What is going on? YTS, 1337x, and The Pirate Bay are all messed up. HELP!

DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT IS GOING ON? The new domain yts.gg clearly doesn't work, and there appear to be copycat sites (such as yts.lu which is labelled yts.mx and clearly isn't a real version, then there's yify.co which looks like yts in a new format, but every time I click something it tries to redirect to upandsawhwh.com (I have no idea).

Even worse is I can't 1337x.to to come up, and I have a whole separate issue with thepiratebay.org. At first it comes up like normal, then a second or two later it turns into what I guess is the text code for the site, which is useless!

I've been on these sites for pretty much as long as they've been around, and suddenly and recently *poof*, I can't get any of them to work.

My ISP is Comcast, browser is Google Chrome, and yes, I have an ad blocked but I don't see how disabling that is going to help. Especially considering there are 3 major sites and 3 different problems. Looks like a lot of people having the issue with YTS, but I don't see anyone having problems with TPB or 1337x.

Confused old man returning to torrenting

I was heavy into torrenting during the golden age from Napster till the fall of pirate bay. I'm returning to it because fuck streaming and especially fuck Crunchyroll. However I find that I'm now more than a lot out of touch and don't know what the hell anyone is talking about. Can someone help this poor crippled old bastard cross the torrenting street without getting hit by the copyright bus.

Reached ~178 Stars! Built a Terminal Torrent client that searches every trusted source at once and downloads straight to disk

Finding a torrent in 2026 sucks. One site is a minefield of fake download buttons. Another hides the real link under a popup that spawns two more tabs. And after all that, half the results are dead with zero seeders.

So I built the opposite. torlink lives in your terminal: you type a query, it hits a curated set of trackers all at once, and the results stream back tagged with source, size, and seeders as fast as each site answers. Arrow to the one you want, press d, and it lands on your drive. No browser and no setup.

The whole thing is one command:

npx torlnk

That's it, all you need is Node. (The npm name is torlnk; torlink was too close to an existing package, so the spare "i" had to go.)

What you get

  • One search across FitGirl, YTS, EZTV, Nyaa, SubsPlease, and SolidTorrents at once, with results streaming in and staying sorted as each source answers. If one is down it keeps going and tells you which.
  • Press d to grab. Queue up as many as you want; they download in the background and pick up where they left off if you quit mid-transfer.
  • It seeds by default once a download finishes, and you can turn that off per item. Torrenting only works when people give back.
  • A clean keyboard-driven TUI: one footer line, a ? cheatsheet, and that is the whole surface. Nothing leaves your machine except the request to the torrent network.

My favorite way to use it right now is loading up on games to try out this summer. One search, a couple of keystrokes, and a whole stack of them is downloading in the background.

On games: games are the only category that can actually run code, so those come from FitGirl alone, a repacker with a long, well-known track record. Everything else is plain video and subtitles from sources like YTS, EZTV, and Nyaa.

MIT and open source. Open to feedback and source suggestions, and a star is appreciated if you find it useful.

I built TorrentX: A zero-setup torrent searcher & downloader that runs right in your terminal.

Finding a torrent these days is a headache. One site is a minefield of fake download buttons, another hides links under three popup ads, and half the mirrors you try are blocked by your ISP or dead with zero seeders.

I wanted something clean, fast, and completely free of browser junk. So I built TorrentX — a sleek, zero-setup terminal meta-search engine and download client.

(GitHub link is in the comments below!)

⚡ Key Features:

Concurrency Meta-Search: Searches and merges results in real-time from YTS, Nyaa, EZTV, PirateBay, SolidTorrents, Bitsearch, LimeTorrents, and FitGirl Repacks in parallel.

Direct Terminal Downloads: Pressing Shift+D on any result starts downloading it right inside the TUI using a built-in WebTorrent client. It features a live progress bar, active peer count, ETA, and download/upload speed metrics.

Automatic Seeding: Completed downloads keep seeding automatically so you can share back to the network. You can pause, resume, or opt-out anytime.

ISP Block Bypass: If your ISP blocks torrent domains, it's designed to work seamlessly with custom DNS (like Cloudflare 1.1.1.1) or any standard VPN.

FMHY Fallback Integration: Features a built-in offline crawler for the FreeMediaHeckYeah (FMHY) index. If torrent seed counts are zero, it acts as a directory fallback to find working direct streaming/download sites.

Smart Intent Search: Automatically adjusts search filters and prioritizing based on keywords (e.g. typing anime, kdrama, or language tags).

🛠️ Tech Stack:

Ink + React (for the TUI rendering loop)

TypeScript

WebTorrent (for the P2P engine)

It requires absolutely nothing but Node.js to run. Give it a spin!

P.S. If this saves you from clicking a fake download button or sitting through three popups, dropping a ⭐ on the GitHub repo will keep the terminal gods happy!

Accidentally went onto a torrent site without a vpn

I'm usually not on those sites myself, only someone I know is.. but when I installed a game on my PC, it automatically opened the site on my PC, which does not have a vpn.

I know it's probably not a big deal (since i closed the site immediately), but should I be worried? About authorities or anything? I'm just paranoid and inexperienced sorry💔😞

Full Seasons of TV shows?

I have tried using qbit to download tv shows but it is so annoying trying to sift through the countless items listed when searching for torrents on there. Let alone having to know exactly how many episodes, etc. I am hoping to find some place where I can download full seasons of TV shows at once instead of by episode.

I am losing my mind

I hit block by accident a few months ago, and have never gotten access to the site since. Allow button does nothing.

Deleted cookies, reset permissions, deleted all cookies, reset all permissions, deleted and downloaded chrome, cleared DNS cache, everything that my feeble mind can figure shy of complete OS re-install.

If there is a better place to ask for help I will gladly delete and re-post there, I just dont know what to do.

What is going on with YTS?

As of writing this (06/27/26) yts.bz just redirects me to yts.gg now and the logo is just your basic average font now but the site looks "legit" with the same old layout and everything, but something still feels "off" and I can't quite wrap my head around what it is as I'm not sure if they're changing domains every few to several months to prevent their site from getting "shutdown" but it's quite annoying as I can't tell what's "legit" or not from them anymore and don't want to risk getting malware/a virus on my rig. If anyone can update me on their latest domain, I would really appreciate

Ext.to not accesible from some ISPs on Spain

I haven't been able to access ext.to (or extto.com) since yesterday, as apparently they've been closed down by the goverment/they've asked ISPs to closed them down (an official notice appears when trying to access them). I can't access them even using a VPN.

Is there any other official mirror out there? I know some other websites that I can use, but I really like ext, being able to check out new things, etc.

TIA!
