and a GNB. Tank runs and pulls the entire first trash group. Nice, I think to myself, we can go full sprint in here.

After the big turtle boss with the second large pull, I naturally run through til the end, but somewhere along the way the WHM gets hit by things and dies, followed shortly after by the GNB. No big deal, we just revive and I stand right in front of the mobs to wait. However, a bit too close and I get the mobs range aggro. The tank is right there too, and even starts attacking, but the aggro starts pingponging. I check out the tanks stance, lo and behold, it's turned off. My last "oh they might've accidentally hit stance off in the wipe" benefit of the doubt flies out of the window when I get hit by a shirk (they had some extra aggro from their AOE), die, followed by the tank stance being turned on again.

This conversation happens. The report naturally wrote itself.

It's not all Shivans... but it's always a Shivan. Also hilarious they then went and pulled the boss during cutscene. Not like I care that much, but to those people that's some kinda sacrilege I guess

I gotta say, your stories cheer me up

The only bad experience I ever had with a party was with a mentor that warned us not to mess up on a certain boss in the dungeon because he had no patience for said boss and messing up would result in a kick vote, but he was a donkey and the boss he was talking about was in a different dungeon. They were both ice themed so I guess that's where he went wrong. When I called him a donkey for it he didn't take it too well and threw a tantrum. I screenshotted, and he lost his mentor status before the next fortnight rolled around.

And that's it. But somehow you guys manage to find, consistently, the coolest temperature IQ players, and though you don't mean to, you're taking a bullet for the rest of us, and I just wanted to show a little appreciation, and despite having to deal with these people I hope sharing your stories gives you some relief from the experience of being grouped with players like this.

No Pants McGee

Queued up for levelling roulette as DPS and got a Sastasha (normal) in progress. Hmm, did they kick the missing DPS or did they leave for some reason, I wondered?

I take the shortcut to catch up, get to the small trash pull they’re in combat with, pop one AoE and suddenly have ALL THE AGGRO even though the tank has stance on and seems to be using AoE. And then I see why. Tank is a DRK wearing a low level caster robe, what looks like gathering gloves, and no pants. I think I know why the missing DPS left.

I mostly stayed because the dungeon was nearly over and I felt sorry for the poor sprout conjurer trying desperately to keep everyone alive.

Tell me a time you kicked someone for the smallest thing that was annoying... be honest... I'll start

So I did one asking when you've been kicked which went well so now one when you kicked someone

Wad running the first dungeon of Dawn fir glamour, was going as tank for the pieces I wanted. Get into dungeon and a dps pops up asking for gear for tank class to which I reply I'm after weapon and chest but everything else is OK.

He moans wo I state if you want the gear go as job but like I said I'm only after 2.

We get a cost somewhere containing the chest piece so like I started I need it.

Dps refuse to move forward saying he's not moving till I pass on item so he can get it. Healer pops up with just run and go again as tank other dps starts emoting in front of him.

About 20-30 seconds go like this so I pull the next pack and continue, healer pulls him close then goes tank use shirk that'll make him move.

He didn't he died then piped up saying he's not reviving gl with one dps...

Get to last boss and I'm fed up now and see that beautiful pop up

Vote kick select yes so fast.

Get another dps who helps us kill and I get the weapon I wanted too.

Needless to say. Was happy Aura fir tye rest of day

How does a tank get to Lv20+ content without a single Lv10+ piece of gear?

Just had a Halatali run.
Thankfully Halatali is still easy enough regardless but I fall into a party with a tank that almost dies during the first pull despite the healer doing their job.
I thought it was weird. The tank was extremely squishy and they had... barely 20 more HP than the party's BRD. And less HP than everyone else. Used examine on them... they were wearing Lv1 gear. Except for their weapon.

I asked directly "why are you wearing lv1 gear". They say they "forgot to buy new gear in town".

I didn't ask further or point out how that made absolutely no sense because one of the DPS was defending them already going "dw I forget to buy gear all the time" and I had a feeling it'd start a fight.

So tell me. How? HOW?!

The MSQ hands over gear pieces to you very often.
Since this is Halatali the tank had to go through the first three dungeons at least, and those ALWAYS DROP A GEAR PIECE FOR YOUR JOB IN YOUR INVENTORY. That's assuming he never got tank gear from the chests. Which is not impossible but still takes some real bad luck if we're talking 3 dungeons, assuming he only ran each once. To say nothing of the fact they'd need to be extreeeemely unlucky as to not drop Disciple of War gear in general since tanks could wear that too in the early levels.

I'm not gonna give them flack for not doing Hall of the Novice for the free Lv15 gear pieces, EVEN THOUGH THE GAME POINTS YOU TO IT TWICE DURING THE MSQ, but you need to put some serious effort to get to this point without at least some Lv1X gear.

