Nicole Kidman AMC Nutcracker

This project allowed me to mix several loves of mine: nutcrackers, going to the movies, making miniature things, and just general arts and crafts. Nicole’s suit is made from upholstery repair tape and multiple yards of rhinestone chain. Her popcorn and drink cups are mixed media, (including air dry clay for each individual kernel of popcorn), and the tickets are shrinky dinks. Bringing it all together was a bunch of glue, glue, glue, and a complete rewatch of Mad Men.

Hi, stayed at a lake house in Michigan over the weekend. Got bit quite a bit by mosquitos but there's a much greater concentration around my lower legs/feet. Curious if this is a different type of bite but it itches like hell.

Revisiting old episodes and it's funny to hear some foreshadowing for future stories

Like in "She Just Want Beets" Lauren mentions she's going to stay in a LOTR-themed AirBnB and she's pretty excited about it. And then it comes up quite long later that the AirBnB was a shit hole and the owner was kinda shady.

Missing Threedom

Hiatus! I don’t mind a Threevisiting on the Tues. Reliving old thrighlights?! Ah, chef’s kiss.

I will admit to feeling a bit of resentment to the latest string of 2016 live shows being parceled out to us lowly pisspigs, only because the quality can vary. And of course! It’s live! I’ve still listened to each and every one, but I can’t say I look forward to them in the same way.

Now, Live in Vancouver with Dan Mangan? She floored me. I grinned, I leaned into uncomfortable pauses, I giggled at our inside jokes. I had spent a tour with them Threedom Boys and come out the other side with eyes wide open. “I Will” in the middle of the episode had me grinning from ear to ear. Dan and John Lennon were having the MOST fun and performing with a contagious joy. The playfulness of the entire episode is divine.

Someday the Threedom gang may cease to be. I am quite grateful that so many of the moments they’ve made are in recorded form.

Remind me to never buy Marie Callendar's again.

I'm working out of town again (see earlier post from a couple months ago) and staying at the cabin.

Don't feel much like cleaning a ton of cast iron every night (all pots and pans up here are cast iron), so I bring frozen meals with me - tonight's disappointment is beef and broccoli, but it's basically a quarter serving of meat and vegetables on two cups of rice.

It doesn't really taste bad, but I'd have to eat like three of these to put down the veggie and protein content I need to fuel up for work, and I'm kicking myself for not prepping/freezing venison spaghetti like I meant to do.

Marie? Never again lol.

Last night's disappointment was their "Beef pot roast," which contained roughly six tiny chunks of mystery beef, the saddest celery I've ever seen, some shredded carrot, and a few potatoes swimming in like two cups of thin broth

Thank the stars the boss's ma cooks like she's trying to put us all in a coma for lunch every day, 'cause Marie got me over here matching my flair IRL 😅

Going home for a short visit tomorrow night and I swear I'ma prep that damn spaghetti lol

Why do they take breaks

I don't mean taking time off. I mean going to break during the episodes. Why does Scott insist they take a break every twenty minutes or so?

RIP Clara Peller, original piss pig, on this day 39 years ago

Today is my 39th birthday. I was talking on the phone with my mother and we were talking about the day I was born and she wasn’t sure what day of the week I was born on.

I googled August 11, 1987, only to find that’s the exact day that Clara Peller, our beloved piss pig, died.

There’s no circumstances on earth that I’ll ever say the words “piss pig” to my mother, so I just said that there’s a podcast where they joke about Clara Peller being a fan.

(Also did my birth cause Clara Peller’s death?? We’ll never know.)

What part of Widows Bay do you think Paul was talking about?

I’ve finally watched Widows Bay and I remember Paul in the last episode before the break saying he wanted Scott to let him know when he’s seen a certain part of Widows Bay episode 3. After finishing the episode I assumed it was >!the recliner scene!< (I listened back and it was Scott who said episode 3 and Paul said episode 4)

Now I’m wondering which part in Episode 4 of Widows Bay was Paul excited for Scott to see?
