small rant/help

Recently, this year it's been hard to continue to like the gazette. I barely post about them or even listen to their music anymore. I find myself sad that I can't continue to like my favorite band after everything that has happened... I don't know what to do and I know that there are others who feel similar to me. How do you go about this? Should i just take a break from them or no? The pain of thinking about what happened is at the back of my mind constantly when i think about them. I really can only talk about Reita still without being totally sad. Please help me.

Indies Deep Dive: GazettE's interview in SHOXX (2004.5 vol. 125)

Back with another week sharing some scans and fun facts from GazettE's old interviews.

This interview covers the process of recording the band's first mini album COCKAYNE SOUP and breaks down the track list.

  • Ruki jokes that they spent so long in the recording booth that when they emerged they grew facial hair.
  • Kai stayed at Reita's house overnight to work on the rhythm sections. When Reita thought they were done discussing recording and tried to go to bed, Kai would ask if he was still up and keep talking (lol)

COCKAYNE SOUP Track Breakdown

Beautiful 5[shit]ers: Ruki suggests paying attention to his vocals because he used a deeper voice for his screams/shouts. The background shouts in the chorus are from both Aoi and Ruki.

32koukei no Kenjuu: Ruki shares that the guitar parts trade off between the left and right speakers. To guide Uruha with creating the guitar parts, Ruki told him to imagine a tatami room in a Showa-era apartment where someone has committed suicide.

Shiawase na Hibi: The band previously played this song but when they recorded it they slowed down the tempo. Ruki says recording the vocals took quite a bit of time and was draining.

Haru ni Chirikeri, Mi ha Kareru de Gozaimasu: Uruha says he adapted his playstyle throughout the track, switching between the aggressive and softer sections.

What is your favorite track from this mini album?

As always hope ya'll enjoy this and I'll continue to work on this deep dive project ^^ I also maintain a catalogue of my magazine/media collection and accept scan requests.

What's the coolest/rarest gaze merch you own?

This subs been kinda dead so why don't you guys share some of the coolest things in your collections? I think for "rarest" mine would be the pre gaze photos of Reita performing without his noseband I bought awhile ago. Then I have a few photos from their indies days that are signed by the guys, some of them even have Yune's signature! :)

What’s going on?

Seriously, after Reita’s passing everything seemed to go downhill.
Not only the album and band activities are just myths, this whole AOI situation seems weird.
I bet it’s different for most people but for me personally?
It was done after Reita.I could tell that nothing’s gonna be normal ever again.
Also his last tweet makes me wonder if these stuff were somehow happening before his death as well? Like it’s not some recent, popping problem; but an old wound with a long history that’s now out of hand.
There seems to be so many things we don’t know, and it’s not going well.

Indies Deep Dive: GazettE's interview in SHOXX (2003.4. vol. 124)

Sharing my HQ scans of GazettE's second interview with SHOXX and a few fun facts!

Some takeaways from the interview that I found interesting:

  • This interview takes place during the bands coupling tour with Hanamuke titled "Otoko Danketsu Shiri" (男ダンケツ尻). They discuss their experiences on tour, their relationship with Hanamuke, and their upcoming consecutive three-month mini-album release campaign, starting with COCKAYNE SOUP on May 28th, 2003.
  • The tour organizers assigned hotel rooms shared between members from each band but they were surprised to find the rooms had single double beds.
  • The word "COCKAYNE" in COCKAYNE SOUP means "addictiveness" and "SOUP" refers to music so the aim of the mini album was to create addictive songs.
  • COCKAYNE SOUP is the first recording done with Kai.
  • Reita says that Ruki has odd eating habits with a preference for super rich tasting foods. For example, a cheese rice bowl smothered in mayo.
  • The band members make fun of Uruha for being generally indecisive because he overthinks everything.
  • Reita shared that Ruki gets highly irritable during long road trips if he cannot eat at his preferred restaurants. Reita recalls one time at a drive-thru where Ruki ordered two hamburgers but received only one. Having already eaten the first burger quickly, Ruki discovered the second was missing and spent the remainder of the trip sulking in a blanket.

Hope ya'll enjoy this and I'll continue to work on this deep dive project ^^ I also maintain a catalogue of my magazine/media collection and accept scan requests.
