I still don't understand what the controversy was.

I still don't understand what the controversy was.

James is big Ghostbusters fan with a bunch of Ghostbusters content on his channel, so naturally, his viewers would expect him to review the movie. He makes a video saying he won't do that because the movie doesn't look any good based on the trailer. He remains calm throughout the whole video, all his arguments are reasonable and he never gets into anything even remotely political. Somehow, this caused a lot of people to bombard him with insults and accusations, and it wasn't just random people on twitter. Even celebrities like Patton Oswald got involved in this. I really don't understand what's supposed to be so controversial about simply not wanting to watch a movie.

Yeah, AVGN doesn't really stick to one formula for the character.

Of course almost every episode has the most well known elements of the AVGN show: That being anger, regardless of how horribly made the game is. Heck, exagerration is what makes the show fun.

This is the iconic formula that stuck on from Season 3 onwards, that, people forget that AVGN can't just be flanderized to angry maniac, it builds up from the "washed-up" being still playing video games as an adult. Heck, it's the opposite that him being less angry makes him less AVGN; it's the fact that only the anger is the centerpoint of the character people criticized on (aside from Youtube sucking balls), that made the show lose its identity.

But of course the show's "reviews" are unintentionally responsible for getting people on bandwagons on games due to well, "The Nerd said it", for years and years, lmao.

Recent examples I could think of that got some attention was Ecco the Dolphin. The former even having the creator tweeting about it. During this time, the Nerd hadn't really touched any okay or just average, or praisable ones then dumped on it. It's like back to Castlevania 2. (Though this would be hit or miss, especially if there's not enough material to exagerrate and be funny on)

You, what's your favorite AVGN character formula on the show? I know Rolfe made his own episode formulas, but this is on the character. I've grown to like Season 1 and 2 more looking back.

I keep seeing videos of the “AVGN Dance” on my feed but I can’t find the original, does anyone have a link or know where it comes from?

I’m genuinely curious as to what the original is, I don’t remember him doing that dance as far as I could tell.

Spyro trilogy ps1 review??

Love everything about these games, from the soundtrack to the gameplay and the stunning visuals. Even the simple story lines. But there are very frustrating points throughout the trilogy that I would love to see James’ perspective on
