How hard is it to not accidentally void the “Standing Alone” no summons achievement?

Gonna start this game for the first time soon and I’m very happy to see how simple the platinum journey is! The only missable stuff is playing on the hardest difficulty, doing all the side quests, getting the true ending, and never summoning any helpers.

I just want to be sure that it’s obvious when summoning a helper. Are they always a clear summon sign right next to the boss fight entrance? Or are there less obvious summons that could ruin the Standing Alone achievement? Like just talking to someone or interacting with something in the middle of nowhere.

Thanks!

My jaw just dropped at Ozma’s 3rd phase

Like come on man. I really thought I had just done it. Barely any health left. No heals left. Any tips for surviving until the 3rd phase with plenty of ammo?

My Ranking of all the bosses

Beat the game on expert mode no summons. Almost no consumables and except for a couple no phantom mode as well.

I used the spear, early game just mix match, mid game i stuck to fallen lords and at the end i used faded memories to beat the final boss.

My highest death count was on Ozma, around high 20s. But that is pretty inflated cause i quit the game for a few days in between due to some irl issues. Second highest would be maluca at around 12. And least is Elamein at 0. I had a lot of fun with this game.

Edit: mb on the typo 😭

Reflection on reflection. Did I play the game wrong?

Ok so I finished Khazan two weeks ago and I loved it. Went with a Dual Wield build while using mostly dodging.

One thing that saddens me is that I didn’t have the patience to learn reflection well. I tried for a while but it just didn’t work and felt stupid. I managed to finish Sekiro, but couldn’t get to reflect.

Did I play the game wrong? Did I miss something unique that enriched the game by a lot?

Brehs, I don't even understand levels. How does the right provide more defense than the left. I understand different set bonuses and all that, but they practically weigh the same with a 39 Level gap

Can't get chest loot

I opened a chest while having full inventory now I can't get the gear in the chest and the game just gave me random item and the full inventory message, instead of the crimson fiend set, what should I do?

Struggling on expert, first playthrough

This game is punishing me significantly. Not quite sure what I’m doing wrong but it seems to be mostly with boss fights. I’m currently using the spear which seems to be the easiest weapon to grasp with fewer punishes. I also want to add that I’ve beaten the main souls games such as Bloodbourne, All DS, ER, Sekiro (Hardest).

This game is brilliant nonetheless but I think so far that this could be the hardest souls like I’ve played by a small margin from Sekiro. I could do with some early game tips as I’ve just beaten the spider.

I finally got the Platinum trophy for Khazan in one playthrough!

The combat in Khazan is so damn good and addictive. I honestly had such a great time playing it. This is definitely one of my favorite Soulslikes, along with Black Myth: Wukong and Lies of P.

I feel like this game is seriously underrated, and I really hope it gets more attention because it deserves it.

The boss I struggled with the most was Ozma. That third phase had me stuck for like 3 hours straight I almost lost my mind, but finally beating him felt so damn satisfying and the battle felt cinematic.

Definitely one of the best Soulslikes I've played.

Flashcutter, what a G!

Kept dying to this attack, and tried this skill for the first time in this fight. Damn!!!! For someone who doesn’t want to learn reflection, lifesaver!! Automatic counter for 1 soul? Yes please!!

gear help

I'm on my first Expert playthrough. I have a level 25 Gilded Plate armor set that I really like, I am level 50. I am at Palemion Citadel and I feel a bit under leveled, and I feel like the boss fight will be a bit too challenging. I know I will unlock upgrading gear set after this mission. Is there a decent/similar gear to the Gilded Plate set that I can farm before/or in Palemion Citadel to make this level/boss a bit easier/manageable?

The shield boss.. I think this might be where I quit the game

You guys know who I’m talking about, I don’t wanna spoil it.

But basically I think this boss checks all the boxes for horrible design. I know git gud and all that. I’ve beaten all of Fromsoft games and their DLCs including sekiro, I’ve beaten Wukong LoP Wuchang, now I WAS enjoying Khazan. Some of the bosses gave me trouble with elemental damage, difficult timing, stamina regen and heal, but they are fun to learn and mastering them was amazing, and you are awarded for playing aggressively, which these games tend to do and I love that.

But now this boss… always has the shield up, if you attack the shield it’ll power up, stand too close you’ll get grabbed and that’s a crazy damage, too far and there’s long distance attacks and AoEs, oh wait there’s more now elemental damage that affects your stamina, which is the most important of the game. Oh and odd timings of attacks, sudden charges, etc. like idk feels like artificial difficulty.

I really am hitting a wall but not in a fun way, which is different from my souls/like experience. Am seriously considering dropping the game but if there is any inputs on how I can proceed I’ll try it, because honestly the bosses mechanics before this were amazing. Such a shame.

The First Berserker Review

Bro I don't know but this game was so much easier for me. I managed to defeat Ozma, Rees and Hismar in my first try. Ig it is because I was using the spirit of advocacy every time and was playing at normal difficulty. Trokka and Maluca took some time otherwise most of the bosses were like 2 or 3 try max. I managed to complete all Main and side quests under 31hr of playtime. I have also played Black myth wukong and it was difficult for me. Erlang shen and that tiger was hell but still managed to finish that also.

What's your opinion on this game?
