New Stakeout 38super/9mm observations

Picked one up today from my FFL. Purchased from Grabagun.com for $535.
Gun came with a Tisas window Sticker, keychain, and nice black cleaning cloth with the Tisas logo.
I have seen multiple videos on Youtube where the nickel finish had some permanent marring on the frame below the ejection port from the nylon bristle cleaning brush rubbing against it during shipping and storage. I am glad they now include the cloth, as it protected it from the bristles (wonder if thats why the cloth is there now).
Has the new Tisas logo, which I am not opposed to, seen uglier logos on higher priced 1911s. I do like that they now put the serial number and Turkey info on the dust cover in real small font.
The fit and finish is perfect!!! I cannot wait till the weekend to get her to the range!!

Cheesas / Teely..

Anyone else done this?

Planning on this being a USPSA LO gun on a budget.

But hoping to kick some butt with it.

Only issues are front grip bushing hole needs a tiny filing and the hammer is stopping the side going back with the cheely grip safety.

Planning on taking the tip of the hammer off, rather than the back of the spur..

Any feedback from anyone that has done this?

I figure the tisas hammer was going to be way cheaper than messing with the Cheely.

Thoughts?

Bronze Big Mac Mac9 and Capital Rifle Updates

Bronze is so simple and clean but just hits so hard!

We are going to open Big Mac orders on Friday night again. We only have 9 pieces left. The MAC 9 is sold out from distribution and obviously there are no more coming. We dont yet have an ETA on the Tisas 9 DS Comps. In the meantime we are working on the Romulus and will have a similar package coming shortly. There is a ton of potential here and the performance increase is just as outstanding as the Mac. Its also going to shoot way better than it should for the money so stand by for more on that one.

1911A1 ASF 9mm Mag Issue

Running into something that I’m not sure is normal or not:

I fully loaded a factory mag, chambered a round, and dropped the mag to top it off. Upon dropping the mag, I noticed that a round from the magazine came out with it and the existing top round in the mag was partially pushed forward. The round in the chamber remained chambered. This happened with the 2nd factory mag as well.

Is it normal for the round to follow the mag out like this? It’s a 9mm (yes, I know, I did a bad thing by not getting the .45, but I have thousands of 9mm rounds and ammo ain’t cheap with a wife and 2 kids) so I know that’s probably causing some of the issue. The factory mags have a rear spacer, which I’ve read also may not be helping.

I have not fired this thing yet, just got it yesterday, so idk if it’s going to cause a cycling issue. This is pretty much going to be a fun gun, so it doesn’t have to be the most reliable thing ever, but if there’s something I can do to mitigate the issue, I’d like to do it. I’ve read that getting better mags (Wilson or Tripp is what I’ve read/heard is best) may or may not help.

Anyone have a fix or similar experience? Thanks in advance.

PX-9 Duty

Ive held many guns in my life but this is a game changer for the price and performance. Other than my p320, this is another valid entry level firearm that i would highly recommend to people who are looking into getting any tisas.

PX-9 Carry Comp

New addition to the collection. Nice little gun with a very nice trigger. I would like to find a magwell for it, purchased a grip and magwell kit from SDS but didn’t fit the little gun. Anybody have any idea where to get one?

DSC Gunworks Island Barrel build

DSC did an island barrel job with other customizations.

  1. Install and fit the ported Island barrel. Add Copper PVD finish to the barrel.

  2. Tan multicam on the slide, frame, and magwell.

  3. Finish other visible metal components with copper PVD.

  4. Install red dirt trigger shoe and do Copper finish.

  5. DPO optic job to mount Defender XL.

The MJD grip was already on my Tisas B9R Gen 2 before sending off.. There was already an EGW ignition kit upgrade as well. I shot the Tisas pistol for 8000 rounds before sending it out for custom work.

Two of my favorites - Questions, Roasts, and Complements Welcome!

PX9 Duty threaded with TLR1HL, Gowutar A20, and a generic universal comp + 9DS Carry Gen 1 with TLR7X and Sightmark Minishot A-Spec M3. I'd put these two up against some of the top brands in the game! Ok maybe not completely but y'all get the picture - good is good at any price.

TISAS SS45R Carry

Well it finally happened after about 700 rounds the gun decided to run away on me lol. I was aware that this gun may break after seen previous posts it was just a matter of when it would snap. I'm safe and I'll be reaching out to Tisas regarding this matter. If you have this model be cautious.

Would I be able to mount a rmrcc to my optic ready raider?

I’m building up a m45a1 clone and have lots of para coming in. I do not want to put on an eps as it just would not look right. I see that Trijicon has an adapter plate for rmsc to rmrcc. Do any of yall know if it would work? Thanks for the help in advance.

Tisas Raider trigger.

Picked up a Tisas Raider on sale for 440. Saw it in store and felt like it was too good to pass up. Anyway has anyone run these and if so have you guys found a short trigger that works in this? The stock trigger is just a bit long and before I go shaving it down with a dremmel I figured id see if their was a less Neanderthal way to go about it.

Tisas Raider build*

Tisas Raider .45 ACP. Shout-out to the person who told me Aluma-Hyde II in Magpul FDE was a color match - it is!

*The build (not just a flashlight and optic):

Pachmayr wrap around grip.

Tisas arched mainspring housing painted to match, drop in fit.

Ed Brown extended magazine release, stainless steel, painted to match.

Harbor Freight WML Gen 2? (no silver stripe but not knurled or ribbed) painted to match. Upgraded with Emissary Development paddle shifter.

Wolff spring kit part #GM-453

I need to hit the mainspring housing with another coat of Aluma-Hyde. I baked it and let it cure so hopefully no durability issues but using a can after the first time is a PIA. I was delayed waiting for replacement spray nozzles to come back in stock.

With the Pachmayrs installed the safety feels a bit undersized. I might revisit the safety.

I haven't done a full spring kit in any of my Tisas' yet. Holy cow the difference between the factory plunger tube spring and the Wolff replacement! The trigger on the pistol was ~awesome~ out of the box. I was hesitant to swap the sear spring. The factory sear spring is much thinner compared to a Wolff or an Ed Brown so I swapped and tuned it and got it pretty close to the original feel.

I was interested in MUESOC vibes when I stumbled on a deal on the Raider. I guess I'll have to make-due with 1945A1 vibes, lol

PX-9 custom grips arrived

Ordered two pairs of custom grips from Lone Star Grips, I prefer the slim profile as the one with the star is a bit awkward on your finger tips.
