I just got these for $120

A pair of thorogood with light use (it already has the right patina for me. And a pair of rocky hiking boots made in 2010 almost brand new.

What do you think? I feel good because i can use them for what they were designed for without feeling guilty about how expensive they are (in case they were danners).

Any hygiene tips for second hand shoes would be appreciated.

Should I get wider shoes?

Hey, been rocking these Thorogoods for 5 years now. More and more I wear them, I see that my pinkies are right above the stitching, and the leather from inside is getting more and more worn out. Should I get wider foot size? These are Ds, and I want to read your opinion.

New thorogoods

I just got these bad boys for work. Super comfortable out of the box. Thorogood 814-4188 tobacco color. The black sole is a huge plus for me, They don’t end up looking grimy after a while. Got them for $211 on sale. I couldnt pass them up.

Is this normal or are there fake Thorogood boots out there?

I recently Amazon ordered two pairs (a normal and a wide) of the same size, same boot: Thorogood American Heritage 8” steel toe. A 10.5 and a 10.5 wide.

My question is if these differences are normal manufacturing or are there actually Thorogood fakes out there?

One pair had no odor, the other hit my face with a chemical smell as soon as I opened the box.

-sole: one is significantly shiny, almost glossy and way less texture.
-side logo, slight differences in the wings and general depth of the stamp.
-moc toe, the perforations? Are almost doted on one and elongated on the other.
-tongue, one is noticeably thicker and the label is placed differently.

Thank you for your input.

6 Months In.

6 months of wear on the dot. First pair of Thorogoods. Previously I would buy/blow out a pair of doc martens each year. I really enjoy these so far and they look like they’re holding up nicely. In my opinion they feel like slippers. At first the tops of my feet were hurting but that went away. One month ago I replaced the insole with the Redwing orthotic #420 for flat feet and that really helped me too. My feet always hurt as soon as I get home from work. I wouldn’t say the boots hurt my feet, but I get pain once I take them off. I have found slippers/house shoes help. Anyone else have this issue? Any input appreciated, thanks in advance
