My positive/optimistic view on the final scene of the movie
All the pagans/Danes we love ARE in Valhalla, they just weren't all at that table. I'm sure they were around somewhere off camera, as it only showed one end of one table. Young Ragnar, Sigtrygger, Gisela, etc were probably off somewhere else in Valhalla at the time. However the real sad thing that is true is that all of Uhtred's Christian friends are in heaven so they will likely never see him again, unless there is some way to visit, which is a comforting thought but doesn't seem likely
Why is there such on obvious quality drop off after season 3?
I watched the first season when it was on TV years ago and loved it but never watched any more for whatever reason. Over the last week or so I’ve rewatched season 1 and watched up to season 5 episode 2. So far season 5 is almost unwatchable, it’s that bad, but the drop off clearly started in season 4. The completely stupid and fictional ‘capture’ of Winchester was completely ridiculous, as was Edwards attempted recapture. Brida was a character I liked in the early seasons but her writing has become some of the worst in the show, she’s now excruciatingly annoying. What happened to the show? Were the later seasons made by different people, different writers? I know there is a movie too but I don’t know if I will even finish season 5 at this point.
"I am Alfred, Athelwulf's son, king of the kingdom of the Westsaxons. Who are you?" in Old English
Hello everyone,
this is my first post here.
I wasn't sure what flair it should have so I put "meme".
Sidric just scored an absolute blinder against South Africa
Once a Viking always a Viking /s
Favorite episodes
I'm on my umpteenth rewatch and am curious as to what TLK fan's favorite episodes are. For me it's S3 E9, I mean the conversation between Alfred and Uhtred is beautiful and S5 E2. It is a dark fucking episode!! Castration (I know it happened in an earlier episode) cancer, heartbreak and incredible cinematography.
SWORDS!!! HOW MANY TIMES DO I NEED TO SAY IT? HOW MANY TIMES AM I TO BE IGNORED
Berg Skallargrimmrson
I could be completely misremembering and then missed something, but I’m sure that when Uhtred saved Bergs life on the beach and takes him into his service, there’s a line something like ‘I didn’t know it yet but saving Berg meant Alfred’s dream of Englaland would become real’
I then don’t remember that paying off - unless it was very subtle. Was it because that then brought Egil and Thorolf to Uhtreds side? Were any of them really that decisive? Excellent friends and ally’s of course, but no more than a whole score of other characters
What did everyone think of Seven Kings Must Die?
I used to be a huge the last Kingdom fan but haven’t seen the series in a year or so and I always wanted to ask when the movie came out. What did people think of it? The TV show is super highly rated and I feel it was highly adored by me included, but what about the movie? Do people feel the same way?
just curious to hear people’s thoughts and opinions as I’m not really sure how to feel about it myself :)
Just amazing
Just got done binge watching the 5 seasons and the movie. Holy hell did I enjoy the show a lot, the movie was weird but still good. I would have never believed a medieval times show could be that emotional. DESTINY IS ALL.
Any other show recommendations like this one??
On my 4th rewatch and this is still my favorite line
Uhtred's fade
I wouldn't be surprised if he did his face with his sword
Watched The Parent Trap with the kids and had forgotten this amazing butler character
Kids loved it btw
The last kingdom☝🏻
I completed the whole show and watched the movie of 7 kings must die .. i must say it was soo good definitely worth a watch and the gisela part and how the character development of each character like alfred , aethelred was goood … should i watch vikings next?
Just finished the show
I just finished watching the show and the movie and man! The way I cried 😭 I am so gonna miss this like I want more please give me more. And where was stiorra in the movie??!! Uhtred has my heart like make him the king of everywhere, I need an uhtred in my life like everytime I have a minor inconvenience and I'm like uhtred help! And he comes in and saves the day, ah!
Also finan is so funny, I love his timely humor and he is so handsome like o em zeee I mean with that accent pleaseeeeee. Sihtric is no less, he is so sexy and slutty like okay chill we get it and how he keeps getting sexier with his hair like chillllllll
Brida did grow a little annoying but I get it, I understand her and my heart aches for her. Poor girl had nothing and no one left, just kept fighting and fighting for nothing, hoping death would catch her.
Aethelflaed was EVERYTHING like EVERYTHING I mean EVERYTHING like give her EVERYTHING... She should've been the queen of england ALONG SIDE UHTRED! Like no one deserved the title of kind of england more than him 😭 I know he didn't want the title but he deserved it! More than anyone like if it wasn't for him, it never would've come true atleast not when it did. Uhtred did so much, lost so much, and in return those people just kept saying "we owe you are lives" and when it was time to do something for him, they did little to nothing like come on you wouldn't be alive if it wasn't for him.
Sigtryggr ugh sexy and intelligent and so ugh he had this energy about him that just made him so cool. The way he seeked peace and died with a smile 😭 he did not deserve it
I have so much to say 🥀 maybe another time.
A word for Sigtryggr
Was one of my favorite characters in the show.
I really wished to see him more often in the series.
What is "Burnstone"? In season 5, someone picks up a cross and says "Burnstone. Very pretty". I'm interested in minerals/materials so I looked it up and I can not find any sort of material called "burnstone". Maybe the netflix captions are wrong & he said something else?
If anyone needs the scene, it's season 5 episode 5 around 6 and a half minutes in. I am not saying who said it just in case people who haven't seen season 5 yet don't want to be spoiled on who's in it
Have been binging the shoe- on s4 now
Never read the books and don't know much about the history.
Really enjoying it but S4 Edward is such a shit compared to S3 Edward. Alfred wasnt my favorite but show is really missing his presence.
