Is prebooking necessary?

For context, im an annual pass golder who bought my pass a few days ago. I simply cant work out prebooking and i think i put in the wrong email when i ordered. Just wanted to know, in case i cant work it out, could i get in tommorow without prebooking if i couldnt work it out?

Voucher perks..

I know the bring a friend vouchers are issued quarterly, and they’re now issued digitally.. even though I purchased my pass at the beginning of this month, will I receive one do I have to wait until September as I keep reading mixed things?
If I will receive one this month, where do I find it as I can’t find one anywhere? But again, when I research it says it’s because I’m at the back end of Merlin’s processing and it’ll be sent 7-14 days after purchase?

Thank you!x

Does anyone know what is up with Vortex and Quantum?

Im going to guess its in relation to a potential power issue due to the rides being in close proximity with one another.

Looking to go on Friday and hoping they can get them up and running soon especially with school trip season here as they do help to reduce que times.

With vortex and quantum down im also assuming this likely delays zodiac opening up anytime soon which is a shame as it was testing heavily back in may.

Does anyone know what has caused it? 😊

A few questions in one…

Question 1.. I was able to book 15th October through the passholder portal for fright nights.. I spoke to a human through Thorpe park live chat and they said I can use the 25% discount for friends ticket when they become available through the portal… when is this usually? Like when are they released?

Question 2. I purchased a platinum pass on Wednesday (July 1st) how long does it take roughly for the pass to arrive through the post, I know you get vouchers and things, but can you get these digitally? As when I research, it says you can but it isn’t available on my portal, is this because I’m still technically on a 14 day lock? Like how does it work? Ideally, I’d like to purchase my friends ticket as soon as they become available but if my physical pass arrives after these I’m scared I won’t be able to in time.. whereas if they do appear in my portal, it is one less worry.

Question 3. How does parking work with a Merlin pass? From what I know it’s free parking, but how does this work towards the end of the day with leaving? As when I booked the ticket on my portal for October, it didn’t ask for parking..

Sorry for all the questions, I’m a new passholder so trying to figure out how it all works.
Thank you!!

Security is great!!

Once again, I came a few days ago and was with my friends queuing up for stealth and these 4-5 girls behind us literally jumped over the fence. I reported it and within minutes again security came and interacted with the queue bandits and simply took them off 😹. Honestly they deserve more props, definitely going to write a review on them!

Took a really sketchy 35mm camera to the park last month and got one decent shot lol

First time trip, staying in shark cabins and fright night questions!

Me and a friend are both going to thorpe park on a weekend staying onside in the shark cabins, mid October during fright night!

This will be the first time at Thorpe Park for me since catching a bug for rollarcoasters after visiting Alton Towers for the first time in 10 years, earlier in June!

Now, I am expecting a fright night weekend to be busy but will it be doable to do all the thrill rides and a few of the family rides during our stay?

Can I expect to ride some of the rides multiple times?

I do want to do all the major rides but which family rides are worth doing and which rides in general are worth skipping if we don't have the time?

What can I expect going into a fight night? And what rides are best to prioritise as far as night rides go, for some added information my favourite ride at Alton Towers was Nemesis Reborn!

I also want to ask what the experience is like staying at the shark cabins, and what the best options are regarding food, are we betting off eating onsite whilst the park is open or driving to somewhere close by?

Any advice and information is appreciated!!

Glasses

It's been many years since I last went to Thorpe Park and since then my eyesight has got considerably worse (-4.5 and -6.5). I am planning on going soon, are my options to go on the rides blind, or contacts? Any thoughts which is better?

Whats the deal with the hundreds of hairbands on the rides?

I was at the park a few days ago and there were just hundreds of hairbands all at the end of the rides. I saw a ton them on swarm and nemesis. anyone know what this is about? There were schools doing their end of year trips so obviously it was them but like, why? i dont get why its a thing

Theme Park Footwear

Planning a trip to TP soon and with the nice weather I reallt don't wanna wear my trainers, I love water rides to cool down and my trainers take forever to dry even in nice weather. I bought a pair of DM Sandals last year and wore them to the theme parks in Florida when I went back in Oct. I don't see why I couldn't wear them on this upcoming trip to TP as they are buckled around my ankles so won't fall off and there is nothing in the Ts and Cs that say I can't but thought I'd ask here if anyone has had any issues wearing sandals like these to the park.

NB: They are the most comfortable sandals I have ever had so wearing them for long periods of time are not an issue.

Edit to add: Cannot attach a picture but I have the popular Doc Marten Blaire Sandals which are open toed but have a secure buckle around the ankle - personally I do them up to the second tightest hole

My X:\ No Way Hat

I’ve just posted this on Thorpe Park Memories on Facebook but thought it might be appreciated here too 😁 I must’ve bought this around 99/00! It’s been used by myself and both my kids, not sure how common it is but I love that a little piece of my childhood has been following me around for most of my life and survived multiple moves 🥲

Why can I not buy tickets for October?

I wanted to buy tickets for an early October weekend as I know they’re usually quiet but I can’t buy any tickets for it. Is it closed for October or are they just not available right now?

30.06.2026

What a day! Arrived at 9:35am, it was packed as soon as we got there! Stayed until 6pm… only managed to ride:
Swarm x2
Nemesis inferno front row x1
Hyperia: x2
Stealth x1
Colossus x1
Saw: the ride x1

The queues were insane with the highest wait time being 120 minutes. Stealth closed temporarily whilst in queue line, but we waited it out! Even a one shot fast track wasn’t worth it.. but overall a good day! Operations were good considering the capacity, the weather was amazing.. cannot wait to go back in September for an overnight stay🤪

Blue light card discount

My dad has a blue light card discount for Thorpe park but he doesn’t want to go. Are they going to check if the blue light card owner is there?
