Wanting to take my boys to their first game at the new stadium. Where are the best budgety seats?

We want to go Friday night. Don't have a ton to spend and will have to pay parking and food I'm sure. But my boys are really into baseball and want to be able to see the game. What are the best suggestions between 25-35 dollars a ticket? I need 3 total.

Also what is the best way to buy them? Through the rangers website or like seatgeek or something else?

Enough is Enough.

I am so sick of this team and this organization. The ballpark, the players, the fans, the jerseys, the logo, the acquisitions, the product on the field—it’s all lifeless.

For the past three years, there hasn’t been a more mediocre team than the Rangers. Yet somehow, CY refuses to make any team-altering moves, while Ray Davis is unwilling to spend money to build a contender. There is absolutely ZERO reason a Dallas-Fort Worth baseball team shouldn’t have, at minimum, a top-10 payroll every single season. There is also absolutely ZERO reason this market shouldn’t consistently rank in the top 10 in attendance. And there is absolutely ZERO reason CY didn’t make any moves at the deadline—whether that meant buying or selling. You can’t stand pat in that situation. It’s an extremely terrible look when you just got swept by the Astros, they went out and made moves to improve their team, and the Rangers responded by doing absolutely nothing.

What makes all of this even more frustrating is that I live in San Diego. Watching the Padres only makes the Rangers look worse. The Padres sell out games, hit walk-offs and grand slams, make comebacks, have players like Machado, Merrill, Miller, and Tatis, make fun transactions, and actually feel like an entertaining baseball team. They have cool jerseys, a great ballpark, passionate fans, fun announcers, and an overall energy that makes you want to watch.

The Rangers have none of that. When was the last time this team won six games in a row? When was the last time they hit a grand slam or had a walk-off that actually felt memorable? When was the last time the Rangers made a legit comeback? Who are the Rangers truly electric, must-watch players? The answer is nobody. Everything about this organization is boring and lifeless—from the announcers and the atmosphere at the ballpark to the uniforms and the product on the field. There is not a more boring team in baseball right now.

I’m sick of watching the same thing over and over again. Enough is enough. CY needs to be fired, and there needs to be serious accountability throughout the organization, including major changes to the roster. Something has to change next season, because if it doesn’t, we’re just heading toward another mediocre 81–81 season.

For a team in a market this big, with this much potential, this is unacceptable and a complete joke.

Parking Lot closure questions for games.

Hey guys needing some info I can’t pinpoint. We have season tickets as well as parking passes. Saturday we planned on going to game but got some free Zach Bryan tickets. Does anyone have an idea what time the lots generally close after a game? I have Lot A parking but can’t find any info anywhere. We’re thinking of going to the game for awhile then walking across to Zach Bryan at AT&T

Rangers lineup for August 16 vs The A’s

Time to get that Wynn and take the series

"They've been playing well. They've been playing well for a while now."

THIS the hype video? "They've been playing hard."

What a sad state of affairs that's the best thing they can pull from the broadcast. Not even a Nadal walk-off call.

This is the Rangers equivalent of Jill Biden post-debate, "And Joe, you answered ALL of the questions."

At least they got us to football season.

Help me pick a secondary team for October

Folks, now that it's crystal clear our team is not going to compete in the post-season, help me pick a secondary team to start following so that I may root for them through the post-season.

(Before the flamage starts of course I will always have the Rangers as my primary team, I've been a fan since the 70s and have endured worse teams. I just want someone to pull for come October.)

I'm leaning towards:

Milwaukee - team with some history, small market, traditional underdogs

Tampa Bay - love their scrappiness and their traditional and small-ball approach

Any others? Make your case!

Question about the Rally Sombrero thing...

So y'all have that awesome nacho sombrero thing and I'm coming to a game on the 22nd, and really wanna eat that. It's just I'm allergic to Avocado....like dangerously!

I'm wondering if I can ask for no avocado at time of purchase or if it comes as is and can't be customized? Sorry if this isn't the place to ask!

Tomorrow’s game

I was planning on bringing my wife and our 3 and 1 year old to the game in Sacramento tomorrow, but I ended up selling the tickets.

Being bad is one thing. I can deal with a bad team. What I’m having a harder time with is just how boring this team is to watch. It feels like they have no identity and, honestly, not much passion or energy.

I don’t want to lump everyone into that because guys like Zeke and Osuna bring some energy and are fun to watch. But overall, I just couldn’t justify getting the whole family out to the game to watch this product.

It’s a lot of effort with two little kids, and at this point I’d rather just stay home. I hate saying that because I love going to Rangers games, but this team has gotten to the point where I don’t really feel like I’m missing much by not watching.

How do I watch games as an out of market fan?

I recently moved out of market (to a different part of the country) but still want to enjoy Ranger games. Is there a way to watch games that are only broadcast on RSN/BZZR?

Revisiting the Jonah Heim plate blocking Call

The broadcast just brought up the Heim call again so I dug it up and tried to understand it. There's a good video and rules analysis given here. To take something that's overly complicated though, and reduce it to simple ideas, I would frame it like this:

The rules are worded in a way to favor the runner, such that they can run full speed all the way to the plate. The only thing you're allowed to do to impede the runner requires you to be in possession of the baseball (or be in the act of fielding the ball). Once you have the ball you can freely slow down the runner pretty much however you want.

In the play in question, the runner was forced to veer off their full-speed path, to dodge Heim who was crossing over the base-path to field the ball. Since Heim was deemed to not be in possession of the ball (or needing to be where he was to field the ball), he was in violation.

I think it's a little unforgiving but I want to live in a world where baserunners get to run fast and the rules make injuries less likely. I'm not sure if the Heim situation was a proper application of the rules or not, and I kind of hate that there is a very gray area surrounding the act of fielding the ball where you can also block the plate even if you don't have the ball yet. It feels defense favored and creates more injuries than needed.
