Speculation on Walking Dead retheme

During my first visit of the year to Thorpe Park during annual passholder day, I noticed that there was only one piece of Walking Dead merch (a generic TWD t-shirt). During my last visit to the park this month, there was no Walking Dead merch left in the park. Considering this lack of purchasable goods definitely means that Walking Dead will close at some point this year for retheming, what do you think will be the new theme for the ride?

My ranking of Thorpe's Coasters as a on local (besides Walking Dead)

Edit: typo in the title, meant to say "as a non local"

  1. Hyperia
  2. Stealth
  3. Saw The ride (hot take I know)
  4. Nemesis Inferno
  5. Swarm
  6. Flying Fish
  7. Colossus (hot take again I think)

My reasoning for Saw being so high was because for me I didn't bang my head much (back far left) and even when I did it didn't hurt much and to me the layout and theming are great. And Colossus being in last place because I got what I heard was the worst row (farthest back), and it was way too rough to enjoy the layout, which I also think is weaker than Saw, and the trains were also too cramped and it was harder to brace for the headbanging. Swarm being lower than most is because since the 2 large wing coasters I've rode (excludng Mandrill) are Falcon and Parrot Coaster, it was a bit underwhelming for me and the last roll also gives less hangtime than all the other 3.

So I have an irrational fear of heights (falling) and rollercoasters.

I know this won’t be much to a lot of theme park regulars but since a child I have feared rollercoasters and still have a horrible fear of heights or falling, not quite sure which, on Thursday my wife stuck me on Oblivion and I was shitting myself but actually really enjoyed it.

We went to the late opening of Thorpe Park last night, howeverI chickened out of Swarm because of its first drop. I was so frustrated with myself that we went back this morning because I shouldn’t be setting a precedent to my daughter of irrational fears.

Anyway I’m rambling, for those that fear coasters, go on swarm, it’s buttery smooth, fun as hell and that first drop is nothing once you’re up there. It’s a great ride if you’re like me and fear something that you really shouldn’t to help retrain your brain.

Also as you can tell from the commentary my wife is oh so supportive!

Shark Cabins - Included Coaster Fast Track

I have an upcoming stay at the Hyperia Cabin and have just received an email with my admission, car pick tickets etc.

However, I have not been sent anything for the Coaster Fast Track (6 use) that is also advertised as being included with a themed cabin.

Is this something I pick up in person at check out?

I have contacted Thorpe Park to question this, but they say it could take 10 days to reply to me and my stay is in 9 days....

Scare actors

Hey, so I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask but I was wondering if anyone knew if applications for being a scare actor for fright night are open, and if so where I can apply? It's something I'm really interested in doing and I've scoured online, but I can't find anything except for stuff from years ago

First time on Hyperia

I’m going to Thorpe soon for the first time and I’m dead set on riding hyperia, but I’m still a little nervous. I’ve ridden everything at Alton Towers and loved it. My plan is to ride the swarm first, then saw before trying hyperia. My biggest issue with coasters is big drops, especially the feeling you get in your stomach. I purposefully rode Oblivion recently to try and get over that fear but it didn’t work well as it isn’t really a ride you get the stomach drop sensation on. I definitely don’t want to ride Stealth since launches freak me out so that’s out of the question. Considering the fact that I’ll probably only get on about three rides, is this a good plan or should I try something else?

EDIT: I literally just got off. Oh my god. First of all I’d like to say thank you to everyone who encouraged me to try this coaster. I ended up getting on immediately after the swarm. I got back row which freaked me out initially but WOW. That drop is no joke. I didn’t necessarily get the stomach drop, just very intense weightlessness and the feeling that I was going to fall out. It’s amazing, 10/10. Take this as a lesson to just get on the rollercoaster, even if you’re absolutely terrified. It’s so worth it.

The Swarm lost media???

I was messing about on the way back machine a while back and I came across The Swarm website from the promotion of the ride, however the only thing that works now are the home page and a loading screen that doesn't lead anywhere. I've listed the the stuff that doesn't work on the second picture, so I wa wondering if there's any trace of these webpages anywhere

(also sidenote, what happened to the hell graffiti on the billboard? it's still on the merch but it's not on the sign anymore)

Shark Cabin 2 day weekend stay for 40 something parents who haven't been to Thorpe park for 14 years

Hi all

Due to stay in the cabins over the weekend at end of september with the Mrs. Prior to 2013 we've both been annual pass holders and used to go a lot when weather was bad as it meant we got more rides in.

Seems to be a few new rides etc compared to the old days, but the question is how to best make the time work for us. ie we get 10-11am of fast pass on day 2 but not hyperia it seems.

We also got a dining package, so any tips on that as well appreciated.

Storing larger luggage

Hi I have a question. I am traveling with only a carry on/cabin sized trolley to London next month and I was wondering if I could store it somewhere outside or in the park. I really don’t want to go back to the city to my hotel to collect the luggage there as the park is already so close to the airport and it would be great if I could just leaf the hotel with luggage in the morning. Spend my day at the park with my luggage stored somewhere and then in the evening go to the airport to catch m flight. Does anybody here know if this is possible?

Platinum Fast Pass collection

So I am going to Thorpe park with one of my friends tomorrow, and we have both purchased the platinum fast pass. However I have some queries that I would like to be answered.

What do you need to show to collecting the wristbands at the Kiosk near nemesis inferno? Do I need the order number, the original payment method or what?

Do I have to collect the wristband or can I just sue my phones QR code?
