I've been a huge fan of the Wardstone Chronicles since I picked up The Spook's Apprentice years ago. But man, that finale. What the actual frick?

I powered through all the books (including the extras) expecting some kind of satisfying payoff for everything Tom and Alice went through together. Their whole relationship was built up across the entire series just to end like that???

I get that the world is dark and gritty, and not every story needs a Disney ending. But this one left me feeling empty and frustrated rather than moved. It almost feels like character development and emotional investment were thrown out in the final books.

Has anyone else felt this way? Am I alone in thinking the ending really dropped the ball on Tom and Alice's arc? Or did I miss something that makes it better on a re-read?

Rant over. Just needed to get this off my chest because it's been bothering me since I turned the last page. The series had so much potential for an epic end.... feels bad man

So I am on book dark assasin and I have heard that after that books are very depressing so should I read them if so then should I read all 4 books ?? Like how is it as series

If one day, pendle clans are reunited in one witch clan, which wardstone chronicles characters are mostly against it and which for union ?

Unless I missed it when reading but did they ever say what happened to Alice and Tom after death? Alice presumably would’ve gone to the dark, but the many times we go there, we see neither hide nor hair of her. Is it clarified somewhere

About to finish Wulfs Bane today. Honestly I hate where these books are going. Should I just end it here or finish the series? Im scared it’ll ruin the original series for me.
