The legend of the place states that devotees who visit this divine place will be freed from debt, gain mental peace, and experience spiritual happiness. The legendary glory of the place
According to the Puranas, it is believed that when Lord Vishnu incarnated as Srinivasa on earth and lived in Tirumala, he borrowed money from Kubera for a wedding ceremony. The Sthal Purana states that the responsibility of counting that money was entrusted to Sri Govindaraja Swamy, the elder brother of Srinivasa. Devotees believe that the divine form in which the Swamy, tired of counting the money, lay down on Adisesha is the darshan of Sri Govindaraja Swamy today.
Divine vision in the sanctum sanctorum
The Lord, reclining on the Adisesha, appears in the sanctum sanctorum with divine radiance, bringing peace to the hearts of the devotees. The sight of Lord Brahma emerging from the navel of the Lord, with the goddesses Sridevi and Bhudevi at his feet, and the demons Madhu and Kaitabha performing penance for salvation, immerses the devotees in a state of devotion.
