Hi all! I recently moved to Canada and I've been struggling with making connections. My dream is to have a friend group here someday so we can go to events and plan fun activities together. I miss my community back home and I'm trying to build a new one now that I'm here. Hii i live in markham 19M i just want a friend who had knowledge of trading forex /futures .....im personally studying trading for 3years now. .

now that the sunny days are back, i am out of my usual hermit state and had been looking forward to doing small activities in the city! i am currently on my watching movies hyperfixation, and not every one of my friends or my partner are always available to watch movies in the theatre with me. if you're around the west-end or downtown, i am available on most weekends or some friday evenings to watch :--))

i love trying out diff and new restaurants of all sorts (not a picky eater btw), and local events/markets #supportlocal that don't charge for an arm and a leg in this economy! lol

aside from those, i also enjoy going to concerts that range from alternative, metal, indie, and a few r&b artists. also down to watch orchestras and similar stuff like musicals, theatric plays, etc! if i am not out and about, i sometimes play video games (not as much as i used to in my early 20s), some board games, watching anime, reading, baking, and i have been trying to get back into doing my creative hobbies again like sketching, painting, and sewing. i would be lying if i say i don't doomscroll, because i do lol. i do like having conversations and yap sessions if that is something you like to do. i do prefer 1on1s or smaller friend groups bec im kinda shy :')

I know making friends is hard enough, and it's even harder trying to find people on Reddit who actually live near you.

I like building things, so I put together a simple little map app right here on the platform to make it easier to find each other locally. You basically just set up a quick anonymous profile: just an alias, your age and gender, your MBTI if you know it, and your location (nearest city).

To help support this community, I also added a feature where you can paste the link to your intro post from this subreddit directly into your map profile. That way, when locals find you on the map, they can click to read your full bio here before sending a DM!

I have a lot of friends from all over GTA, and have made some fantastic friends and cafe hopping squads and numerous kinds of great communities from Reddit and events but...

I find a lack of neighbours still

People nearby, especially living alone, that can be more spontaneous company and support group because we're so close, whether it's work at a cafe, grab dinner or drinks, check out an event nearby, do a potluck or Netflix night, read at a bookstore, hit the gym, even do a grocery run and chat, or just need an extra hand with something at home etc, without making a big coordinated arrangement of an event! (Obviously nothing at homes till we know each other well)

I just recently found out about dumpster diving and honestly I’m shocked at how much perfectly good stuff gets thrown away. it’s pretty horrible seeing how wasteful things have become.

I’m a 35 year old guy living in the Mount Dennis area of Toronto. I do drive, so getting around the city or surrounding areas isn’t a problem. I’m also 6’4” and physically fit so handling heavier items or loading things up is no issue.

Mainly looking for someone experienced or even another beginner who wants to check out spots together, split finds and stay safe while doing it. I don’t smoke, drink or do any drugs and hoping to find a positive person to join me.

I just moved to the city (near Humber Bay park ) and I'm training for a triathlon. I'm not great at running, it's hard to self motivate because I don't love it. It would be nice to have someone to run with every now and then. If you're interested, let me know!
