I am really trying to learn chess right now. But Gambonanza got in the way, and I am convincing myself that it is also a form of learning chess, right?

As the title suggests, I finally want to get serious about learning chess! That is why I wrote about it and why I am posting it here now! I am doing this to maybe put a little pressure on myself by telling people on the internet about it. I want to learn chess, but I am afraid to hit that "PLAY" button. Maybe some of you have been there and can give me some tips on how to overcome this fear, or at least how to start making it smaller!
