Thermnight or hydra

Looking for some direction with my first thermal purchase. I’ve been looking at the dnt Thermnight 335r or hydra 635r, basically at that 2k price point, or it there a better option within that 2,000 dollar range that I’m overlooking. (Rix s3, agm rattler v2)

Another raccoon

Hopefully this was the one that's been knocking over the neighbor's trash cans and digging up her garden. Smith and wesson 1854 in 357 magnum using 250 grain sub x handloads from about 25 yards using a DNT Hydra hs219. Humidity was about 80%.

The new thermal scope arrived

A few weeks ago I got a DNT Hydra hs219 so I could see the raccoons at night without having to place lanterns around the property. As I was choosing which entry level scope to get, DNT and Goyojo were two that appeared in searches most frequently. The Texas Plinking review is ultimately what sold me on the DNT, but I was still curious about how the Goyojo compared.

So now I have the DNT for the 357 magnum lever action, and the Goyojo GRS225RF for the 22lr bolt action. So far the Goyojo is impressive. The packaging was nice, the shipping was fast, it was about the same price as the Hydra, it has a built in laser rangefinder, the app connects and works well to transfer pictures and videos, I like the image adjustability, and to my eye the image looks clearer than the Hydra.

I'll go to the range tomorrow to zero it and test it thoroughly to get it dialed in and be confident with it before I do any hunting with it, but so far it looks like a great, especially for the price. For my use case of hunting raccoons and groundhogs from about 75 yards or less, it looks like it will do just fine. I'd also like to test the battery life compared to the hydra. Maybe I'll do a more detailed comparison after using the two for a few more weeks.

DNT Hydra hs219 vs Goyojo GRS225RF

This is the same raccoon last night from about 27 yards according to the rangefinder on the Goyojo. Humidity was about 80%. I adjusted the image settings on both to get the clearest picture. The base magnification on the Goyojo is higher than the DNT. To me it looks like the DNT has more contrast but the Goyojo is clearer. I'm happy with both so far for their price of about 800 usd.

Another groundhog

They've been putting in overtime on tearing up the property recently. A sudden rain storm broke the extreme heat and soon after it stopped raining I got a notification from a trail cam that a groundhog detected. Hopefully I'll see the others soon. Gun is a smith and wesson 1854, ammo is 250 grain sub x 357 magnum handload, and optic is a dnt hydra hs219. Distance: about 15 yards.

First coyote

First coyote

I live on 16 acres of hay field with acess to over 500 acre of family land and I've been calling for two months with no luck. I wasn't hunting tonight, but taking my dog out, saw eyeshine and silhouette about 20 yards out, ran inside and grabbed my rifle, no tripod so its a bit shaky, 20" 5.56 AR with honady vmax 50 grain AGM Rattler V2 25-320.

Poked A Big Hole In Some Raccoons

Pest control within city limits requires putting the firearms away and grabbing high powered airguns. Used ATN THOR 4 384 1.25-5x on top of the Benjamin Bulldog .357cal airgun.

Startling Explosion

Taking a Starling at dusk with a .25cal AEA semi auto airgun shooting 25gr NSA slugs at 950fps. It was about 35 yards even though it's showing 25 yards as I didn't get another range. The thermal scope was the ATN THOR 4 384 1.25-5x with the ABL Laser Rangefinder add-on.

Rattler 35-384 v1 or a 25-320 v2?

Ive been looking at the 25-320 as my first thermal, but I've seen the higher resolution v1 for sale around the same price if not less. I'm wondering if the extra features of the V2 make up for the drop in resolution. Will be under 150 yards for a majority of shots.

Hammering dogs

By Request - Innocent(ish) Bystander

90 Yards - AGM Rattler V2 19-256 - .223 Controlled Chaos

When there’s 3 other guns all shooting on a countdown shit happens 🤣

Had a decent group of pigs in front of us and a random Raccoon panicked when we started our countdown and ran right in front of him. What are the odds?

Pulsar Merger 1280 Binos

Purchased my first 1280 optic. here in Texas it’s 98% humidity and it was still able to produce this clear of an image last night of this neighborhood deer. i’d say that’s pretty damn impressive
