Traveling to Morocco for 2 weeks from Dec to Jan!

Hi! My sibling and I will be traveling to Morocco for two weeks and I have some questions, feel free to give tips and advice also.

Casablanca (2 Nights)
Marrakesh (4 Nights)
3-Day Sahara Tour (2 Nights)
Essaouira (3 Nights)
Casablanca (1 Night) - Departure

We will be flying in and out of Casablanca thus going back there.

In terms of city to city transfer, we were thinking of riding the train from Casablanca to Marrakesh and the Supratour bus from Marrakesh to Essaouira and back. Is the bus guaranteed and easy to ride, or is it usually fully booked?

As for Essaouira to Casablanca, do you advice just going back to Marrakech to ride the train to Casablanca or are there direct routes for buses from Essaouira to Casablanca?

We are also unsure about transportation from the airport and bus/train stations. Aside from taxis, are Indrive and Uber are working well there?

And for the Sahara tour, which is a group package from Getyourguide, they'll manage our luggages and let us bring them right? Since we won't have another place to leave them in.

Let me know please. If you have any other advice it would be much appreciated!

the best morocco tour companies usually aren't the ones with the fanciest website

been seeing a lot of people ask about the best morocco tour companies and tbh i'd look at the itinerary before i look at the branding.

some companies will happily sell you marrakech + fes + chefchaouen + merzouga + essaouira in 7 days.

sounds amazing until you realise most of your holiday is sitting in a car.

ask for the real driving times.

ask for the actual hotel names too. not "luxury riad" or "premium desert camp". actual names.

same with guides, meals, entrance fees, transfers, vehicle etc.

and shopping stops. big one.

if your itinerary somehow includes rugs, argan oil, leather, spices and 3 cooperatives in two days, that probably isn't an accident lol

i've been working in tourism in Morocco for around 15 years, first as a driver and guide, and eventually i started my own company, MOROCCO TRAVEL EXPERTS.

so yeah, obvious disclosure, it's my company.

one of the main reasons i started it was because i kept seeing the same thing over and over. people being sold itineraries that looked great in a PDF but made zero sense on the road.

too many cities. too much driving. no time to actually enjoy anything.

especially families.

a trip with two adults is not the same as travelling with a 4 year old, teenagers, grandparents etc.

sometimes people send me an itinerary and the best advice i can give them is literally "remove two places."

probably not great sales technique lol, but i'd rather do that than pretend 8 hours in a van is a cultural experience.

whether you book with us or someone else, get everything in writing before paying.

hotel names
vehicle
guides
meals
entrance fees
what's included
what isn't

and if a company refuses to tell you the hotels or keeps giving vague answers, i'd move on.

there are some very good Morocco tour companies.

just don't choose one because their website has 400 camel photos and the word "luxury" everywhere.
