Confession: I dug the Nostalgia Critic/AVGN crossover review of THE MUMMY 2017, and before/if either of them retires, I want them to do another one for LEE CRONIN'S THE MUMMY.
I know they're both old and varying degrees of bald now, but MUMMY 2026 would give them a bunch of potential material to work with.
"Holy shit... a scorpion just burst from her throat?!? WHAT THE FUUUUUUCK?!?"
*insert Doug and James as Sub-Zero and Scorpion for overlong green screen sketch*
Had a Bimmy moment last night.
Remember when he did the Robocop games and in Robocop 2 he had trouble using the stairs. Last night my room mate was drunk and falling on top of me trying to get up the stairs and I straight yelled "Get up those fucking stairs." Thanks James for encouraging me to help people use stairs.
What's one episode you think is underrated?
I've been doing a rewatch lately and I forgot just how good the Atari Sports episode was.
Serious question
We all know that Screenwave just kind of "showed up" on the channel. What do you think would have happened, honestly, if they had been properly introduced? Would the trajectory of the channel have been different? (I guess in an alternate reality somewhere they were formally introduced).
What was your first sign cinemassacre was going to shit?
I don't mean "first bad avgn episode", I mean the first clue that you realized some fuckery happened. For me it's when James announced Mike leaving in addition to the rental reviews videos having complete strangers, fat slobs that I never saw before on the channel.
Did anyone else watch AVGN during its brief run streaming on "Amazon.com Prime" circa 2018?
And why did it get pulled? Does Jeff Bezos want us to suffer?
Beautiful shot composition
I love it when every frame of a movie is beautifully arranged. The dragon reinforces the juxtaposition between the past and the future, the green divide between them and now, between thiccness and Bim.
You know what's BULLLLLLSHIT?
Bimmy. I mean, don't get me wrong, it was good when it started. You know, it's based in the Double Dragon episode, it rolls off the tongue, it's a good nickname for me. Then they came out with Bames Ralph. That's fine I guess, I mean if Jimmy is James then Bimmy would be Bames, and Ralph kinda sounds like Rolfe, yeah that's alright, I can see where they were going. But then they came up with shit like Bimothy. I mean, my name isn't even Timothy, like, what the fuck were they thinking! And then like Bimboclat, like what the fuck is up with that? And Bim Bam, Bimster, Bimbo, it's like they stick B at the beginning of every word and then it's me. Does that mean Bootsy is me? Does that mean Baseball is me? I guess I like myself then. Like, imagine if I called myself the Bangry Bideo Bame Berd. But no, it doesn't even end there, then they fucking go and break their own goddamn rules, cause there's shit like Pimmel, what in the name of shitballs is that, it doesn't even have a B in it! And don't even get me started on Bpril. How do you even fucking pronounce that shit?! So, the point is, just call me Bimmy if you have to, this other shit just doesn't make sense. It's just random words, and THAT is bullshit.
*cue banjo music*
This video's 10th anniversary. No Celebration. I refuse.
The lamentation of "the nerd"
I was rewatching the "rob the robot" episode and this scene reminded me of a certain painting. Made me laugh, hope it gives you a chuckle.
What is the "quintessential" Nerd episode?
What is the one episode you would say sums up the entire series? If you could only show one episode to someone who had never seen anything AVGN before, which one would you pick?
