What "A prophecy that misread could have been" actually means

Every time I say that Palpatine’s return in The Rise of Skywalker ruins Anakin’s arc in Return of the Jedi, where he saves his son and eliminates the Emperor, fans insist that the Jedi were wrong. They claim that the true "balance of the Force" is a literal balance between light and darkness, and that Anakin brought balance by leaving the exact same number of Jedi and Sith alive at the end of Episode III. They defend this stance by hiding behind Yoda’s line: "A prophecy that misread could have been."

Alright, let’s break this down piece by piece.

George Lucas has stated across various media, such as the Prequel DVD documentaries, The Clone Wars audio commentaries, and The Star Wars Archives book, that the true essence of the Force is the Light, that the dark side is a cancer, and that Anakin restores balance to the universe by exterminating Palpatine at the end of Episode VI. Therefore, you cannot rely on the personal assumptions of other characters when the original creator of the saga confirms that "balance" means the absence of evil.

Having cleared up the most important part, what did Yoda actually mean by "A prophecy that misread could have been"?

Simple: everyone assumed Anakin would bring balance, but nobody knew exactly how.

In the final arc of The Clone Wars Season 6 (Episodes 11, 12, and 13), Master Yoda goes on a spiritual journey guided by Qui-Gon Jinn and the Force Priestesses. During his journey, Yoda must pass several spiritual trials to learn how to retain his consciousness after death and become a Force ghost, and what he discovers is crucial. He faces his own arrogance in the form of a "Dark Yoda," realizing that the Jedi were neither perfect nor free of flaws. In his final trial, he is given the chance to learn the true identity of the Sith Lord controlling the Senate and manipulating the Clone Wars (Chancellor Palpatine) before the tragic events of Episode III unfold. However, instead of giving in to the temptation of exposing Darth Sidious to save the Jedi Order from its imminent fall, Yoda chooses to forfeit that information. By doing so, he grasps the true meaning of the Prophecy; he understands that Anakin Skywalker truly is the Chosen One and that his destiny is to bring balance, which is why he chooses to save Anakin's life in his vision instead of letting him die. The Priestesses make it clear to Yoda that the Jedi Order will fall and that they will not win the current war. However, through their faith in the Chosen One, they will plant the seed for a greater victory: "Not victory in the Clone Wars, but victory for all time."

J.J. Abrams threw all this lore into the trash with The Rise of Skywalker. If Palpatine survived (or returned in a clone body), Anakin’s ultimate sacrifice in Episode VI to save Luke and destroy the Sith loses all its value. Yoda’s entire painful acceptance in The Clone Wars, where he lets the Order fall while trusting in a "victory for all time" through Anakin, becomes utterly pointless if the Sith threat was merely paused for a few decades. The Emperor's return is a cheap, improvised excuse by Disney solely to boost the box office, completely ignoring the fundamental rules of Lucas's own mythology.

So please, stop spamming that Yoda scene from Episode III out of context. Thank you very much.

Who is this clone trooper seen at the clone bar and what is his legion?

Noticed this clone trooper talking to a Twilek lady at 79's clone bar and i have always wondered what legion he is from and if he is named, i have searched for a few weeks about this mysterious clone and have not found anyone else who has noticed this clone and his armor, i am guessing the colors on his armor or grey but it could be a different darker color but it maybe looks gray because of the lighting at the bar or something but the torso armor piece on the back if it is gray reminds me of 104th battalion which is the wolfpack with Plo Koon and Commander Wolffe, the only problem is that every single wolfpack trooper ever has the same shoulder armor plate paint design of the wolf, and this clone is completely different, any help would be appreciated!

Why was Commander Cody so underutilized?

Throughout all the seasons in the series, the only time Cody takes any sort of prominent role is: Rookies, The Hidden Enemy, Prison Break arc, and like a few other episodes. I can’t help but wonder why was he never utilized the way Rex was. He has such a cool character design and IMO is better than Rex. I really wish we could’ve seen more of him throughout the series.

Ki-Adi-Mundi Is NOT a war criminal.

Listen, I do not like Ki-Adi-Mundi. He’s not a good Jedi and he’s barely even a good general. He’s awful to his clones and he’s generally just not a good person. However. He is not a war criminal. I see so many people bring up the flamethrowers. Assuming that Star Wars laws around war are similar to the Geneva convention. Flamethrowers aren’t against the Geneva convention. What is against it is using flamethrowers when risk of civilian population may be of risk (which wasn’t a worry in that scene.) dropping flame based substances from the air at a military occupation when there is risk of civilian property destruction. (Again doesn’t apply) and finally there are rules against using flamethrowers when there’s a change you will light vegetation on fire. I.E forests or large patches of crops. Which isn’t an issue in a rock cave. So no. At least in this scene. Ki-Adi-Mundi, is NOT a war criminal. And definitely doesn’t come as close to the amount of fake surrenders that anakin and obi wan excel in.

Best way to watch Clone Wars?

Apparently this post was unacceptable to r/StarWars so trying here🙃

I’ve recently been rewatching a lot of SW content, I’ve just finished Andor, Rouge One & the OT
I want to go back and watch the prequels and Clone Wars (which I’ve seen bits of in the past but not the whole thing!)

What’s the best way to go about it? Do I watch Ep 1 and 2 and then the Clone Wars movie & series and then Ep 3?

I’ve seen a previous post (can’t remember which subreddit) that lists the Clone Wars series and movie in chronological order so I might try that? But just wondering where the prequel movies should come into it (or do I just watch eps 1-3 independently?)

Also I’m not super familiar with all the other series from around that time so are there any series or specific eps that you’d recommend to add into the mix too?

Thanks!!

Clone Wars Live-Action Fan Film!

I’m posting on behalf of my friend Phoebe Rodgers who put together an incredible team to make this happen. She doesn’t know I’m posting here (a surprise to be sure, but a welcome one.)

This is an Anakin and Padmé short film inspired by Season 7 Episode 2 of The Clone Wars.

It takes place right before Anakin’s fall to the dark side, and features flashbacks from earlier moments in his life.

It is one of the first times we get to see a scene from The Clone Wars translated into live action.

Along with this, lead actors Phoebe Rodgers & Haydin Hartley wrote and choreographed two original scenes for this film- with Phoebe Rodgers & Emma Schwartzmiller designing and creating an original Padmé gown.

This project was made by fans and for fans.

No monetization. See disclaimers at the beginning and end for more legal information.

We were a very small team of only 10 people!

Nothing was pulled from other projects. All sound is original, all VFX and location shots were created by our team, and all music is original.

Thank you!
And may the force be with you.

What on earth is Rexsoka

Im kind of new to the fandom so I've just been watching some compilations and like scrolling through stuff and I had no idea that Rexsoka was a thing. I dont like ship shaming but it honestly weirds me out cause like... he watched her grow up. Does anyone have a different perspective on this or feel the same way, because I genuinely haven't seen it before and im really confused where it came from 😐

What episode is best to start with to convince my girlfriend to watch TCW

I've watched the clone wars at least 3 times and it's one of my favourite shows. My girlfriend has agreed to try it finally, she has only watched the prequels and OG trilogy so she has the main background knowledge. I think if I start on S1 with her she won't really get into it so what arc/episode do you guys think is best to try first?
