RTX laptop + fresh Windows install, but Evrima still looks awful — what am I missing?

This is the only game i have experienced this!

I've been getting weird visual issues with red green blue blobs / artifacts. They change with the camera view.

Gone pretty far with troubleshooting:

  • Fresh Windows 11 install
  • Fresh NVIDIA driver install
  • Fresh The Isle install
  • Running Evrima
  • Foliage is turned off
  • Tried changing varius in-game graphics settings
  • Tried DLAA, but it doesn't seem to work either

At this point I'm wondering if there's something specific to Evrima, or NVIDIA settings, or perhaps the laptop itself that I'm overlooking.

Laptop specs:

i7-14700HX

64 RAM

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Laptop GPU (8 GB)

Windows 11 Home / 25H2

If anyone has a similar laptop/GPU setup and has managed to get Evrima looking good and running smoothly, I'd really appreciate knowing what settings you're using.

At this point I'm basically willing to try anything...

Thanks!

Prime question: yes or no?

If a herrera gets infertile early on from losing nutrients, can it still become prime if:

It visits sanctuary

Hits 4 PZ

Hits 2 MZ

Achieves perfect diet

(Does NOT get muscle spasms

Does NOT nest or hatch from egg)

?

Got Banned from Discord (not suprising)

They claimed it was fake since his pfp is different in the isle server, but you can have server specific pfps.

(The original text chats from Lima are not with me, they were posted by another user in the other isle reddit, their post has been removed over there also otherwise i would link it here.)

Congenital hypoalgesia on rex

Im not sure that it works but prime trike and prime deino are bigger than rex mass wise(same for adult trike and frail elder deino), same will be true for spinosaurus(plus camarasaurus and shantungosaurus, if well live to see its release). So basically bleed resist + fracture resist + congenital and the only 3 dinos that can kill rex rn (stego, trike, other rex) will have a harder time in doing that. What do you think?

What is the motivation to play Herbivore in The Isle Evrima?

Good morning,

I recently started playing The Isle Evrima. At first, I mostly played as carnivores—trying to play as the Rex whenever I could—but after a while, I started to really enjoy playing as the Trike.

After a few disastrous attempts, I realized I was basically 12.5 tons of steak for Rexes. So, I decided to step up my game and started watching tutorials and practicing on PVP servers to learn how to defend myself a bit. I have to say, compared to when I started, I've improved a lot. Even though most Rexes can still beat me, I've reached a point where I was able to take down two prime Rexes by myself (they were probably very inexperienced players, but a month ago, I would've been the one dying).

The thing is, in every tutorial I watch, and every time I talk to friendly Rexes on PVP servers—or even when asking AI—everyone agrees that 90% of the time, between two players of equal skill level (a Rex and a Triceratops), the Rex player will win. So, what's the point of playing as a Triceratops, or for that matter, any herbivore in the game?

I understand that it's a survival game, and it wouldn't make sense for Rexes to be hunted down by herbivores either. But I just don't see the motivation to play as a herbivore if, no matter how hard you try to improve, the game seems designed (according to AI) for one to simply be food for the other.

Which leads to my question: What are the benefits of playing as a herbivore in The Isle?

I feel like there’s something off about the Rex in Evrima compared to Legacy

There’s something not right about the head to me. The snout feels thinner, the neck posture is wrong, and the animations feel too dainty. It also just feels too small in game, but I’m not sure if that’s caused by the animations. Am I tripping?

This Game is Dogshit without Oviraptors

This Game, Player base, and Sub are all larping their enjoyment for paleontology. The only evidence I need is the disgusting lack of Oviraptors/Oviraptor glaze. I haven't wasted a single second playing this sceptic tank of a game. And with good reason. Not even worth larping without the GOAT.

This would fix the whole Nesting issue in The Isle, Any thoughts?

The Isle is overall immersive dinosaur game and the environment, playables, and survival experience are top tier. Something that contributes to that immersion is hatching from a nest and starting your playthrough as a wildborn dinosaur fresh from the egg.

I feel like seeing a nest listing is rare even on servers with up to 450 pop, Just me? I wish that when you pull up the egg tab you see a nest 90% of the time. Why is this an issue? Why are there not many players nesting? I think the issue is players are not incentivized to nest due to how hard it actually is to find a mate the time it takes to find the excessive amount of debris you need for some nests and the prolonged gestation period.

My idea to fix this starts with making the nesting process easier. Firstly instead of needing 20 pieces of debris you need only ten, also gestation is 50% faster for all eggs and takes up less nutrients and hunger from your stomach. The next is finding a mate made easy, when a dinosaur hits the age of reproduction a new icon forms on the smelling compass a blue or pink icon depending if your male or female, for example, if the dinosaur gender is female a blue dinosaur symbol will appear on the map and will show where the closest fertile and compatable mate is. This feature will be very similar to the red large herd icon that is already in game. To stop species to species combat with this new feature if you attack your compatible partner your lose a prime condition forever and get a 10% debuff on hp, damage, stam regen for 30 minutes.