This is but one of the many ridiculous DF moments I've been experiencing on Dynamis by the way. I get it, Dynamis is where most sprouts start, but I've been playing since Heavensward launched and I have never encountered characters like these until I started queueing there.

I can't wait for the Aether players to start queueing with Dynamis when the region-wide DF and PF get implemented. You're in for a rude awakening.

Tank "deciding" if he wants to wait for first-timers to watch CS

Resubmission because I forgot to bleep out names. My bad. Waiting is polite, let new players view mechanics and enjoy the story.

Tell me a time where you got kicked from a dungeon.... I'll start

Years ago during one of the really early dungeons was either stone vigil or brayflox, I was levelling and had a glamour on which was the emperors new top, gloves annd hat ( the one that makes gear invisible) with some shorts and some trainer things.

Say hi as normal to receive back hi, do you have something equipped as looks like I'm completely naked. So I explained that it was a glamour.

They replied stating that they didn't appreciate seeing a top less male and how there girlfriend felt violated...

Before I had a chance to say anything was booted...

Couple of minutes go pass waiting for new roulette pop. Had a message from the 3rd person saying something along the lines of they had new person join asked what happened so they explained for the new person to instantly dip out saying the kick was immature.

So the dungeon pretty much failed before first pull ....

Was magical

WHM goes gathering in Dzemael Darkhold

I queue up for leveling roulette at 1 am. In retrospect this was my first mistake.

Tank pulls big and once they park they fall over in 10 seconds so I smack arms length and start kiting. We manage to zombie through the first few pulls and the first boss like this but it isn't pretty. We wipe again on the pull after the first boss and this is when my deep fried sleep deprived brain realizes something is wrong here.

Tank's gear seems fine and their mits aren't perfect but they're good enough so I look at the healer. They have the lv25 goatskin accessories on that give +GP. The next pull I watched to see wtf they were doing and they were so undergeared that mashing cure 2 with presence of mind wasn't enough to keep the tank from dying.

I call them out (see screenshots). We wipe two more times and they get kicked. New healer shows up and we finish with no more issues. On one hand I can kinda empathize with them because once they realized they were the problem they apologized and asked to be kicked (didn't leave themselves though...) but on the other hand I don't empathize with them at all because why the fuck would anyone do this. Also note they had several jobs at 100 and were rocking the Overemployed title from maxing out phantom jobs in occult crescent so I don't buy the too poor excuse for a second. This game shovels gil into your pockets for doing basically anything but especially for doing OC.

e-couple refuse to swap dance partner in M3S

For context on bf/gf their search info was matching with eachothers names and hearts next to them, they were both french and apparently barely spoke english

was in a kill group/kff group for M11S with an e-couple reaper and dancer. Once we loaded in the dancer instantly dance partnered the reaper instead of our bis black mage or me the samurai. One comment was said to just swap dance partner but we quickly pulled.
After wiping to stampede the screenshots ensued

normally i wouldnt care but with the M11S dps check still being tight and everyone potting theres no reason to not put dance partner on the proper person.

The sprouts are alright

NIN and Bard sprouts didn't even skip a beat, just took over the job of the tank immediately when he turned his stance off mid-pull (the middle of the second pull) and sheathed his weapon.

Something funny happened today, so I thought I'd share.

The Stone Vigil, level 41 dungeon.

  1. A Dark Knight, a Sage, a Black Mage and a Dragoon go into the aforementioned dungeon.
  2. Dark Knight pulls 3 packs, uses Rampart, Shadow Wall, Reprisal, Arm's Length and a healing potion.
  3. Sage stands still and types in all caps instead of using sprint to keep up and heal, which leads to the Dark Knight dying eventually. Half the mobs still alive.
  4. Dragoon tanks the remaining mobs and the group kills the pack.

Sage saw the triple pull and just gave up? Apparently only White Mages can handle the initial triple pull in The Stone Vigil and Sages just cannot do that due to class balance.

Let's check something real quick, shall we?

This is level 41 Scion Conjurer. Can he help me through the exact same pull?

We did it! Good job Scion Conjurer! Your skill at healing arts rivals and even surpasses some of the player adventurers!

Oh cool, it's one of those self-cleaning trash tanks! (Clyteum YPYT)

Figure y'all might enjoy this. Clyteum; YPYT - Guy decides on first boss to turn off tank stance and just have me tank the whole time.

Thankfully, it's one of those new-age self-cleaning trashcans that you hear about, so he took himself out after the Vote Dismiss failed.

I am sorry what??

I was playing some low level dungeon (stone vigil) and we talked about the dawntrail relics and I said I liked the whm one (I was also playing whm) and then one of our dps, who also died constantly somehow and not rezzing half the time said this to me.
what a weird person.
