Three 5G BB Over Three weeks with no internet, Three (3) keeps lying about "engineers working on the mast." What is actually going on?

My Three internet has been down for over three weeks now. Every time I contact Three customer service, they tell me the exact same thing: there is a problem with mast in my area and "engineers are working hard to fix it."
Here is the thing—I live right next to the network mast. I can see it clearly from my window. I check it all the time, and absolutely no one has come to work on it this entire time.
Every single week, they promise it will be fixed by a specific day (e.g., "by Friday"). But when that day comes, they just push the date back another few days. This loop has been going on for more than three weeks.
They have credited my account with some compensation and have now given me the option to cancel my contract and leave with no early termination fee.
The problem is, I don’t want to leave; I just need my internet to work.
What is actually going on behind the scenes when a network provider does this? Why are they lying about engineers being on-site? Has anyone else dealt with this with Three?

Awful service after Vodafone aq

Anyone with this problem??

I have 5g home internet, used to have 300 to 400mbps of internet.

Now I have to restart my router several times a day due to traffic shaping.

Today average has been 100mbps. Problem is I can’t contact support, they always say there’s a problem in the area to bail them out.

Any advice?

I 'stole' Three's 5G Router

-I didn't !!! THEY failed to send me a bag/box or whatever to put it in for return at the end of my contract (actually a month or so after I cancelled, outside of my Min. 24 month contract period) and didn't send details of his to get a courier to collect it as they'd promised to...

You can probably find my previous posts, made in quite a worried state having spent considerable time & effort trying to contact them after I received 'threats' from them, then their 'debt recovery associates' -who I sent more than one message threatening legal action against if they continued contacting me with their baseless allegations and threats, which they ignored.

Anyways, just thought I'd pop along to say that after ~6 months in total, since I terminated, they appear to have ceased 'chasing me'.

To anyone else who they fail to send required packaging materials & courier details to, I suggest you (as I did) send them a polite reminder and ultimatum, ignore them or their agents calls / texts, and get on with your life.

The stress they caused me was unwarranted, TBH I should have pursued them, as I threatened to, for the facial treatment I received due to THEIR administrative errors.

Three, if you're reading, get in touch to recover YOUR equipment (which I wanted to return) and to organise appropriate recompense for the stress you've caused me -all carefully documented 🖕

-Do three people ever post here ? I bet I don't get a response as I never did previously.

Upgrade wasn't an upgrade at all, potential scam, now phoneless with bad credit!

My current phone with 3 broke, and so I logged in to My3 to see if I was due an upgrade. There was a link that literally said 'It's time for you to upgrade' so I clicked on it, followed the link, picked the new handset and waited 2 days.

When the new handset arrived I logged into my 3 account and saw that they had literally not upgraded me but just issued a new contract parallel to my existing one. So, I start speaking to the chat person who tells me to come back tomorrow? Start another conversation with someone who agrees to cancel the new contract but also has to cancel the new phone, then agrees to upgrade me to the new phone I want, then goes back on that and says he wont do that.

Then, I speak to antoehr worker who multiple times tries to get me to keep both contracts before finally agreeing to cancel the new one and let me send the phone back - after this I discover my phone is now also cut off.

Log back in and speak to yet another worker, who informs me I need to be posted a new sim which he will do. 10 minutes later he tells me my credit score has dropped too low to issue me a new sim and I will have to go the store IRL with an ID! Here I am with less than when I started! Shambolic service!

Capped speeds on Three

I don’t know why but the idea of capped speeds really frustrate me, charging customers more for uncapped. And now it seems Three has started to introduce it.

Am I the only one?

Glitchy Website Lost Me as Customer!

Tried to buy a broadband package from the Three website; but the site got into a doom loop when I gave my postcode & house number. It just wasn't having it. After half a dozen tries I gave up and will now go to their competitors instead.

The joys of Three broadband at home. 1/?

I guess the question is "what the heck is going on?" - now that we can't ask on the forums.

