Mumbai University or Thakur University Degree

So many students were confused whether this year if they admit themselves in TCET, will they be getting the degree from UoM or Thakur. So I just wanted to clear the doubt, yes you all will get degree from UoM this year as well. So stop worrying about it already and focus on much more important stuff.

Btw sources are Faculties of TCET and Admission Cell.

I will be getting degree from thakur university ?

I joined Thakur College last year, now I am in the 2nd sem of my btech course. I have given an admission form of Mumbai University, which the college asked for to submit to all the first-year students, but now as we know that Thakur College is now a deemed university, will I be getting a Mumbai University degree or a Thakur University degree?

Need to know which degree will I get

So I will be admitting myself in TCET as a Direct Second Year Engineering student this year. I was wondering whether I will get the mumbai university degree or Thakur university degree as TCET is now officially a university.

TCET students know exactly what I’m talking about

Our college’s management seriously needs improvement in some areas.

One of the most annoying things is the lab shifting. Sometimes we get allotted a lab a week before, and on the actual lecture day we suddenly get told to shift because of exams or something else. Maybe students from other departments won’t relate much, but as a BVoc student, this becomes a huge headache.

We install a lot of software, do configurations, keep project files on the same PCs, and the moment things finally become stable, boom.. lab changed again.

Installing stuff is already painful because of the internet speed on the 6th and 7th floors barely touching 500 kbps sometimes. Downloading something heavy like Android Studio and its internal files can easily take an hour or more. And no, I’m not exaggerating. Meanwhile on the 3rd floor I’ve literally seen speeds above 100 Mbps. So the issue clearly isn’t “college internet” in general.

Now imagine reinstalling everything again and again because management suddenly decides to shift labs after one week of stability. Then comes transferring files through pendrives/zips, fixing path mismatches, missing dependencies, wasted lecture time, rushed practicals, incomplete syllabus, everything.

And after all this, we still don’t get QBs. I understand colleges don’t want students becoming fully dependent on them, fair enough. But at least give something when half the lectures go into managing these unnecessary shifts.

Now apart from this, TCET honestly isn’t bad at all.

Infrastructure is top notch, facilities are good, and most faculty members are actually supportive if you behave properly with them. Teaching staff is honestly one of the better parts of the college. Even the canteen food is genuinely good, just overcrowded between 12:30 PM to 2 PM, which is expected anyway.

Overall, I like TCET. I don’t even mind the random last-minute exam schedules anymore. But those lab shifts genuinely ruin the experience sometimes. If management handled things better in certain areas, TCET would actually be a really great place for students.

Just adding some photos to prove authenticity.
