What do you identify as? (Read body text)

Hello everyone!

I've just had a deep dive into games, and what gender dominates popular titles, e.g, Stardew Valley & The Sims Franchise, having a largely female audience.

And it made me think, "What dominates the isle?", so im here with a poll!!

Vote away, please!

(KEEP IN MIND THIS IS NOT A POST TO DISCRIMINATE OTHERS, BE NICE)

Lets pile on with more dreams! Herbi addition

More information on all cards- I never finished these, so card 4 is unavailable.

I have since updated my thinking slightly on a few points which I will leave listed below:

- Card 1 - This is a suggestion to bring more ways plants can be Not Tasty™️, this idea brings more benefit to salt POIs and keeps people from eating everything in sight. Not to mention more diversity/knowledge to herbi gameplay

- Card 2 - Note 2) this has been updated & they are no longer tied

- Card 3 - (n/a atm may come up with clarifiers later)

Update on dino skins for this Hordetest, how to make patterns.

When you take the code and change the number with any dinosaur name with it, it'll reset the skin to the base pattern, but, thanks to "austroraptor FIRST BARY FINDER" in the official isle discord, I learned how to make the patterns work, now you'll be able to actually do whatever skins you wish!

Resuming the video, only remove the dinosaur name and change the first number in the code, most of dinosaurs will have the pattern code be 000, 100, 200, but you will have to check for yourself first to be sure

thats it, simple update on a bug that will probably be patched next update, since I havent seen anyone talk openly about this, here I am

options on the voice chat servers?

personally, it really is nice to see everyone come togather and be wholesome or just have a good time, since the community is rather toxic, i think they're a blessing but also a curse, i been playing them lately and i've had witnessed moments where players just cuss eachother out after being grappled , pinned or drowned

reminds me of COD lobbies lowkey lmao, but they're fun regardless, met alot of nice folk!
but i love your option on these servers!

Was it worth buying?

Hello!

Recently i asked you guys if the game is worth buying:

https://www.reddit.com/r/The\_Isle/s/YLrbyGNtTd

I bought the game and now have about ~10 hours in it, all on unofficial Servers as you recommended me.

I started as Crocodile (Deinosuchus), which is quite challenging as a new player, i moved on to Hypsilophodon rather quickly.

It was an absolute blast as Hypsil, beeing so fast, acid spit and jumping was so much fun while beeing afraid of every small noise was fun too, but i ran about 1-2 hours with absolutely no idea where to find other players.

I found a other player really late which helped me out alot, he showed me that im able to actually hold on terrain and trees, and able to jump around like a squirrel which made me love this Dinosaur even more.

He died rather quick by messing around with trodos, so i was alone again.

Playing Omniraptor was awesome too, and i found some people and it was awesome to hunt as a pack, they also showed me what the Symbols actually mean, how to heal, hunt, find water and food.

I also accidentally became prime elder, which was fun for me and the others because it was by pure luck.

I died to a Carno later, i felt too save on a rock..

Was the Game worth buying?

- The game is absolutely beginner unfriendly.

- It is hard, unforgiving and not intuitive.

- Symbols, Game Controls and Shortcuts are not explained.

- It is indeed buggy some times.

Yet, i still say it was absolutely worth the price, but i am exactly that type of player which enjoys this style of Gameplay, i love if there are consequences for each decision.

What this game really needs is some form of tutorial which shows the basic Control's, i was running around for an houre or two before i found out that i can actually press Q to sniff for food.

I was playing for 6 hours before i someone told me that pressing 1 is a long range call for others, which is quite important.

I believe there are many player who leave the first 1-2 hours because they do not have the patience to find this out by themselves or wait for players to tell them.

But fazit, awesome game, i love it, i really hope im able to nest soon.

Any further tipps for me?

Good prox chat servers?

Hi all, I've been playing a while, and am looking for some new servers to play on.

Normally I play on the Dino Den, but I want to try some prox chat servers. I just downloaded mumble, to join Bosch since everyone told me it was good.
Can't get on since it's so popular lol.

So I'm looking for some more servers to join, bonus if it's prox chat.

poop intervals, another smell to track

I was thinking the only thing the dinos don't really do which they should is poop, what this will do is stop people from bush growing because if you sit for hours on end in a bush your dino is going to poop and other dinos can smell it.

Lag? Not sure what happened here. Attached for a split second then fell off. Anyone else experience this?

Nesting Prime Objective

From my understanding, one of the objectives for Prime is laying eggs and then having to raise the baby dinosaur to 50%.

The 50% requirement seems way too high.

I am 50% on my Dilo, which is the minimum requirement to lay eggs. If I lay eggs now, im cutting it close on getting the babies to 50% before I hit 75%.

Shouldn’t it just be a 25% requirement? Raising them to the point that they are able to hunt and eat on their own?

Or maybe even just laying eggs should be the objective, especially if they intend on adding a Dino whose entire focus is poaching eggs. No requirement would encourage much more players to lay eggs.

As a separate question, if a male and female mate and lay eggs and do the 50% requirement, does the male also get the Prime Objective, or only the Female?

Entombing Question! 🙋🏼‍♀️

Can you entomb and be nested back in? I was playing as a raptor and two of the people in our pack entombed, and were nested in by the other members of the pack. I recently entombed one of my Dino’s, and it didn’t give me an option to be nested or anything. It just spawned me right back in the game. I was confused and I didn’t know how they did it. Does anyone know how to do that?

T Rex is underpowered

Just got killed as a prime adult T Rex with over 800 bite force by a Deinosuchus on land (!) I figured I could take him since I did spend eons growing my Rex, you´d think you could dominate on land then (not counting Triceratops lol) but no, Deinosuchus just has way better DPS I guess.

If you can´t 1v1 Triceratops or Deinosuchus, why even bother playing Rex? One could just stick to Allo instead. He´s faster, grows faster, doesn´t require a billion tons of food and he actually has good abilities unlike the Rex.

Deinoshuchus

So I've joined the party pretty late, but so far the big Croc is my favourite, only problem I've got is that the AI animals don't come to drink and I haven't seen one AI Dino, all the platers are pretty wise to the water.

I always end up dying of starvation, or dying on land trying to find new hunting spots, any advice? :)

The Old Subreddit is now live as read-only (for now)

Hi all,

Off the back of my last post regarding the transfer of ownership of the original subreddit, I’d like to thank all those who have contributed their thoughts and feelings. It’s important I and the team understand everyone’s opinions. Positive and negative.

As promised, I have managed to get Reddit to unlock the restrictions in place and have officially made the original isle sub live again - on a temporary read-only basis.

*This is in effect until all options are explored and considered*

Freedom of knowledge and giving access to what is essentially a digital database across the entire lifecycle of the isle is of my upmost importance and this was the very first thing I have enacted.

I will provide further updates on the old community as and when I have evaluated the situation more and understood completely what needs addressing.
