TCS Joining update 2026

I was originally scheduled to join on June 4th; however, my start date was delayed because a document was pending on the NextStep portal. I have now submitted the required document and was informed that I would receive a revised joining letter. Has anyone else received a joining date in July for a Digital role in the Kolkata location?

Can i change present address in BGV form

I received my offer letter and it had my present address (which was my pg address) , now i was wondering can i change my present address before submitting BGV form & documents.

The only doubt in my mind is that my application form and offer letter had my previous present address so will it cause any mismatch or mistake during verification and all.

Please help.

TCS NextStep Form 9 showing duplicate previous employer with same PF number – Is this a portal bug?

Hi everyone,

I'm currently completing my TCS NextStep onboarding and I'm facing an issue with Form 9 (EPF Declaration).

I have worked for only one company before TCS.

My details are:

  • Previous company DOJ: 10/10/2024
  • Date of Leaving: 15/05/2026
  • Active UAN
  • Same PF Account Number throughout
  • I have not withdrawn my PF.

However, in the Form 9 declaration, TCS is showing two employer entries:

  • Both entries have the same company name.
  • Both have the same PF Account Number.
  • Both have the same joining and leaving dates.
  • The only difference is the address:
    • One entry shows my company's office address.
    • The other shows the EPFO establishment address.

I never added a second employer. Even if I leave the Employer No. 2 section blank or try to edit it, the portal still generates two entries for the same employer.

I've also attached a screenshot (personal details hidden).

Has anyone else faced this issue during TCS onboarding?

  • Is this a known NextStep portal bug?
  • Should I leave it as it is, or do I need to contact TCS onboarding?
  • Will this create any issue during Background Verification or PF transfer?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Got mapped to LSHCERU (Workday HCM) at TCS. What is the actual work like and can I switch?

Hey everyone,

I recently joined TCS as a digital cadre (2026 passout) and just found out my final allocation mapping is to the LSHCERU cluster. My assigned module is Workday and the sub-specialization is HCM (Human Capital Management).

I have a few quick questions for anyone who has worked in this unit or on this tech stack:

What exactly does the day-to-day work look like for a fresh deployment in Workday HCM? Is it mostly functional configuration, or is there a solid technical/coding track?

If I want to move out of this track later on, how difficult is it to get a release from an ESU project once you are allocated?

Does TCS allow you to switch technologies easily via internal portals (like IJP) after the initial lock-in period?

Any insights from seniors who know about this unit would be really helpful. Thanks!

Fresher at TCS (7 LPA) in Data Engineering – Planning to Switch After 1 Year. Need Roadmap & Career Advice

Hi everyone,

I joined TCS about 2 months ago as a fresher with a CTC of 7 LPA. I was assigned to the Data Engineering domain, and the current learning path includes:

  • Data Warehouse
  • PySpark
  • Apache Kafka
  • Apache Airflow
  • Power BI
  • Databricks

My goal is to switch to a better company after around 1 year (or as early as I'm reasonably ready). I want to use this one year effectively and become really strong in Data Engineering.

I have a few questions for experienced data engineers and people who have made similar switches:

  1. Is this tech stack enough to land a good Data Engineer role if I master it?
  2. What other technologies or concepts should I learn alongside these? (SQL, Python, Cloud, Spark internals, Data Modeling, etc.)
  3. What kind of projects should I build to make my resume stand out?
  4. Is one year of experience generally enough to switch, assuming I have solid skills?
  5. What salary range is realistic after switching from 7 LPA if I become proficient in this domain?

I'm willing to put in consistent effort over the next year, so I'd really appreciate a roadmap or any advice on what to prioritize and what to avoid.

Thanks in advance!

TCS Onboarding - Offer Letter & Joining Letter Received, But BGC Documents Still Pending Approval

Hi everyone,

I have received my TCS offer letter and my joining date is 16th July. I uploaded all my required BGC/onboarding documents before the 3rd July deadline, but all my documents are still showing "Approval Pending."

I'm a bit worried because my joining date is getting close. Has anyone else faced the same situation? Did your documents get approved later, or did TCS ask you to re-upload any documents?

If anyone has gone through this process or has any idea about what usually happens, please let me know. Your experience or suggestions would be really helpful.

Thank you!

TCS Adibatla, Need PG & Gym Recommendations

Hey guys,

I'll be joining TCS this month, and my ILP is at the Adibatla campus. Since I don't know much about the area, I need some suggestions.

Looking for a good 2-sharing PG near the campus. Budget is around ₹8k–10k. just a clean place with decent food, Wi-Fi, and good management.

I also hit the gym regularly, so if there's a good gym within walking distance, please let me know.

If you've stayed near Adibatla:

  • Which PG were you in?
  • Would you recommend it or should I avoid it?
  • How was the food and overall experience?
  • Anything you wish you'd known before choosing a PG?

Would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks!
