📞 Telly Phone Is Here and It's a Big Deal

The big one has arrived. Telly Phone lets you call friends and family on the biggest screen in the house, right from your couch.

If they have a Telly too, you can send an invite, add them to your contact list, see who's online, start a video call in seconds, or leave a video message after the beep if you missed them. Grandma checking in? Friends joining movie night? A surprise hello from across the country? Now the people who matter most can show up life-size, right in your living room.

No subscriptions. No new devices. No huddling around teeny-tiny phone screens ever again. Just simple, built-in video calling on the Telly you already love.

Telly has always been the best way to watch live sports. Now your Smart Screen is stepping up to the plate.

With the new Live Sports Widget, starting with baseball, Telly brings live stats and game details to the Smart Screen while the game plays on the Theater Screen. So you can keep your eyes on the action and still get all the 'moneyball' details your heart desires. It's a home run. Sorry for that. We couldn't help but write that pun. But…it's lazy and we'll try harder. This is a great feature and you should try it at home base. You can't stop us, we love a pun! Now back to the game.

Scores. Stats. Game details. All without covering up the game only on Telly.

📱 The Telly Mobile App Got More You

The Telly mobile app now makes it easier to make Telly feel like yours. Your weather, teams, news, photos, finance and way more.

When you open the app, you'll see a simple setup checklist that helps you personalize Telly to your home. Add your local weather. Follow your favorite teams. Choose the news sources you trust. Track the finance info that matters to you. Put your own photos on screen. Set your location and preferences once, then let Telly get smarter from there.

We recently added Telly Match to Game Room, and yes, it is exactly the kind of "just one more round" situation your evening did not ask for but absolutely deserves.

Match the jewels, chase your high score, and see how long it takes before someone in the house says, "you cheated!" Or was that just our house growing up…anyone?!

🛠️ You Reported Them. We Fixed Them.

Advanced Sound settings: Some bass and treble adjustments were not sticking the way they should. Rude. We fixed it, so your sound settings should stay where you put them. Crank responsibly. Or irresponsibly. We are not your neighbors.

Widgets disappearing: If widgets went missing from your Smart Screen even though you set them up in the Telly mobile app, good news. We found the gremlin. No more widgets in 'ghost' mode.

Timers: Some timers were refusing to accept new requests. We had a serious talk with the timer. It has reflected on its behavior and will be doing better going forward. Now…apologize to Mrs. Telly Viewer, Timmy.

Remote battery drain: Some remotes were burning through batteries way too fast. That's fixed, so your batteries can go back to living a normal, peaceful battery life.

Add your Telly friends. Have friends or family with a Telly? Invite them to your Telly Phone contact list, then give them a call or send a video message. Life-size couch-to-couch connection. Very cozy. Very future.

Refer a friend. Telly app → Refer a Friend → Share your code. Bring friends and family into the Telly family. Jumping on the couch and shouting "you get a Telly" is optional, but emotionally encouraged.

Use the Android TV 4K HDMI stick for a better app experience. The Android TV 4K HDMI stick that came with your Telly has a special integration with the Telly experience. Use it to launch your favorite streaming apps right from the Telly 'Watch' or 'Music' menu without all the HDMI switching gymnastics. Your thumb has done enough.

Something acting up? Reboot first. Settings → Help & Support → Reboot TV. It fixes most things in under a minute. Not everything in life has a magic button, but this one comes pretty close.

Telly AI. This is a biggy. "Hey Telly" is about to evolve into Telly AI. This isn't a feature. It's a complete reset in what TV can do. And it's coming exclusively to Telly for free. Imagine asking your Telly a question and getting a real answer. Commands become conversations. Conversations become actions that make life a little bit easier and a lot more entertaining.

Find My Remote. Lost your remote between the couch cushions? Left it next to the fridge for reasons no one can fully explain? Soon, Telly will help you find your remote when it goes missing. The couch cushions have been getting away with this for too long.

Silent Updates. We know the feeling. You turn on Telly ready to watch something, and suddenly your TV wants to update. Great timing, little buddy. Soon, Telly will update quietly in the background when you are not using it, so it is fresh, ready, and loaded with the latest features whenever you're ready to watch.

Could someone at Telly suggest an update that warns the user of an incoming update or allow the user to select whether or not I want to update upon powering on the tv? My tv is connected to a metered hotspot and the ads alone kill my data usage the day it resets every month so I’ve run into this situation at least three times in the last 2 months where I’ll say come home from work and my tv will be updating for HOURS (thankfully a recent update lets me stop it and try later and when that happens I swap to my larger hotspot that is also metered but has more data) and it’s essentially useless for a day. If I at least had the option to know an update was imminent and could swap to my better connection I’d be immensely grateful

Is there no option to have all of these updates happen when the tv is not actively in use?

It’s literally had the past 12 hours to update but now when I want to use it is automatically updating.

I know it’s free but I swear there are updates once a week and it’s always right when I’m wanting to watch or play something

I lost my Telly remote and now my TV is basically trapped on Telly Today mode. The buttons on the TV only control power and volume, so I can’t switch inputs or properly navigate anything.

The voice command gets me TO the input screen… but apparently not THROUGH the input screen.

I tried the app and don’t see actual remote controls in there either.

Quick update — thanks to everyone for the advice and suggestions. I hit up Telly customer service and they’re sending me a replacement remote. Supposedly it’ll be here Friday via FedEx. Appreciate all the help!

Watching TV this morning, and all of a sudden the sound went dead. Rebooted and everything seems normal. Anyone else having problems with this, and is it worth sending a bug report?

Just received the update. Any release notes?

Anyway to reset this thing? It’s stuck in a boot loop. I’ve unplugged it overnight and it’s still stuck.

I was watching a show when the Telly soundboard started all round noise similar to the Emergency broadcast warning. No show, just both screens black and the loud eeeeeee!

Remote would not let me turn off the TV or mute the volume. I had to manually turn off the TV. Upon starting, it started an update. Has anyone had this happen to them lately?
