If unblocked attacks did double damage to your block Meter before hitting your health, this game would be a lot more chill.

Not necessarily easier either, as you'd be at constant risk of being block broken and combo'd by big attacks, BUT you could ignore that 1 little shitter sneaking up behind you to ruin your combo while you whomp a staggered boss, or you could safely wade into battle and not be scared of being attritioned by tiny hits from little shitters, giving you more room to be stylish.

Thoughts?

I enjoyed this game but quickly got bored.

This game was exceptional at first. Felt really fun and unique but that quickly faded after a few hours of play time. It just feels kinda empty. Doesn’t take very long to unlock everything and the runs are too repetitive even for a rogue like. Also the runs feel too short like I never get to fully utilize the items or skills I obtain while playing through. Even when half the items I get are duds it feels almost too easy. I just hope more is to come because it has good bones but I really has almost no replay ability once you beat the final boss even a hand full of times. Also multiplayer feels awful for anyone not playing the chick. Ever game feels like a rush to go get all the loot before the objectives to even just playing the hammer dude you miss out on most the stuff because it’s all grabbed up almost instantly.

Deleting Harold

First time I've had a 'god run.' I'd recommend Gambler X Lightweaver if you want to clap Harold disrespectfully.

Fire shield thingy on some act 3 captains totally wipes commanders

Have had this happen twice so far..there's some fire shield on certain act 3 captains that wipes out the majority of my commanders in 5 seconds (the commanders get close or hit the captain then basically drop dead). We're talking ~8 out of 12 mostly infantry commanders (lvl 5+) gone in a few seconds. Nothing else in the game does this, certainly not Harold..sooo I am assuming it will get patched at some point, but until then, any way around it?

Fist ball cheese

probably should be fixed yeah? spam block+heavy with the The Judge weapon. works pretty good with orbs, link, and chain since they proc on the first heavy hit. You can still get one shot by a couple captains so it's not completely infallible but if youre careful you can just spam it from range and get your special back. helps having direct heavy damage increases.

Mostly i just find it kind of funny, it is obviously a bug imo.

I've put in 25 hours and I think my interest just plummeted to 0

There's a lot that this game needs to work on, Its early access so its to be expected, but a few of them are driving me not to want to play right now and my biggest issue is probably one that wont change at all just based on the nature of the game.

A handful of things irk me like constantly having to back track to kill towers that are buffing the enemies instead of them being placed ahead, lack of visual clarity when there are a bunch of enemies around and I cant see what the captains are doing, and a bunch of little things like that but that's whatever.

The biggest thing for me is that unlike what a rouge like is supposed to do, every single run feels the same. I am always parrying the same attacks, doing the same combos, killing the same captains in the same way, its just the buffs I pick change what color the damage is when it comes out. This is the same issue I have with risk of rain 2, no matter what you are going to play the same way every time.

I also feel like the game doesn't even give you time to attempt to get strong in the fun ways. I can get the same clan boons a few times and I start leaning into the damage type and I would like to upgrade my boons so I can start seeing the cool big attacks, but then not get offered the clan emblem or if I do get it I don't get any of the upgrades or synergistic boons and that will continue for a whole act and I just feel lame and boring.

So for now I think I have to call it quits on the game. I'm sure I'll come back at some point after some big updates but I cant imagine staying long :(

Advice on Ruadh?

I just finished up trial 10 on Wallace. I’ve now beat it on both Brienne and Wallace.

My experience on Ruadh is very limited and I don’t really gel with the characters playstyle. I want to learn him though.

At a glance he seems to be more about positioning than the other heroes and saving his ult for the right time. But where I’m struggling to figure him out is bosses. What’s the strategy to take these bosses down solo? I feel like killing elites is genuinely easy mode because of his aoe.

I was thinking maybe a frenzy build with the omen clan and the green burning clan for resilient? He’s just soooo slow. With no dodge cd and basically no block stamina. Any advice on gear, weapons, clans, items, etc is appreciated. I know people say he’s the strongest character, but I’m struggling more on him than the others.

Help with playing Brienne?

Hi there! I've recently picked up the game and unlocked Brienne. I really want to like her, but I'm having some issues learning to play her.

Aiming at enemies feels really awkward to do, because it feels like she's always moving further than I'd like. Locking onto targets feels like it only helps so much when her attacks are always making her walk forwards. It feels like I've got to keep swinging my camera around to adjust for keeping aim on a target

And then her special is something I'm just really confused about. I know her damage relies on scaling with direct hits, so I should get some hits in before I use the special. But when when I do, it feels like half of it just whiffs? I've tried moving her during the animation to keep up with the target, but even on my best attempts, I'm still not reaching 100% uptime on hits. The i-frames is nice, but I guess Wallace's barrage got me used to something more easily impactful

I'm pretty sure that all of these issues are just a skill issue though. So, any tips? Thanks!

Backwards Dodge

I want to be able to dodge backwards while being locked on. If I hold back on the Left Stick and Dodge I just go to the side. I want to like back step and then go back to keep attacking. This is actually so annoying.

Brienne 4th weapon

I just killed Harold with 3 difficulty mark (with Wallace)
But it didn’t unlocked the brienne weapon

I think it is because you have to do it with brienne but I want to be sure before investing time with it
I don’t really like the first and third weapon and I heard the 4th was the best

Question about officer attacks

Are these just useless in multiplayer? It really feels like an oversight. I only get like 2-3 captains... So the effects just do ... Nothing. I kinda feel like it just deleted a whole mechanic that is enjoyable in single player.

Anyway i could get the game to run better with these specs? Everything is fine untill Act 2.

AMD Ryzen 5 3500 6-Core Processor (3.59 GHz)

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 SUPER (4 GB)

Everything runs fine untill Act 2, i start dropping below 30 frames and it makes me die. Sucks because i really enjoy the game and i thought i could run this one. Act 1 is fine, 50-60 frames is enough for me but why does it only start at act 2?

Struggling To Beat Harold

I've only recently been able to consistently make it through to Harold every run after about 60 hours of playing, and It's just been really tough to play through the same campaign all the way through just for the CHANCE at beating Harold. It takes like an hour to get to him, and then I lose anyway. It's just a lot.

I've played a lot of difficult games, but nothing quite like this. Ultimately this feels harder than it was to beat Sekiro and other souls games, since with those I could at least rush back to the boss. With this, there's really no rushing back to Harold, you just gotta do the entire run over - randomness, jank and all.

This honestly harkens back to quarter eater arcade games from the 80s and 90s. No game today should really be striving to be like a fucking quarter eater. Like, I already gave you my money, and I understand and am decently competent at the game. WTF are we doing at this point.

At this point, I'm kinda just over the whole game, which is sad, cause the game's fucking sick, and there's a lot more to do, but I can't keep doing the same thing and getting the same results. It just takes way too much time. There's VERY little progression here. This is very unlike Warriors games