Download is mediocre - well, bad really.

Upload is all over the place.

My router has a speedtest built in, so it runs it natively on the device so there's nothing to interfere with it. I grab the stats via a python script and feed them to influxdb2 where they're taken and prettified by grafana.

Iphone physical to esim transfer

is it possible to transfer a physical Sim from one iPhone to an eSIM on another iPhone? If they are placed next to each other? I read on the Three website that it’s possible to do this as long as they are both iOS 17 or higher I think just wanted to see if anyone else had done this and been successful thank you.

The worst broadband company ?

I’ve recently moved back into my parents who use three WiFi. The last 4 weeks every weekend we’ve had no WiFi. When I check network status it says “maintenance in your area”. However, no matter what post code I put into the network status checker it comes up with “maintenance in your area” it doesn’t matter if it’s up north, down south left or right. It’s clearly just an auto message response and a blatant lie. Everytime we call up they are “sorry but maintenance is being carried out” they say it’ll be back up and running later. It never comes. Then the next day it’s still off.

The whole thing must be a scam. How can they get away with not providing WiFi to you when we pay each month for the service? I’ve never had issues with any other provider. And apparently it’s gonna cost £250 to leave the contract.

So don’t give us the service we’re paying for and then make us pay £250 to leave ? Absolute joke. How are they aloud to do this?

Is there anyway we can get out of this god awful contract without paying the astronomical charge?

the tedium of three customer service.

Started a live chat. Had to get through the AI flowchart before getting to an actual agent. I already provided name, surname, phone number, a OTP sent to my phone.

Talk to agent: "are you asking about number ending xxxx?", "what is your name so I can assist you further?" (YOU HAVE THIS)

In the past, as well: chat randomly disconnects at their end. Have to try again another time and repeat the same spiel. Even say; "please contact me by email to follow up as last time I got disconnected" nope, nothing.

On top of this, the three service in the city centre is absolutely abysmal, to the point you can't use maps for navigation or download a qr code for ticketing entry or whatever.

ARGH

EDIT: the three website just logged me out randomly, whilst I twas waiting for an agent to reply. I had to go through the same steps AGAIN to speak to someone. WTF

Porting my Three UK number to VoIP while living in Portugal – Advice needed!

Hi everyone,

New to the sub and looking for some technical advice.

I’m currently working from Portugal and I’ve been using my Three UK mobile number for daily work calls to the UK. As expected, Three just sent me a warning that they will suspend my roaming services on the 17th due to their Fair Usage Policy.

I need to keep this exact number for professional reasons, and I’m considering porting it to a VoIP provider so I can stop worrying about roaming rules and just use it via an app on my phone (using my local Portuguese data/Wi-Fi).

I have a few specific questions:

  1. Reliability: For those who have ported a UK mobile number to a VoIP service (like Zadarma, Virtual Landline, or VoIPfone), how is the call quality for daily professional use?
  2. SMS: My biggest concern is 2FA/Bank codes. Which VoIP providers actually support receiving automated SMS/OTP from UK banks?
  3. Alternative: Is there a better "virtual" eSIM or service that allows permanent overseas use without the 60-day limit?

I have a stable fiber connection at home and a local SIM for mobile data, so I'm just looking for the most stable way

Constant network drop in City of London

For the last couple of months I am experiencing terrible service on my phone when at work. Nearest location is Moorgate station. I keep getting the satellite icon or jut zero bars. Put the phone in airplane mode, switch services back in and it reconnects to the network. Then a few minutes later it drops again.

Any idea of how to get this sorted as I may need to switch to another network if this continues.

Turning off VoLTE, removes signal completely?

As in the title, I've been struggling with signal at home (apparently with "excellent signal and coverage"), so I started fiddling with settings, and to my surprise, when normally turning off VoLTE helps a little (I literally have 5KB/s download, with three bars of signal) in my case, it shut down access to internet completely. Am I doing something wrong, or is this network absolutely useless?
