Self-custody is great for saving but what about spending?

Tangem makes it easy to hold your own crypto but when you actually want to spend it, you usually have to move funds somewhere else first.

Is spending directly from self-custody something you’d actually use?

there are hidden fees when swapping or tranfering coins why does nobody tlak about this?

when swapping coins on tengam it shows the fee under

as you can see in the screenshot the toal goes from 599 to 590 usd when the fee is only 0,1 cent

and i had this happen all the time it was like lets say 100$ worth of btc to usdt and i tried many coins it would say 50 cent fee but the outcome would be 6 dollars less then the amount i was swapping

so there was no mention of the 6$ fee anywhere

but for my case i was swapping 3K and it took off 70$ without noteing anywhere that it was part of ANY fee

at 3:42 of this video made by a youtuber who reviews tangem and cold wallets in genral https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L1dDZRMQD54 you can see the same thing happen theres a tiny fee displayed on the bottom like noramal

but the total amount is decresed by way more then cents for his case it was like 18 dollars just gone in that swap he made

tangem blames the fees on the blockchain then how is it that the exsact swap cost far less in fees on binace ?

if u swap the same amount on an exschange the fees are tiny and there is no costly and hidden blockchain fee

nobody wants to admit that tangem and prob other cold wallet companys make thair moeny from these hidden so called blockchain fees

the youtuber i have linked always advises that you should use exschanges for swapping buying and selling and cold wallets for storage

but since he is sponsred by tangem he is unwhilling to tell you why the cold wallet should be avoided for swapping and selling

Question about Tangem Pay ACH transfers

I'm fairly confused where to find the ACH details. There are a couple of blog posts that talk about it. I signed up for Tangem Pay last week, verified via KYC steps, have to digital Tangem card in Apple Pay, but now I'm just trying to figure out how I can fund it via ACH.

I'd like to set up a regular deposit through my employer, and the one thing I can't figure out is where to find the ACH info. Tangem states:

"Tangem Pay now gives every verified user their own US bank details. A real routing number, a real account number. Share your account details with a payer, such as your employer, to receive regular payments directly into your Tangem Pay account."

Yet, I'm finding people saying it's only available in some regions. For the record, I'm in North Carolina. Is there somewhere that I overlooked that has a list of this information, where it is or is not available? Even a step-by-step how to do it. It's why I signed up for Tangem Pay because I thought it would immediately be available to me. Otherwise, Tangem Pay is just sitting unless I manually deposit money (not interested). I haven't come across any official instructions demonstrating how to do this.

Maybe...maybe not, but it kind of feels misleading to say "...gives every verified user their own US bank details" because I'm verified, but even then I may still not have access.

Just feels pretty foggy, and so I'm looking for much clearer information. Appreciate any help!

Does Tangem have plans to release metal cards and rings?

If a full titanium card and titanium ring are released, I think the Tangem will really become my favorite cold wallet XD

Hardware Wallet Security: What Are We Going to Experience Next?

OneKey has been hacked many times, Trezor has had two data leaks, and Ledger has had multiple leaks of user data, with seed-related information being handled through third parties. Honestly, what are we going to experience next? To be honest, I don’t really like any of these wallets. Tangem is the only one where we haven’t experienced something like this yet, and I hope it stays that way.

What I would really like to see is Tangem introducing a seedless + passphrase option. That would be amazing. We wouldn’t have to remember a seed phrase, but we would still have an additional layer of protection against hackers, especially after everything we’ve experienced so far.

New cards. No seals?

Just received my first set of Tangem cards. I took the box out of the post packing and the box has no seals. Just took the lid off and pick up the cards.

Doesn’t seem normal or is it and the cards are safe?

Tangem! It would be great if you could eventually add the option to add a passphrase within the app so we can manage the standard wallet and passphrase wallet at the same time (: hopefully this is something you can put in the pipe line ASAP 🙂

Solana balance not updating after staking

I tried to stake Solana today and noticed that after doing that, the Solana icon started flashing constantly and the correct balance isn't updating. I'm guessing this would stop after the end of this epoch or after the 2-3 warm up period. But this is the first time it's happened and I have the latest version of the app. Anyone else experience the same issue?

Question about backup cards when using a seed phrase

I’m trying to understand how the backup card setup works with Tangem.

The Tangem kits come with 2 or 3 cards, which makes perfect sense for a seedless wallet. Since access to the wallet is tied exclusively to the Tangem cards, having additional cards as backups is obviously important.

However, Tangem also supports wallets created with a seed phrase. From what I understand, even when using a seed phrase, you still have to set up additional backup cards during the initial setup.

Is that correct, or am I misunderstanding something?

My confusion is that, with a seed phrase wallet, the seed phrase itself is the backup of the wallet. If I have the seed phrase securely stored, I should theoretically be able to recover the wallet without needing another Tangem card.

So in that case, what is the purpose of having 2 or 3 Tangem cards? Is there an additional security or recovery benefit that I'm missing?

I'm genuinely trying to understand the logic here, especially the difference between the backup model for seedless wallets and seed phrase wallets. If someone from Tangem or an experienced user could clarify, I'd appreciate it.

I finally tried HD addresses in Tangem!

Just an appreciation post, ‘cause I tried the new HD addresses after Tangem added UTXO management. I'm the biggest fan now, this was literally the one thing I wanted them to add :D

I liked the wallet before because it was so easy to use, but having to reuse the same BTC address always bugged me. Now it generates a fresh address every time, tried it a few times this week and it works exactly like it should 🙏

Such a big update, it genuinely fixed my biggest issue. Now Tangem is officially the best cold wallet!
