Loved One who is Suffering

My wife suffers frequently because her life is not what she wants it to be, she isn't able to do what she wants, etc. We have a disabled son and lots of our our time and attention go toward his well being. I've learned my lesson about trying to be her "guru" and get her to look within for the answers, it doesn't work and makes things worse for her. My question is, other than staying present and working on my own blockages, is there anything I can do to help her? What can I say when she is upset and crying herself to sleep at night? I meditate once or twice per day and have been spending the last few minutes of every session wishing her the strength and energy to handle her experiences and allow the world to be. Is there anything else I can do?

So lately I have a fruit fly infestation in my home that was annoying me.

And today I saw a spider web in the corner of my kitchen and felt great about how I am providing food for all the spiders who live with me. What a great guy I am. 😂

Low hanging fruit first. (and yes I am still trying to remove them, I have tried everything so far, but I let go of the part of me that was being annoyed) I can handle this current reality. Next.

Relax and release

Hi guys,

Sorry another relax and release post.

I thought I was doing it ‘right’ as I found a fair bit of relief but what I’m doing is -noticing my self ruminating/having panicked anxious emotions then internally sort of relaxing my body around the thoughts, my concern is it alleviates the rumination and anxiousness which makes me worry I’m pushing it back down as opposed to letting it pass,I’m not really feeling the feeling, trying to make it more intense and staying with it (as I’ve seen other people mention) Surely what I’m doing is better than my usual status quo…. Panic non stop and ruminate and plan constantly?

Undoubtably the last week has been much more pleasant as ive relaxed into the strong emotions but my concern is I’m not necessarily feeling it pass through.

Do I just continue and see what happens? So much of my anxiety is around perfectionism so I guess this is just it at play again.

Thanks for any help

Let it happen..

Let it happen "the way it is happening"

Usually people heard or read about letting go but they try to let go in their desired ways. And this is not true letting go.. you still try to control things.

True letting go is when you let it happen "the way it is happening".

Mind is clever , it even try to be crafty in letting go. You need to observe this and simply let things happen the way they are happening.

I am aware of the problem - what next?

Hi, I think I still do not understand this teachings. I am aware of what is happening to me and some way I can see I am distanced from the "problem", but nothing gets better because of my that. Maybe I moved from depression to deep sadness, but no solution is coming. It seems this technique is not meant to solve the problem.

Your favourite MS talks?

There are many talks available on YouTube (from seats of contemplation) or Spotify (sounds true) and they help ground me and get in touch with truth so much. I listen on average to one a day for months. Some stand out more than others.

Which talks have a special place in your heart, in terms of how much it has resonated with you or helped you grow?

Four types of reactions

Stage 1 — React as usual Pure automatic pattern. No awareness at all; the old habit just runs the show. This is where most of us default to before any practice.

Stage 2 — React, but witness it as you do Awareness starts creeping in. You still react the old way, but now there's a part of you watching it happen — you notice "I'm doing the thing again" even while doing it. This is the first crack of consciousness entering the pattern.

Stage 3 — React differently than usual The awareness gets strong enough that it doesn't just watch — it intervenes. You consciously choose a new response instead of the default one. More effortful, since you're actively overriding a habit.

Stage 4 — Don't react at all The end goal. You're so unaffected by the inner disturbance that no reaction — old or new — is even needed. You just witness the energy rise and pass, undisturbed, without having to do anything about it.

The progression is basically: unconscious habit → watching the habit → overriding the habit → no habit left to override. Each stage requires less effort and reactivity than the last, even though it may take more inner work to get there.

Grief and loss

Hello, can anyone pinpoint one of Michael's lectures on sounds true where he addresses death, grief and loss? He has many where he talks about these topics but if anyone knows of one that speaks the most in depth, please pass it on to me. My friend is passing away from a long battle with cancer. I want to put myself in the right frame of mind for my last words to her. Michael's teachings always centre me where I can speak not from the ego but from a place of service. My friend is just pure light and love.
