toronto pride parade

anyone else think it was a bit strange that the team didn’t have a pride parade entry again this year? frost did, sirens did, torrent did, etc. sceptres did in 2024 but that was it. tempo was there though!

How we feeling about our offense 💀

The leagues lowest scoring team just lost 65% of their goal scoring 💀

But on the bright sides 😭:

• our D core is mostly intact & we kept our starting G- a strength of last year’s team

• Rattray put up 4 goals and 8 assists last year which would’ve put her in our top 4 - an exciting get & a potential boon to our leadership

• big draft win with Simms!

As long as Kali Flanagan plays game 1...

She will be the only Ironwoman on the team, the only player to play every Scepters game.

Now that Maltais, Compher, Connors are gone and Turnbull is going to miss the season.

So, um...other than Simms and Rattray, who the heck is playing in our top 6?

Firstly congratulations to Captain Blayre - what wonderful news and as someone who was recently pregnant, what an incredible feat to play professional sports in your first trimester.

But I am severely, severely worried about this team.

Of signed forwards (six of them!), who the heck is playing in our top 6?

Line 1:

Centre: Simms

Wingers: ?!

Line 2:

Centre: ?!

Wingers: Rattray and !?

We are missing at least 3 top 6 forwards assuming perhaps Dalton, or maybe the 2nd round draft signing Nelson goes on one of the lines. This is bananas to me. Even if the players given qualifying offers sign, Zanon is the only one that you might even try in the top 6...maybe. Spooner should not be in the top 6 anymore - she should be at most on line 3 and used tactically on PP1.

How can this possibly get to a point where it's ok?
