Should I move back to Toronto? Or have I outgrown it?

I’m a 32M who moved back in with my parents about a year ago to save money and finish school. It’s honestly been a good decision financially, but it’s definitely come with some sacrifices.
I lived in Toronto for about 9 years and own a condo downtown. My school is also in Toronto, so even though I moved home, a big part of my life is still tied to the city.
My tenants recently moved out, and now my condo is sitting vacant while I try to decide what I want to do. I only have one more semester of school left, so part of me thinks I should just stay home another year, keep saving money, finish school, and then figure out my next move.
But another part of me really misses having a life in the city.
After being away for a year, I feel pretty disconnected from Toronto. A lot of my friendships and connections have faded, and I miss having people around, being able to spontaneously go out, meet new people, walk somewhere for dinner or drinks, go to events, etc. I’d really like to rebuild a social life and feel connected to the city again.
At the same time, some days I genuinely don’t miss Toronto at all. I love being at my parents’ house, having more space, saving money, and having a quieter life. Other days I really miss downtown and wonder if moving back would give me the push I need to get out there and start living a little more again.
So I’m curious — for those of you who genuinely enjoy living in Toronto, what do you love about it? What keeps you here?

Chaplin Crescent & Eglinton

Had a medical appointment in Eglinton so did a detour and wandered around Chaplin Crescent and the Beltline Trail. Boy, is it beautiful! Living in DT Toronto it is such a welcome change to see housing right next to open trails. Loved it. Sharing some pictures, in case someone else is curious to explore it.

Also, used the new Eglinton Line 5 (bonus). Just get down at Chaplin station and you are right on the Beltline Trail.

Need a dental cleaning? I’ll pay you $100🦷✨

Hi everyone!
I’m a dental hygiene student starting my third semester on August 19, and I’m looking for reliable clients who haven’t been to the dentist in a while.
Our clinic is a teaching clinic, so appointments are more thorough than a regular dental office and usually take 4–6 visits. I work efficiently and do my best to complete treatment as quickly as possible.
Your treatment includes:
🦷 Comprehensive periodontal (gum) assessment
🦷 Dental X-rays (if needed)
🦷 Full mouth cleaning (debridement)
🦷 Polishing
🦷 Fluoride treatment
Clinic times:
Mondays: 11:30 AM – 3:30 PM
Wednesdays: 7:30 AM – 11:30 AM
The clinic fee is $32, but I’ll reimburse the full amount, and once your treatment is completed, I’ll also pay you an additional $100 as a thank you for being my client.
If you’ve been putting off a dental cleaning or know someone who has, please send me a message! I’d really appreciate it, and it’s a great opportunity to get comprehensive dental hygiene care while helping a student complete their clinical requirements.

Walk back home from Office

I walk back via Queens Quay from my office, and saw these 2 boats that seemed out of the ordinary. Pretty sick.

Historic Liberty Village, Dufferin Loop, Exhibition Grounds, Marilyn Bell Park, Coyote Sighting(?)

Love this walk. Second time doing this but with some changes. Instead of going through residential Parkdale through Springhurst, we went meandering through exhibition grounds through the Dufferin Loop, and then all along the water in the area south of Parkdale.

Think we might have seen a Coyote waiting for its food at the rowing club. And I have seen coyote warning signs a bit east at Coronation Park, so it's plausible.

My friend tried out the coin operated public washroom and it apparently plays some calming new age music.

Went up to queen via the Sunnyside bridge and east on queen. Finished with one of the best cheap meals in the city at Loga's!
