Is The Holloway Manor worth it?

Deciding between getting the regular or premium edition of sinking city 2, the quality of Holloway Manor will be the deciding factor. Can someone tell me if it’s worth it? I don’t mind it not being overly long, as long as it’s not too short and feels high quality. How does it compare to areas in the main game, for example.

You can craft items in SC2

Am I too dumb for not noticing that we could craft items through the main menu for the first 3 hours? I was trying to survive without ammo and I was asking myself when I would finally be able to get a crafting table. The fact is: you don't need one, you can craft simply by entering the menu.

(SC2) How the gore?

Call me a maniac but I want a cool gore experience. Does Sinking City 2 deliver grizzly bullet wounds, blood stains, sprays on walls? Gimme all the grizzl.

"Just run"

I swear the gangbang that ALWAYS happens whenever you use a key item is exhausting.
Really longing for NG+ with the infinite ammo & OP weapon unlocks 😅

Easter Egg in hospital

I didn't print it because I don't want to spoil anyone, but there's an Easter egg in the hospital with references to the Ukrainian war. If any of the devs are reading this: I want to send you a virtual hug and say I'm loving your game. Thank you for your amazing work!

Finished the game!

The Sinking City 2 !!!

What a great game, absolutely enjoyable! The feeling of cosmic dread and constant push for survival really made this stand out!

Haven't felt this unnerved since, idk playing Silent Hill 2 maybe? Things just kept getting creepier and I loved every second of it! The graphics, videos, and VA were just so phenomenal - thank you to everyone behind this game!

Curious

The first game was awesome. Something I don't understand is, why rate this game a 1? It's a free country and I guess it's free to obviously grief the creators of the game.

This game is kicking my ass. (Spoilers)

I’d say pretty seasoned as a survival horror gamer. Been playing RE since it’s 2nd release back in ‘98 and recently beaten Cronos and Silent Hill F but this for some reason is kicking my ass. Those spitting fuckers along with those zombies is handing my ass to me in that printing factory.

Hot take, but i prefer The Sinking City 1 over 2

First off, i'd like to give a shoutout to Frogwares, they absolutely knock it out of the park with The Sinking City 2, the game has beautiful graphics, very competent survivor horror design, just enough length to not overstay its welcome. I enjoy every minutes of it!

However, i still feel The SC1 offer a very unique experience that i can't say i managed to find elsewhere. And SC2, due to the genre switch, didn't managed to satisfy me the same way.

Most of what SC1's lack is the budget and experience, they got a very good foundation. I love the grander, more social commentary story bits from SC1. I also love the investigation aspect of SC1 more, in 2 it felt more forced. SC2 is darker and might be more spooky, but the dread and unsetling feeling (even in broad day light) of 1 is a lot more suffocating. SC1 differentiate itself from almost everybody, but SC2 just felt like a very solid survivor horror with Eldritch horror theme (Heavy Metal Death Can did it better than SC2, honestly)

All in all, SC2 is undoubtedly the more polished/refined game, but it losts some of the charm that made SC1 special

TSC2 - Help - E.R.C. are empty -

The first time the problem came up in the crypt by the church, the second time was in the printing facility.

Has anyone else the same problem?

To the Devs: would it be possible to implement a crouch mechanic?

Would it be possible to implement a crouch mechanic? Not a real sneaking system. It actually doesn't even need to impact the enemie's perception. It just feels wrong to be casually walking around the foes all the time.

By the way: Wow! I played the first game and also some of your Sherlock Holmes titles. I enjoyed them all. But this time you lifted the quality to a whole new level. I'm only about 2 or 3 hours in the game and I'm so thrilled to see what's yet to come!

Buy or Wait for Sale?

I absolutely love survival horror games. Cronos, Dead Space and RE9 are some of my favorite games ever.

all the games I mentioned above are like 15-25 hours long and I hear from reviewers Sinking City is a bit on the shorter side compared to them. It’s the only reason I haven’t bought it yet.

I know it’s early but I was wondering what everyone’s thoughts were? Do you recommend purchase now or wait for a sale?

Thank you!

Couple of photos from #2

Welcome to Arkham! The world that Frogwares was able to create during such turmoil in the real world is a testament to their talents and passion! Arkham is beautiful and literally drenching with atmosphere and mystery. 10/10 so far for me 🥰 Proud backer here and I even got to be a "yes" somewhere in the game, curious if i'll be able to pick it out 😊

Do yourself a favour and play it in Quality mode

I usually play most of my games on Performance mode, but this game (Sinking City 2) is so blurry. I don’t know the exact internal resolution metrics, but it has to be pretty low. The performance was solid, but felt like I couldn’t appreciate the details and it was harming my experience.

Switched to Quality mode and the difference was night and day. Felt like someone wiped the smudge off my glasses. It felt terrible at first but after half hour my eyes got used it, and it’s definitely my preferred way of playing right now.

I am on Base PS5 btw, but I hear there are no enhancements for the Pro anyways.

Another resident evil or silent hill. Cool but where is the weird characters, fantastical city and wild stories to investigate?

I wanted frogwares darnit. I wanted to be a detective or private eye!!! 😔

Man do I hate these bits...

I truly despise these trap-you-in-a-tiny-room-full-of-monsters-while-something-charges-up-in-the-background bits; hated these in RE, hate them even more here.

Such a pity, as they had something going on with TSC1, I wish they built more upon that foundation rather than completely turning this game into RE.

And whilst I do get it from a pragmatic perspective, enjoying most of what is there even, it still saddens me nontheless.

SC2 End Credits Song

The credits for Sinking City 2 plays a beautiful Ukrainian Language version of the song Raglan Road. I recognised it immediately and ended up scrolling back through the credits to see if it mentioned who it was arranged or performed by.

I assume the games composer since it doesn't seem to list any details at all about it in the credits themselves.

But if anyone has any more info on this version or where I could find it outside of the game, that would be greatly appreciated.

With all the in game nods and references to the invasion and defence of Ukraine, hearing an Irish song being sung in Ukrainian brought some tears to my eyes.

I was streaming my playthrough so fortunately I can skip to it when I want to hear it again, but again, if anyone has any information on how this track came together with regards to its arrangement, translation and performance, I'd love to know.