To incentivize players to nest more frequently even with the easier nesting process, nesting could be a new prime condition and from the moment your first kid hatches from the nest your dinosaur recieves a permanent maternal or paternal buff of 4% on hp, damage, stam regen, blood regen, this isn't much but it will convince enough players to nest and "max" out their dino.

Overall if this nesting update is added it would heavily contribute to the realism and immersion of The Isle as whole because IRL every dinosaur has a natural incentive to reproduce so it makes sense that we see it more often in the isle.

MZ/PZ Prime task

Hi,

I joined a server where most of the people not belive in visiting zones for prime. They tested with pt and after sanc and perfect diet they just got prime flying around the ocean - no zones. THEY TOLD ME!

I noticed sometimes I dont get prime even if I visited many zones (other tasks done ofc). Some people say zones are bugged. Relog or crash never affect for me. Are those zones really bugged in some areas or is it just not task? Maybe its stam drain/walk around the map? Like Dondi said: play the game for prime

I mean all prime check lists on unofficials are selfmade and you can mod your server however you like. Its not a proof for me.

What do you think about? Maybe people here who tested it themselves?

Getting prime on Omni is miserable

EDIT: Forwarning if theres any instance I say Omni I probably mean Austro I am writing this late at night after cooking in the sun all day I'm super tired thank you

I definitely suck at catching frogs, but I'm raging, Austro should never fight anything bigger than it and I'm down for that, little fishing guy who remains by the seaside packing a nasty kick for anything around its weight or smaller, but omg the B diet is nightmare fuel.

I have never seen a chicken or a rabbit in this game ever, meaning your option is Hypsies, Deino's and frogs.

Hypsies are certainly attainable, if anyone bothers to spawn as one, doesn't help that killing a hypsie in this community means everyone bum rushes you (I killed a hypsie for food when I was nearly starving at night and a pack of previously friendly Dilo's jumped me, its is on me for leaving myself open and thinking the Dilo's would stay friendly was definitely a mistake but it contributes to my point), Deinosuchus, or organs. Every time I have chosen Deinosuchus or organs for my options by waiting under waterfalls and other common places baby Deino's show up, problem is how quickly a Deino can start killing Austro, a deino around half the length of austro can quite quickly kill austro in a lot of confrontations so you need to kill as quickly as possible as even debating drawing out the fight leads to death. And the final option is organs, and it always feels really dirty doing this because it basically means camping common routes to sanctuaries in hope a defenceless baby shows up.

Now how do I fix this problem? Probably by learning the B ai spawn locations, but I normally play on Pieds so AI doesn't spawn there but this rant was mostly spawned from bosch hense me mentioning ai, which only leaves baby camping and desperately pleading for austro to get the preferencial prime treatment other dinos of simular size get (Beipie is my main argument for this, it feels like they're almost meant to be counterparts)

I'm not saying its unreasonable for a dino to specialise in hunting the weak, but it has lead to a pretty frustrating experience when by the time I've run around the map to get everything I need for prime there's just nothing around, other carnivores have wider diets helping them keep 1-2 diets up easily and then organs can fulfil the rest, I never struggle for diets on any other dino except Austro. Austro has slow stamina regen making getting around the map for zones difficult, low HP and weight making any mistake lethal and finally it has an incredibly narrow pool of what it can concider prey. This is the cost of a carnivore that doesn't need to hunt, but it feels quite frustrating as I feel I'm playing the game wrong if I don't gun for prime.

Anyway ik I'm just whining prime isn't impossible I've gotten it twice and then promplty got pounced by omni's and pinslopped to death but thats just how it be sometimes.

Tldr: prime is hard for Austro as its hard to maintain diet due to limited diet options, low HP and weight commonly resulting in death from a single interaction, and I suck at catching AI, and as a result I would like it if Austro could have the prime privalige given to Dryo, Deino, troodon hypsi and Beipie.

This will have been explained poorly, I might clarrify later or maybe I'll wake up tomorrow and question what the hell I was on about and delete this, but I'm tired, goodnight

River delta turned into delta river?

Was it named delta from the beginning or is it because people didn't understand what exactly is delta?

How essential is pvp for you?

For me its as essential as anything else, you dont need to be best, just be better than your opponent and dont panic(easy way to do something stupid) though I'm constantly failing

Dino Den

I’ve been playing DD for about 3 months now and have had lots of fun, then started noticing some weird stuff like how as a rex I body break 2 stegos chasing me and run away not even 2 minutes later (from F2 record and it should take about 10 or so minutes to heal) they track me down through a thick forest in west rails and perfectly run into my bush and bleed me to death, I suspected that was and admin and my ticket was ignored. Next thing I noticed was that the numbers on the server never seem to match how many people are around the map (tho that could just be me) and finally in the DD discord one of the admin posted like 5 paragraphs of why you shouldn’t be disrespectful to staff which I agree to a certain extent where you should be respectful to everyone but then i was permanently banned from the DD discord and server for giving a like on the 🍆 emoji under the post… not to mention anyone else who also got banned for reacting to the post and started talking on the website chat got immediately (*removed by moderator) I’m mostly just confused not even mad like are they just really sensitive because besides some suspected admin abuse and fake pop the server is fun.
