Trying to figure out what the point of this brand is now

Are there other city dwellers out there who were drawn to Thuma for the easy assembly and good quality, but now find themselves priced out?

I bought a bed a few years ago - the price was reasonable, and the quality was good. I still like my bed (and like how easy it is to transport as a frequent mover), but these prices are just *so* high now, I can’t justify the purchase.

Just a little frustrated by it - I had hoped to add to my current pieces, and want something a little better quality than Ikea.

Where else are people turning to add on to their current items, but at a slightly more reasonable price point?

Thuma old screws (2022) vs new (2026)

Bought a Queen sized Thuma in 2022. Adored it. Doesnt squeak at all even with a heavy purple mattress. I moved a couple times and lost the original screws so I ordered some new ones last week, they only had white.

Well, I found the original screws shortly after receiving the new ones (just my luck lol) and I noticed how much shorter the new ones are!! Found it weird how much they changed especially after hearing all the complaints of people receiving creaky beds.

$2600 for a bed that creaks and customer service that ghosts you certainly is something.

Posting this because apparently Thuma's website isn't allowing new reviews.

I bought a Thuma bed with pillowboard years ago. It was amazing, quiet, and sturdy. I eventually sold it to upgrade to a Cali king, and this time, went with the version with headboard/padding.

The bed creaks every single time I get on and off it - both the joints and the slats. This is after multiple reassemblies per the instructions, and adding felt padding to the joints and contact points for the slats. I contacted customer service, got what looks like it was an automatic AI response, and have since been ghosted for 12 days.

From the response on this subreddit, it seems like my experience isn't too common, but it's worth knowing that it is well within the realm of possibility when you're spending up to $2600 on this product.

I am trying to sell my queen-sized bed frame and mattress for $500. I happen to live in Florida and hope that any residents are willing to come up and pick it up after payment. If interested, comment or dm me.

Oak nightstand dupes?

Hello, we just purchased the oak thuma bed after reading reviews raving about the quality. So we chose to splurge on the bed but now looking for a dupe in color and style to match the “oak” color. Does anyone have any recommendations? I think the oak is a newer color so I couldn’t find much in my search. Thanks

Super low clearance alternative?

Are there alternatives to thuma that have like super low clearance, I'm talking kike 2-3 inches or less? Basically just enough space for the ground for air flow under the frame and mattress? I'm short, my wife is short and we want a short bed.

Thuma with Headboard & Pillow or Pillowboard only

Looking to buy two twin beds with either pillowboard only or headboard with pillow. Have been seeing mixed reviews about the headboard being wobbly so for the price difference considering pillowboard only. Does anyone have opinions on pillowboard only? It's for my 12 & 14 year old.

First Thuma bed

Spent time reading reviews and other posts. I was going to originally do a classic or essential bed with wooden headboard but after seeing the wobbly headboard reviews I'm debating just skipping the headboard entirely to eliminate the risk of possibly getting stuck with a a wobbly headboard.
Is the headboard wobble more common on the classic than the essential ? Or is it happening in both models ? Thanks !

How much did you pay?

How much did y’all pay when you found a bed on offer up? I want to buy one soon but the price tag is stopping me. I found a couple that were half the price on OfferUp. Is that a good deal?

Appalling Customer Service

Customer service seemed useful at first and helped me apply a coupon, but have ghosted me regarding compensation for a cosmetic defect it came with.

It seems they may not be as premium as they once were if you see a good deal on the clones just get them. Ive sent emails every 3 days i didn’t get a response even though they said someone will look at it. After the first contact i haven’t received any info in 2.5 weeks.
