I know 3 Round Groups are lame, but let me have this one.

I’ve been trying to get this 130gr TTSX so go from good to great out of my 20” T3X Lite, and today I was playing around with bullet jump; and found my groups closed up dramatically at 0.075”

Some random pictures of my favorite rifle

I built this rifle initially in 2019, it’s an 18” 308 and it’s been a blast. The glass has changed a few times, same with the tripod. I use it for a little bit of long range shooting here and there but mainly use it as a heavy hunting rifle that spends most of its time just sitting on a tripod in a window/s of my house over looking the fields around the property. In the 7 years I’ve had it, Ive shot some nice big bodied whitetail bucks with it and probably 8-10coyotes a year as they come along (they like my chickens). Weighs 14lbs even, unloaded.

I have a T3x Lite in .308, barrel cut to 12.5 and suppressed, looking for a stock

Looking for a new stock for my T3x lite. I’m looking for collapsible/folding preferably to reduce oal, and to allow my gun to take aics or other magazines than the straight tikka mags.

I saw sharps bros makes one but I think it will be too long for my barrel length.

Aim small miss small.

Off hand Frontal shots on foxes give no room for errors. This .223 with 77TMKs is a Lazer gun.

Tikka 300 blackout build?

I have an extra MDT timbr frontier chassis I can’t seem to sell. I like the chassis so I figure I might as well build another rifle to put into it. Ive been thinking about buying a 350 legend donor action off euro optic and then a 300 blackout prefit.

anyone done something like this? the chassis requires AICS mags too. Not really familiar with how that might feed in 300 blackout.

Am I trying too hard? Should I just buy a Ruger American? probably five or $600 cheaper for the same function…

Recoil pad for Tikka Arctic

I need some help matching a recoil pad to the Tikka Arctic.

The internet pointed me towards the Limbsaver 10826 as the go to for tikkas, but it was too small for the orange laminated stock of the Arctic.

Can anyone point me in a good direction for finding one that will fit?

I was feeling pretty good about my group…

Really pleased, second time out with the new rifle, sub 1/2 MOA(1st pic)…and then I gave my GF a turn. This was her first time shooting a bolt action and her second 3 shot group(2nd pic). .172 MOA. FML.

ETA:
Yes, I agree with everyone, 5 shot groups are more meaningful. I was still running a modified break-in and cleaning after each 3 shots. Debated topic, I know, but figured it was easy enough to do on the front end of the barrel life.

FWIW, every 3 round group was sub 1/2 MOA, except her first(ever), which was still inside 1 MOA.

T3X CTR 6.5 CM, 20” barrel with TBAC SR muzzle brake.

Ammo: Hornady Black 140 grain. $32/box, cheapest ammo on the shelf at Academy. Originally got it just to put some rounds through the barrel, but the rifle loved it.

Tell me about magazines

Ok, so it's pretty difficult to get all of the details here without handling part and seeing what actually fits, so please fill me in.

I am looking at getting a 7mm PRC T3x Ace. I would prefer the Target but I take it there isn't one sort-of because of the magazine situation.

So the T3x "supports" short and long cartridges in the same receiver but with a lot of money sunk into magnum bolts etc. coming from a T3x Ace Target in .308 or 6.5cm or whatever.

Getting to the ask here, my understanding of the action length/magazine situation is that the T3x CTR/etc magazines and the available AICS bottom metal DO NOT support long action cartridges, which is basically why the CTR/etc-mag-configured Ace Target only comes in short calibres—is that correct? Any other ways around this without shelling out for a third-party chassis? I would totally take a long-action AICS magwell if that's possible without paying half as much again on top of the base rifle.

Looking for t3x lite .223 in NorCal

Looking for a Tikka T3x Lite .223. Either compact or standard with 20” 1:8 twist barrel. I checked with half a dozen lgs in the Redding area today. All of them are unable to get the rifle from distributors. Please let me know if anyone has one in stock within a reasonable distance. My 11 y/o son drew an Idaho antelope tag so this will be for him. I’d love the 6 CM but it sounds like it will be a bit until Tikka has the base models out for sale. Thank you

Stutzen mini-chassis

Showing off my work in progress stutzen style forend for my 7mm-08 AI tikka. I bought a fullstock Steyr SM12 in april and it arrived with a cracked stock. EuroOp. took it back but it broke my heart having to give up the very pretty wood. I decided to build another tikka with a full length mannlicher-style stutzen stock to scratch that itch instead.

It has gone surprisingly well so far, only a few mistakes where I removed a little too much wood. I'm planning on making a Gewehr 1891 muzzle block for the front sight, but it won't touch the forend so it'll still be free floating. I'll eventually buy another blank for the buttstock, but I don't feel motivated to start that project anytime soon.

Claro walnut with tung oil finish. The barrel is a 19" 5R from PBB and it shoots 140gr e-tips like a laser. CTR inlet with the MT beretta branded bottom metal.

What’s your ideal build?

I finally assembled my ideal rifle after my Manners Long Range Hunter stock and mountain tactical bottom metal arrived and I’m excited about it. Going to go re-zero it this week with the new parts.

Got any builds you like in the works?

Where are the Ace Targets

I’ve been looking at a midnight bronze Ace Target in 6.5 Creedmoor since May have haven’t found one yet.

Anyone know why there’s a shortage? I signed up with EuroOptic and nothing.

Buying my first hunting rifle. Looking at Tikka T3X Lite .308 and a decent scope. Need a scope suggestion.

I live in North Carolina and I want to get into hunting. I will start with deer and see how it goes from there. I’m buying my first hunting rifle. I’m heavily leaning towards Tikka T3X Lite.308. This is pretty much decided basin multiple conversations with hunting friends and tons of research online (unless you guys will come up with anything else worth looking at).

The scope situation is a bit more confusing. A lot of people say I should be fine with 3-9 x 40, or maybe be stretched to 4-12x45. But some also say that I need more magnification, like 5-15 or even more.

My initial budget for a scope was around $350, but I also wanna buy something that I will keep for a long time and I don’t want to have buyers remorse.

What do you guys think?
