Don Johnson’s "Heartbeat" (1986). But it's a wild 80s bootleg edition!

The Album:
Released in 1986, Heartbeat was the hit debut album by Miami Vice star Don Johnson. The title track went straight to #5 on the Billboard charts.

The Backstory:
I believe my aunt (women still love that guy, and probably men too =) ) picked up this cassette at a local market during a trip to Europe in the late 80s.

It is actually a rare Polish bootleg by a label called "T.J. Mix". Back then, Western originals were impossible to find behind the Iron Curtain, so local bootleggers made these to satisfy the massive demand for Western pop music.

What’s an ’80s movie you didn’t like when you first saw it, but later fell in love with?

Maybe you didn’t get it the first time, or it just wasn’t your thing. But years later, something clicked and now you love it.

Myth: History in the Making [1989] The Retro Odyssey!

Each level is centred on a certain location, such as in Hades, an Egyptian pyramid and ancient Greece, where the player must collect a magic orb in each to finish. Each level is based around related myths and legends. The gameplay consists of running and jumping through each level, collecting objects and weapons, fighting enemies and solving puzzles. Enemies include skeletons, demons, wraiths, mummies and vikings. Weapons include a sword, gun and fireballs. Each level contains a mythical boss enemy, such as Medusa, Thor and a Hydra. Puzzles involve using the right object in the right location to progress, such as throwing skulls into a pit of fire to summon a monster, and using the right weapon against enemies, such as attacking a specific monster with tridents. The user manual gave some background information about the various myths referred to in the game and gave hints to the puzzles

Do you still eat bologna and spam sandwiches? I do. On a warm day I’d make and still make a simple bologna and cheese and tomato on white bread and a little mustard. Fried spam and bologna on cooler days with mayo or cool whip and mustard with tomatoes.

Cliffs Notes appreciation post- these bad boys bailed me out of many a tight spot back in high school and college!

CliffsNotes was started by Nebraska native Clifton Hillegass in 1958. Hillegass hired literature teachers to condense works of literature into concise summaries, commentaries, author biographies and character analyses.

Decided to do something constructive with my day and finally find out who shot J.R. I was a kid when it happened, so it only took me 45 years to get around to it.

Phil Collins- in the air tonight

Well, I remember, I remember to my way

How could I ever forget the first time?

The last time we ever met

But I know the reason why you keep your silence up

No, you don't fool me

The hurt doesn't show, but the pain still grows

It's no stranger to you or me

I can feel it coming in the air tonight, oh Lord

I've been waiting for this moment for all my life, oh Lord

Can you feel it coming in the air tonight, oh Lord

I've been waiting for this moment for all my life, oh Lord

Oh Lord
