Army Mess Cape

There are only two branches of the US Military that authorize capes: the Marine Corps and the Army. The Air Force got rid of their capes a few years ago.

I saw the cape in the store and asked what uniform it goes with and I told them I had to have it. I was at the store getting measured for another kind of uniform (Pinks and Greens) at the time and this cape that was on a mannequin caught my eye.

Per regulation, the Army mess cape is completely optional wear and is only authorized for Officers with the Army Mess Dress uniform.

The lining of the cape coincides with your branch colors. For me, maroon = Army Medical.

I’ve seen pictures in the wild but haven’t run into anyone else rocking the cape at the 6 military balls I’ve been to so far. It’s time to bring back the cape!!!

Shout out to Larry Davids cameo character in Seinfeld who tried to make cape successful in the 1990s only to be met with overwhelming prejudice and mockery

Some Cloaks I've Made (80% wool blend, nice and heavy)

I'm going to be a vendor for the first time at my local Renaissance Faire, so I thought I'd do a little photoshoot up in the hills. I think it turned out nicely :)

Any members here from Belgium, Germany, France, Austria, Hungary or Holland ? I would like to get to know more people with a passion for capes in North Western and Middle Europe.

Good afternoon I do not know this community so long and I was wondering whether there are members here living in Europe. If so, I would like to connect.

Custom made cape - where to buy

Hi all

For my (Pakistani) wedding i has the idea to throw a curve ball on tradition and add a unique element to the mix, that being, as you guessed : a cape.

Thought it was something easy, rendered a picture using ai and after a few prompts the cape came our how i wanted.

However i have no idea how to find any suppliers that would make this type of stuff , what my search terms should be , and frankly i don't even know if it's realistic.

The closest thing I found was a cape that looked nothing alike for around 2400€ , is that the common price for a heavily embroidered cape ?

Any help - suggestion - search terms or general remarks are welcome , I've added my ai photo below to show the wanted result.
