I was just searching up some things and then I searched the bear on accident it was on autocorrect so then teddy bears came out until I saw a bear that looks so familiar but it was wearing a shirt I clicked on it and it was an Ikea there but then I realized it was a wavy dev plush bear 💔😭 and it's a Ikea I've never seen to a Ikea in my life ✌️ but did not know that it was form a Ikea.

So I ran into this reddit and decided to research my bear.

He was bought in 1964 (I was four) at a Coventry VT church sale.

His eyes were missing, had only one ear and felt pads on his feet and hands was worn through, but no stuffing was missing because he was filled with wood shavings.

I had to save him.

My mom made two ears out of the one, gave him button eyes and patched his hands and feet.

Bear was old when I got him and is older now.

Bear looks to be a 24" bear built by Reliable Toy Company in Canada from 1920-1930.

The pattern is an original 1920s American Ideal blueprint, brought to Toronto by Aaron Cone of Ideal Toy Company, and built by the Ideal/Dominion/Reliable workers.

I wanted to share a little story about my teddy bear family.
From left to right, their names are Judith, Marcus, Dirk, and Theo.
Dirk, the shaggy, dark, well-loved teddy bear, has a very special place in my heart. I received him in 2023 on the day of my driving test. Someone had placed him in a little basket outside my driving school, and I decided to take him with me.
From that day until June 2026, Dirk came with me on almost every car ride. For a long time, it was just the two of us.
At the beginning of June, I accidentally lost him. I was absolutely heartbroken and cried a lot. My family saw how much he meant to me, so each of them gifted me another teddy bear to help cheer me up. That’s how Judith, Marcus, and Theo joined the family.
Then yesterday, something incredible happened. A kind woman who had found Dirk while out on a walk contacted me, and I finally got him back.
Now our teddy bear family is complete, and I couldn’t be happier. ❤️🧸

bought in asda late 2000s, had both his eyes ripped out by our dog years ago, recently had to patch him up and restuff him cause he was getting worse for wear!

I won him at a themed park a couple years ago

Found her a goodwill cleaned her up just in case! (She’s got a zipper in the back, used that to remove the stuffing) Calling her Honey Pot cause of the yellow accents!

The Omaha Zoo offers overnight excursions, and we stayed in the Gorilla Enclosure, which means we were able to engage with the gorillas on a whole different level. The gorilla seems to like my bear
